You should have at least an 8th grade education to be posting here, use it. Please refrain from any kind of irc/aim speak that involves destroying the English (or any other) language. Notice how I am writing here? I may have an error here or there--perhaps I misuse a word or end a sentence in a preposition. Perhaps a comma splice or something else along those lines, whatever. In general, however, my post is clear and understandable and I avoid using things such as (but not limited to):
* 'u' and 'r' as in 'u r cool'
* 8 for an "ate" sound such as in "skater" / "sk8r"
* SPEAKING IN ALL CAPS
* Using "plz" instead of "please."

Please make an effort to use proper spelling and grammar.

First, I'm going to answer some questions that I bet you haven't even thought of yet. One thing EVERYONE asks about is the Moderation Queue. You're put in there because you're new, but don't worry - with good posting, you'll be let out of there soon (except when you post in the Advice forum. The Advice forum is moderated for everyone except mods). The green dots under your name are Reputation Points; here is a small guide for using them.

Other random things you should know about: The color red can only be used by moderators and Administrators. Choose a different color when you post. Be respectful to the mods; they're volunteers, and they're doing their job. If you have a concern or a question about a decision they made, PM them. Also be respectful to the band members, who do post here (that's practically a given, but we've had some people who neglect that, and that's no fun for anyone).

Also try and use as much English as you can, and not AIM-speak. It gets annoying for many of us, and it's hard for the people who don't speak it as a first language to read stuf speld rong lyk dis.

One of the most important tools of the board is the Search function, located in the upper right of each screen, in the toolbar that contains the User CP link. PLEASE use it before you post a new thread.

Read the FAQ; it's really informative, I promise

If it's a bit much all at once, read a few sections at a time.

I'll be PMing you shortly; however, if you have any questions at all, feel free to PM me anytime. This board can be intimidating at first, and I'm happy to answer any questions or concerns you might have.
