I have now heard lacrymosa, and I must say, bravo. A standout track. I felt the emotion in it, it's well made, I can't wait to hear it live. Just wow. And I find it more mature than some of the other break up tracks. Sound, lyrics, the whole thing.

This and CMWYS are the only songs I've heard so far from the new album...I'm saving hearing the rest for when I actually buy it.
I sort of feel like the song was broken into pieces. I'm in love with the first half, and I love the way it gradually keeps building up and up into a classic Ev-style BOOM! chorus. But then, just as I was expecting a continuation of the BOOM-ness, there was this weird distorted 'Looove', and the song dropped into emptiness. It was a bit of an anticlimax. And following that was what, at first, sounded like an unstructured mess, some of which reminds me strongly of CMWYS...followed by a guitar solo that just doesn't quite do it for me...followed by another good dose of BOOM. The high note (I believe it's an E) Amy hits with the final "Hold you back now" sends chills up my spine every time I hear it. So...I guess when you average everything out...it gets an "OK" rating, IMO. ![]() |

This is defentetly my favorite song Ive heard evanescence do on this album and I can't wait for it to come out as a single. I also believe that this is Amy's favorite song of the album and that she chose "call me when youre sober" as the first single to send a message to everyone of what she felt and now that she did that she will now enjoy the rest of the songs and the tours.
THIS SONG WILL BE THE BEST PLEASURE OF MUSIC ANYONE WOULD EVER HAVE AND WILL BECOME THE #1 SONG OF THE YEAR FOR EVANESCENCE -DAVID ~text resized from 5 to 2. ~mercury_amy~ Last edited by mercury_amy : 09-13-2006 at 07:46 PM. |

This is my favorite song on the album. It's just so damn good. I can understand when people say it's less "epic" than one would expect, but it's certanly an amazing song nontheless.
I also REALLY hope this is the third single. I honestly think it could be very successful. Well, I hope at least. Some narrow minded people will probably get turned off by the choir and strings. I"m not kidding. I played the song for my mom and she liked it. But, she said she didn't like the choir. She said it sounded like satanic music. Don't think my mom's a big churchgoer or anything. Hell, I don't know the last time she went to church or made and real religous affiliation. My point is, I don't think the general public will accept Lacrymosa the same way we do. lol, I think I switched sides there in the middle. I think this would be a great single, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's not very well received because it's different. |
