That or they just don't understand how signatures work and seeing things attached to other people's posts did their best to mimic it themselves.

okay..probably a stupid question..but how can you add a sugnature? i looked in the "edit profile" section, and i don't see the box

This might help you, taken from the FAQ:

New users are not allowed to have signatures until they are graduated from the moderation queue

And when you are allowed to have a signature, go to "User CP" and there will be a link that says "Edit Signature"

The sig is too big. Somebody... Please?

Oh, and could someone PM me with how you make the filezise smaller? So I don't have to bug someone each time I want a new sig.

EDIT: Nevermind, I found a way to do it myself.

Actually, could someone please tell ME how to make the filesize smaller? I can make my sigs in photoshop now but I'm still figuring out how to use it. Even if I save the image as a JPEG or something like that the filesize is still too big. I can't find out how to make it smaller so if someone could tell me I'd really appreciate it.
