Genesis and Phil Collins

I put them both in the same thread because if you didn't know Phil was the lead singer and drummer of Genesis.
Anyway, they rule! Surely there's some other people that agree with me, whether it's just Genesis or Phil Collins, doesn't have to be both! Hardly anyone I know knows who Genesis or Phil Collins are, so does anyone here know? And what are your favourite songs?
I have a long list so I won't put it down hehe

P.S. And did they release the 3 CD platinum Genesis album over in America? If not they should

Wow! I'm surprised anyone knows about these guys anymore.

For the record, Peter Gabriel was their first lead singer, but he left in the early 70's. Phil Collins had been their drummer, but took over vocals after PG left.

My college roomate was a big Genesis/Peter Gabriel fan.

Some of their stuff is good, but a lot of it sounds really dated now.

I saw them in concert after their last album, 1992 or so, I think. They did all the usual radio hits and stuff, but they also did "Home by the Sea", which is a cool long song about a haunted house.

The one I think is their best is "In the Cage". There's a live version with Phil collins singing on the "Three Sides Live" disc, but there's a better version with Peter Gabriel on an earlier live disc.

I haven't listened to any of their stuff in years. Now I'm gonna have to dig some out. Maybe I have some mp3's somewhere.....

In Britain there's the "3 CD platinum album" which has about 50 songs on it
I don't know about America.

Against All Odds is great...but, in England, it has been murdered by:

Westlife.
Mariah Carey.
A reality TV show winner who is a fake.
Some other person.

And they all got to number one with it, Phil Collins didn't I think...if you like the song so much, why don't you by the original better version?

I like both Phil Collins and Genesis. I'm not as familiar with Genesis, but my favorite song of theirs is "Abacab" and I love "In the Air Tonight" as well. Phil is a terrific drummer on top of his singing ability.
