To Amy,

I know you have strong opinions of Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, or any other female in the music industry that exploits sexuality and nudity in their career.

But Bjork - whom I've read that you idolize - sometimes has music, and especially music videos, that are often quite sexual and/or contain nudity. (I'll never let my mom watch the video to "I Miss you", "Pagan Poetry", or "Cocoon"...EVER!!) Now I know most of her videos aren't shown on MTV regularly..But still.

I'd like to know what you think the difference between Bjork's use of sexuality in her career, and someone such as Christina's is. Or just your general opinions on this.

I have my own views on what the difference is, but I'm really interested in having your insight on this.

There is a difference between using sex to sell albums and an artist expressing their sexuality. A huge difference.

Ah you stole me answer! haha j/k, but I was going to say the same thing. At least IMO Christina and the like use sex to promote themselves more than to express themselves (although with Christina she says she is expressing herself, but who knows?).

i understand you want amy's perspective on this...but it's such a good question that i feel important enough right now to answer it...that's right. me. yeah! hmm, moving on...

as we all know (or SHOULD know), bjork is in her own category musically and artistically. i feel she does everything PURELY for the art...that's it. and let's face it, the human body can be a great piece of art if used in the right manner.

wheras i see these other artists (xxxtina, britney, etc.) using their bodies purely for marketing ploys...attention...media...bullshit...whatever.

if you haven't bought bjork's photo book (the title escapes me now)..man, you have to...SO much in that book without words...if there was a word that surpassed the complexity of love...that's what i'd feel for bjork's art. just pure genius.

I hate some of the stuff that pop stars like Xtina do...but really, it's their own choice isn't it, if they wan't to come across that way, them let them. I'm just glad Amy's not like them!

Yeah, it's their choice. However, when people like Britney appear almost nude in a music video, you know there's something wrong.

now on the subject, what Falling Vanishing said is true, there is a large difference between these to artists, Christina Aguilera in my opinion is just selling sex to get further in her career when she doesnt need to, if you remeber her song Beautiful, that song was a hit for ages, she is actually dressed in that video clip (unbelievably), and look how well it did, she has the talent to be an incredible role model, but instead she wears a hankerchief
