I must say I am both looking forward to this movie and I am worried about it. I can't see how they can make only one film and get that whole book in it, without cuting aload of great material, but i think it is now time to have a new movie to look forward too....so let us have it!

However, make fun of me if you must, I CANNOT stand his new beard. I can't watch him in the new movie without having my mind constantly turn to his beard, with it's little tie in the middle. What the heck is the point of it? Lol...

I agree with Ali. Dumbly was played a little too...old and stiff. In the novels, he's far more mobile and far less senile. My favorite scene in any of the pictures is Snape and Dumbly discussing Sirius' threat to Harry and he delivers a magnificent line about dreams as the camera pans up to the bewitched ceiling. I can not picture Richard Harris doing that as elegantly.

This is why the fourth one has me worried. Add that to the common fear of the length of the film, and you've got one anxious obsessive Harry Potter fan on your hands....not a good combination. ![]() ....And does anyone else think this picture looks like we've disturbed a good snog session?? ![]()

I loved the old Dumbledore, he was the exact image in my mind when i read the books and he had that kind caring look in his eyes and that soft relaxed tone, like he is always in control and never worried. Though the new one does have another side of Dumbledore down packed, such as the energy and spark as some of you already said. They both play the part very well, i just thought Richard Harrison was better with the Dumbledore image. Can we just combine them together? Also Dora, the beard also annoys me, i don't like the tie in the middle either. I saw the tralier for GoF a few weeks ago and i thought it was the best tralier i have ever seen. I'm so excited Goblet of Fire is my faviourite book, i can't wait to see the movie, and i can't wait to see Voldermort. I don't know why, but i can never condure up and image of him in my head. Its always blank. well not blank, nothing is every bland, but all i see is light coloured hair for some reason. I don't even think he has light colourd hair ![]() Last edited by ~*Alicia*~ : 09-17-2005 at 07:44 AM. |

I think Rayburn reviewed the movies best. The acting is, IMO, better than in the 3rd movie, especially with the trio. Most likely they've matured, gotten some acting experience, and become much better. However, the plot of the movies...Grrr, well it bothered me. They left out so many important things. And I know the things weren't that important to the plot itself, but I felt like they shaped characters better. Like Harry's patronus, it's supposed to be a STAG not a shapeless shield. And no way, no way whatsoever, could he get that on his second try. It's supposed to be this really complex thing, and it's supposed to be a huge deal later on that he can make on and he's only a teenager. But now it won't be a big deal, since he figured it out almost instantly.
However, I'm not nearly as fond of the first 3 books, as I am the latest. I think the 4th-6th are the best so far. So I'm crossing my fingers that the 4th is the best...

Do you see Madam Maxime in the new ad? I don't think I've seen a picture of her at all.
