Hey guys.
I notice alot of you are into well known metal bands like nightwish, within temptation, and epica.
But do any of you like the heavier or more obscure stuff?
Im not sure whether we have a topic for this...I just joined.

But I really like heavier stuff now, like Gallhammer. They rule. Let's discuss them!

www.last.fm is a great website that tracks your listening habits and generates recommendations according to them, through an already-available database of thousands of artists. I've found tons of stuff through that site, maybe you should give it a chance.

This is an awesome site, and thank you for posting it!

I have found so many bands, I never new existed.
Alot of them, are just amamzing, their lyrics, and sound.
I find myself, getting more into the heavier bands, more then
I ever did before.

I got into a lot of bands by going to a website called SonicCathedral...it's full of female fronted metal bands.

I like Lamb of God and In Flames a bit, if that's what you mean.

But mostly I stick to my faves: Living Sacrifice, Soul Embraced, Becoming the Archetype, Zao, With Blood Comes Cleansing, and Immortal Souls. I also love a lot of Unblack bands like Arvinger, Holy Blood, Vaakenvandring, Antestor, Vaande, Horde, Evroklidon, Drottnar...

I have never heard of any of the above...are they metal? Death metal, goth metal etc? I like death metal, but not too much of it.

*grins* These are advanced bands. Unblack is non-satanic black metal. You have to work your way up to them from lighter music, like Death metal, lol.

You mean it can get worse than a band that I found called "Chainsaw Dissection"? They are from New Alexandria, PA, and I found them by searching for assorted metals on CDBaby.

It is pure distortion and totally gutteral vocals with the super fast kick bass percussion. How much more "metal" can one get and still have it actually sound like some semblance of music?
