I finally finished reading The Deathly Hallows. Yeh, I know I'm slow, but I had to wait for my sister to read it first.
I really enjoyed it. Although I did cry for most of the last third or so of the book. lol. The epilogue could have been better though - I wanted to find out what happened to some of the other members of the DA etc. Then again, I guess that would have taken a whole new book to write that. lol.

Thanks for that.
I saw that, but I still think the epilogue was lacking somewhat. I can't really explain it properly, it's just what I thought when I read it.

I got around to reading the book lately and thought it was lovely. It's definitely my favorite book in the series. The only other book that just really sat well with me was CoS. None of the others really grabbed my interest and captivated my full attention as these two did.
Loved the ending btw, and the epilogue. Don't know why so many people (here at least) seem disappointed or upset with it in some way. It was just right for an epilogue and filled the space nicely. Hmm. I'm curious as to whether Harry lost the transferred powers and abilities from Voldemort when Voldemort destroyed the part of the soul within Harry. Just thought of that now; I probably wasn't reading the end there carefully enough. I was terribly upset that Hedwig was killed so quickly into the story... such a sad moment. And killing Fred was upsetting as well. But the deaths absolutely went well with the storyline. As a final sidenote: I also greatly enjoyed the additional revealed backgrounds of Snape and Dumbledore. Great book, really.

Definitely answers my question. That makes me kind of sad. In one of the other books it was mentioned by Dumbledore that there have been some wizards that have spoken Parseltongue that didn't go sour... buuuut, they only ever mention Harry, and Parseltongue wasn't unique to Harry. Oh well, anyway, I'm glad these books are over with.

Yeah, I am bummed about Harry's inability to speak Parseltongue. It was really sexy.
I got chills every time he did it in the books....I had dreams that I could also speak Parseltongue and I felt like such a badass. Then me and Harry could run away together and form a colony of snakes to do our bidding....Anyway...

Haha, I love how we are suddenly hearing all these stories about people that have dreamed about Harry Potter in some way. But seriously... the loss of the Parseltongue thing sucks. I always thought it made Harry unique in that he could do it. And I'm kind of pissed off that he doesn't miss it (according to Jo). That's bullshit.
R.I.P. Parseltongue Harry You will be missed.
