First thing I noticed when I picked up the open door was the pentagram. The pentagram is one of the oldest symbols known to man (and no- the illuminati is not behind it all), the pentagram's origins reach back to Mesopatamia, from the beginning of civilization. While no one knows the true original meaning of the pentagram, it is thought to have symbolized the soul.
Now a days an upright pentagram symbolizes God or the soul- spirit over matter. When it is reversed it symbolizes the opposite and the meaning is evil- matter over spirit. I am pretty sure that the pentagrams are placed on the 'open door' as a means of protection, which is what pentagrams are used for in modern day witchcraft. Two other meanings of the pentragram are: The five points of the pentagram symbolize the five wounds of christ. The five points symbolize the five elements: Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Spirit. ![]()

I thought the circle around the pentagram itself was supposed to symbolize the spirit's love and completeness? Perhaps I'm wrong, I'm not Wiccan, but I have a few friends that are.
Also, I've never heard of pentagrams being used to describe the five wounds of Christ. Where did you hear that? I'd like to read into it some more. ![]()
