R.I.P. Parseltongue Harry
You will be missed.

Yeah I suppose it was pretty cool but then again, would you want a talent that belonged to the person who killed your parents? What kinda bugged me was when Ron and Hermione went to the COS and Ron spoke Parseltongue...I was reading going WTF??

I totally thought they had ran off to have a quickie before they fought... Then when I read that I was like "Well, that was the stupidest, most unneeded thing ever."

A quickie??!! I know the books had grown up...but that might be too grown-up!!!

On a whole I was pleased with the book, and was reduced to tears on many occasions (Dobby, Fred, Lupin, Tonks, Snape and his memories).
I was glad when Jo answered the other questions in the webchat too cause there were a few loose ends left.

Well all you had to say was "open" in Parseltongue. And Ron heard Harry say it back in their second year, and earlier in the book. So I'm sure Ron could pick up that one word and have a successful go at it. Besides it did say he had to try a few times before he got it right. Give the kid some credit, yo.

If he buffed up a bit and ditched the glasses I'd be all over that too. I'm sorry, but... black hair and green eyes? EXCUSE ME. ::Swoon::

I don't remember if it was in this thread or somewhere else that someone was confused about the Polyjuice Potion voice thingy... in the books their voices DO change. I don't know why they decided to not have the voices change for the movies... it was just something that got switched in the book to movie process. Maybe to help the audience follow along with the idea that Harry and Ron were just disguised as Crabbe and Goyle?

I have a few friends that have long black hair, bright green eyes, and are pale. They are hot! It's called a Finish type, because almost all the guys (and girls) in Finland look exactly like that. But I'm not from Finland, I'm from Croatia where those kind of guys are rare!

yeah, when I watched the second movie and their voices didn't change I was a little confused but maybe its like you say, they didn't change their voices because they wanted the audience to follow the idea of harry and ron like crabbe and goyle

*Sigh* Yeah. It's a pity the movie makers can't tell the difference between blue eyes and green....brown hair and black....sleek hair and bushy hair....normal teeth and two large front teeth…periwinkle-blue dress robes and a frilly pink dress…. Everyone just looks a slight on the wrong side in the movies for me. James and Lily look entirely too old. I've personally never seen two twenty-one year olds look like a middle-aged couple (okay, so maybe they don't look that old, but I'm ranting.). Perhaps they aged in the after-life. /sarcasm. Every time someone tells Harry he has Lily's eyes in the movies, I honestly want to stick a fork in their eyeballs. Because their eyes are obviously failing them anyway. It ticks me off to no end. Okay, so most aspects of the movies do, but I’m off topic….

As for the book, I was in awe. Jo seriously couldn't have given a better ending to the series. I was in tears the whole time I had the thing. I refused to open it past the title page for the longest time. And once I did, I cried a bucket. Then, the frequent times I cried during the book. (Lily and James' grave, Ron leaving, Dobby, Fred, Harry in Sirius' room, 'I open at the close', Remus and Tonks, and many others) Sirius has been my favorite character since the end of PoA, so I've been pretty much depressed since OotP. (Random side note: I hated the movie. They ruined his death and made him seem like a delusional arsehole.) Remus was my back-up favorite - my only hope at mild sanity - and then he died. I thought I'd have to be committed. If he'd been given an actual death scene, I'd seriously be in a padded room right now. I had to stop reading at that point and it took me a while to stop crying. It helped to get to see him so soon after it, though. And seeing Sirius! And James and Lily! That was, in my opinion, the absolute best scene out of the entire series. It was so beautiful. And, of course, I had to cry when I closed the book….

I'm still in denial. It hasn't hit me that it's over yet. And I'm hoping it won't hit me for a long while, because when it does….it won't be pretty.
