I watched the Grey's Anatomy season premiere tonight (first episode of it I've ever watched, but all my friends are in love with it and I wanted to see why), and I wasn't that impressed.

It seemed like they cram a completely unrealistic drama into one hour of TV. Is every episode like that? It gets tiring.

this will sound crazy - hell, it might BE crazy - but they improve upon further acquaintance. and actually, to get tonight's season premiere, you have to have known the backstory of the little snippets they showed you, the people they mention, the way they are with one another. so get a friend to lend you seasons 1 and 2 and join us next week for some serious fur flying (the panties on the board??).

Ok.. i came home from work late last night so i decided to watch the season premiere on timeshifting at midnight...... and they played the wrong episode. they actually ended up showing the second episode of season 3. i was watching and none of it made any sense to me. there were no flashbacks or anything, and stuff had already been revealed. let me know if anyone else experienced the same thing.

That sucks There's a replay of last night's episode tonight at 8PM. At least that's what I saw in the TV schedule on my digital cable.

Well, it didn't beat the shit out of them, but it did beat them.

ABC's upstart hospital hit "Grey's Anatomy" performed a ratings transplant on the CBS powerhouse crime show "CSI" Thursday as two of television's hottest dramas went head to head for the first time.

The season premiere of "Grey's Anatomy," a newcomer to the Thursday schedule, topped the night with 25 million viewers overall -- 3 million more than "CSI" -- and scored the No. 1 rating among adults aged 18 to 49, the group most prized by advertisers, Nielsen Media Research reported Friday.
I watched CSI but taped Grey's anatomy. I will watch it tonight.

Honestly, I love everyone but Grey on Grey's anatomy. She is way too whiny and emotional. It's like watching Carrie Bradshaw play a doctor. Although I did love when she told McDreamy "You don't get to call me a whore."

Yeah, Meredith does get whiny a lot, but I don't think she will whine as much this season.

I loved last night's episode...I even threw a semi-party for it. Apparently, people in Canada watched the second episode instead of the first because the TV network screwed up or something, as ilookuptoamy stated.

I watched it on ABC so I got the right episode, I don't know if CTV(the canadian channel that carries the show) screwed up or not.

whoo hoo glad they beat csi, if only by 3 mill. thanks for the info

and yeah, merideth is a bit too whiny sometimes but then you look at all the crap that happenes(ed) to her and you kind of understand some of the whining. and the whole " you dont get to calle me a whore thing" - loved it. im glad she finally stood up for herself.

as good as mcdreamy may make her feel - he needs to make up his damn mind and pick one or the other. either break things off and divorce his wife and be with merideth or stop screwing with merideth's head and fix things with addison.... but then there wouldnt be any drama.

ahhh i love it hehe

I loved the season premiere! I want more, more more more I liked the flashbacks, I just hope they aren't gonna keep doing that (it reminded me too much of Lost), but it was good because it showed exactly what happened to each of them.

I agree that Meredith is too whiny. She annoys me a lot sometimes but she's also kind of endearing. It's funny because it never seems to be the main character who people like the most, it's always the sidekicks and the people that are in it less. I love George, Dr. Bailey, Izzy, Cristina, Derek and Addison Shepherd, but I don't like Meredith as much. George cracks me up.. "I love you...soon-ish" - hahaha

Whoever said they liked the scene where Meredith says to Derek "You don't get to call me a whore", I agree with you. That was an awesome scene! I especially liked the "I make no apologies for how I chose to repair what you broke." line. <- I couldn't remember exactly what she said so I looked it up, and here's all of it, hehe.

"You don't get to call me a whore. When I met you, I thought I had found the person that I was going to spend the rest of my life with. I was done. So all the boys, and all the bars, and all the obvious daddy issues, who cared? Because I was done. You left me. You chose Addison. I'm all glued back together now. I make no apologies for how I chose to repair what you broke. You don't get to call me a whore."

-----

I know that the second episode was shown by mistake in Canada and I'm sooo tempted to download it but then I'd have to wait 2 weeks until the next episode

I love last week's episode.

*spoiler*

The whole Addison being drunk thing was hilarious. And wow...Meredith's decision. I didn't think she'd want to date BOTH...I wonder how that'll play out, seeing as Finn is only staying on for a couple more episodes. I absolutely positively love seeing Cristina with Burke's, er...Preston's mom. It cracked me up when his dad said at the very end, "Hang in there".

I'm excited for tonight's episode...only four hours and 12 minutes!
