Woo-hoo resurrecting my thread!
![]() Miss Mandy Dedicated to Amanda Palmer - not in a stalkerish way either, but because of what her music has done for me The audience scream, burlesque & costumed, Signs in hand: Punk Cabaret is freedom, And the little wooden figure hangs his head, As he knows he lacks the courage to believe them. Yet suddenly Miss Mandy takes the stage, The puppet-master snaps his fingers and the strings disappear, As a real boy he sits beside her at the piano, And closes his eyes as the words and music quell his fears. The clock strikes twelve and his strings reappear, As he screams with the crowd, he sees one less string for every sin, Miss Mandy rises, turns and shouts to him above the din, ‘Please, just remember to sing….’ (c)2007 V.C. Aurora This was was written from a prompt on another forum, but I really like how it turned out The waves whisper poetically against the hull, The wind replies to the cryptic verse of the sea, The winter moon lights the path to the unknown, The ghostly watcher sits on deck, silent and free. As the vivid colours light the lonely sky, Below her namesake glides slowly by. The faded canvas flaps in the shifty breeze, Like a mythical bird she glides across the sea, The watcher’s song carries on the icy wind, ‘Aurora, my lady, come back to me…’ As the vivid colours light the lonely sky, Below her namesake glides slowly by. (c) 2007 V.C.

Wow, Aurora did turn out well! I love it! It's pretty cool that your signature is of a ship as well, that elicited some nice imagery.
"As the vivid colours light the lonely sky, Below her namesake glides slowly by." I love those lines. It's a beautiful couplet. I love poetry that tells a story. Great work!
