Halloween 9 [MOVIE]

This is great news for Halloween fans... I am so excited about this one, because it looks like they are going to go back to the original creepy roots of the first films, instead of making mindless slasher sequels with pointless rappers in lead roles...

"A source got in touch with FANGORIA with some news about the ninth HALLOWEEN film, currently in development. "The new movie is called HALLOWEEN: ASYLUM," the scooper tells Fango, "and it’s being written by Matt Venne—whose spec horror script SECOND SIGHT is being produced by Clive Barker’s Seraphim Films—for SUICIDE CLUB’s Sion Sono to make his North American directorial debut. HALLOWEEN: ASYLUM is being set in Smith’s Grove, which became a maximum security penitentiary/asylum after the breakout of ’78. It’s filled with deranged killers and Michael is awaiting execution, harking back to the horror-hospital setting of HALLOWEEN II. This is not going to be some neutered VS. movie, not filled with campy one-liners, etc. Rather, it takes the iconic Michael Myers back to his roots in a very cool setting. It’s really serious/scary/suspenseful in tone, like all the best HALLOWEEN films have been." No one from the HALLOWEEN camp has officially confirmed these details, but we’ll let you know more as we find it out." —Michael Gingold

Being a HUUUUUUGE Halloween fan myself, this is certainly great news. I hope it's not shitty like the latest Halloween movies have been.

AHH!!! YESSS!!!!! Just what I needed... I LOVE the Halloween series!! All of them, ok well I've never seen the 3rd or 6th but personally I don't wanna see the 3rd. It has nothing to do with the rest. But I would like to see the 6th. Anyways, back to number 9, yea, I hope it turns out good. I wonder who they'll cast? Oooh, Clive Barker.... Candyman Candyman Candyman Candyman.... uhh yea you get the point..... this might just have potential. Just as long as they don't pull some Jason X crap I'll be fine. That was possibly the worst movie ever. I'm gonna keep an eye on this one.

Exactly! Last movie was horrible! I was so disapointed!

Umm... no they sort of verified that they do not want to make it campy with cheesy one liners, and want to go back to the original roots of the film. Busta Rhymes is sort of behind the whole "campy" thing...

Also... the man in black was revealed 10 years ago in Halloween 6... he was Dr. Loomises old co-worker or something, a psychiatrist...

I've heard rumors of a Freddy vs. Jason vs. Michael Myers type movie. That would be so very cool.

Michael would die though since he's human. That would make me melancholic beyond belief. He's my favorite of all. I actually root for him to kill the victims in the movie.
