How is the vocal performance now?

I think she's definitely improved. I thought she did pretty awesome on the TOD tour. XD I mean, that's the only time I ever saw them live and she nailed my gig! I wasn't aware that people were criticizing her so much.

I used to think the more they toured, the better the performance. At least I thought that was the case for the TOD tour. I think for this current tour, I think vocal strain is a big issue. I think this album has some of the most "beltiest" songs they've ever recorded and she has struggled. Like, I'm currently watching the live stream of Rock Am Ring and during Never Go Back, her voice kind of died. I mean I know why she was singing the way she was - she couldn't force it and was trying to preserve her voice. But that's what I mean! Some nights she'll nail songs like Never Go Back, or Sick, or My Heart is Broken, but other nights..

Anyway, what I mean to say, like I first said - she has improved.

She sings some songs so much better than she used to and it's all because she's more seasoned now. I just hope she takes lots of good care with her voice for this tour. Don't want her to burn out and lose her voice. XD

You know, I used to be very critical of her. I will say that she has improved a ton. She sings some pretty difficult songs and for the most part sounds great. Every performer is going to have an off night. It happens. I'm sure she gets exhausted and low on energy sometimes. These things affect your voice. It's tough to rock out and have perfect pitch. She's great at what she does. Like I've said before, if you don't like it, you get up there and do it and let me know how that goes.

Nope wasn't defending her. Just stating that was she does is difficult and not many people who judge her harshly would do much better. That's all. And no, lol. My username doesn't have to do with this band. It's a tattoo I have.

Btw, I've known the video Sadness has linked to for years. I have yet to understand where most of the alleged mistakes are; all I can hear is that her voice sounds a bit strained or tired from time to time. Well, who cares, stupid channel, stupid video.
