Hail from Krisskar Myrrdin (Myrrdin) writer
--Hail and well met folksies! My old name was Krisskar Myrrdin, and I am very very old. So old I remember a time when you had to walk to get places....and I have been many things.
--Once I told a story to Jaimie Verlander of Gallowglass, and she made it into a song for me. A thousand years before the carving of the Sphinx, in the dark forest where now is the country of France, Frida the night elf went for a walk. To see what happend to her, look at the youtube video I made (search: Krisskar, Frida). --Anyway, I have written one song in my life, at least the words and melody. Perhaps Amy Lee would write an arrangement for it, especially since she is becoming a harpist.....Lament of the Elf King. It is a lullaby, like you would sing to a baby actually. --The story is this: He loved from afar, a courtly love, and his heart was broken. Eventually he gave up the grace given him, and took on a mortal life. At the end, he told me, "Better an unmarked grave dug by a friend, than a monument erected by the uncaring!". So, in a field of flowers atop a bluff facing the sea to the west, the Elf King was laid to rest. --In the western sea his people had created a great civilization. Yet they fought amongst themselves, and destroyed their homeland such that it sank beneath the waves. So those that survived swore never to fight again, and sailed to the east where they found a green island home, which is now known as Ireland. They were the Tuatha de Dana, and Ireland prospered under their care. --But the Romans, driving ever westward, drove a group of Milesians to sail northward from the Iberian peninsula, and they came to the shores of Ireland. The Tuatha de Dana held them beyond the seventh breaker and discussed what to do. Amergin, the druid bard of the Milesians, prophesied to them in the "Song of Amergin" --"I am the wind upon the sea I am the flood across the plain I am the hawk above the cliff I am the thorn beneath the rose I am the stag of seven tines I am the salmon in a pool I am wisdom, who but I....cools the head aflame with smoke --"I am the hills where poets walk I am the lure from beyond world's end I am the spear that rears for blood I am the tear the sun lets fall I am the breaker, threatening doom I am an infant....who but I, peeks from the stone arch yet unhewn." --When the Tuatha de Dana heard the prophesy of Amergin, some chose to take on mortality. Some chose to go to the "Place that is not". Some....lingered in the world between here and there....becoming what we knew as fairies, elves, and the magical folk........Long I have searched and found none remaining. --And I? I am an ordinary fellow of the College of Beltane; and I believe, the last of my kind. Some time ago I also chose mortality, and as I come to the end of my long long long life, I wish to leave the song of my king behind. ----------It was in 2006 I heard a snippet of "My Immortal" on a youtube video (search: "Here without you" warcraft). In January 2007 I bought the 2nd cd, then the 1st by Evanescence. In many months on the road I listened and have probably memorized all the songs (I admit I had to read the words.....my hearing isn't so good these days)....the lullaby, write the arrangement Amy.....a small monument for him, by a friend. |

It's good to laugh
--It is good for you to laugh.
--Always my children seemed to go into a time between 12 and 24 where I never thought they would be happy again....your bio seems to be like that child. --I have dabbled in World of Warcraft a bit yes, with several RL companions. --....as for the rest of my post, it is basically historical, not hysterical. -------------------- ---Mr. Myrrdin will do, don't know how it came to be mispronounced as it is these days, there is no "L". |

Hello Myrrdin!
Welcome to the board, I'm Nyx, I'll be here to guide you around and show you the do's and don't's of EvBoard. If you ever have any troubles or concerns, feel free to contact me and I'll do my best to help. ![]() First of all, it would be nice if you could check out the FAQs, they're the rules that most of us go by in order to keep our community pleasant and organised. If you try posting immediately but don't see any of your posts showing up, it's because we have a Moderation queue (check here and here) used to keep out unwanted posts such as spam or topics that already exist, or simply things that aren't appropriate for this place. To make sure that you get through the Mod queue smoothly, use the Search tool in the upper right side of the screen. EvBoard has been around for some time, therefore many topics may already exist, we're a talkative bunch. We have a nice Noob feedback thread where you can let us know how well we're doing our job at welcoming everyone. Also, if you want to know how others felt as noobs here at first, you can check many opinions in this thread, it's informative and helpful, I promise. ![]() One more thing, the colour red is only for moderators to use when they inforce a rule or need to attract attention in a thread. If you wish to post in a colour besides the board default, there's plenty others to choose from. Since you seem to be quite the creative one, why don't you head on to the Literary section of our Your Stuff forum? It's a place where users post their work in order for others to admire and/or criticise (in the nicest way possible, that is). Expect a PM from me shortly, in which I'll give you more info on how this place works. Once again, welcome!
