Lacrymosa
The Open Door, Track #7
Written By: Amy Lee and Terry Balsamo Choir performance by Millenium Choir -Used in the 30 second trailer for The Open Door A 22-cord orchestra led by Dave Campbell (with whom Evanescence had already worked for their performance at the Billboard Awards 2004) starts off in order to introduce a choir, which serves as back up for Amy’s singing. Amy: ‘Dave Campbell is an enormous inspiration source for me, he’s so talented. The way he arranges orchestral parts is remarkable. It's the element of our music that makes me cry!'' The guitar solo of Terry in the middle of the song adds to its beauty before the choir closes with a note doing a decrescendo. Recorded in a chapel near Seattle, we have here the second pearl of the album. Credit goes to julie for translation. Taken from ToD News Thread. The song features nearly the entire score as presented in Mozart's Requiem, part III - "Lacrimosa". The term "lacrimosa," or "lacrymosa" means "weeping" / "to weep" in latin. Here are the lyrics for Mozart's original score, which are featured in the BG of Ev's song. ``Lacrymosa dies illa, qua resurget ex favilla judicandus homo reus. Huic ergo parce Deus, pie Jesu Domine, dona eis requiem! Amen!`` Source: Dai, The Good Rev + Team LeCompt. --- Quote:
------ LACRYMOSA Out on your own cold and alone again can this be what you really wanted, baby? Blame it on me set your guilt free nothing can hold you back now Now that you're gone I feel like myself again grieving the things I can't repair and willing ... to let you blame it on me and set your guilt free I don't want to hold you back now love I can't change who I am not this time, I wont lie to keep you near me and in this short life, there's no time to waste on giving up my love wasn't enough and you can blame it on me just set your guilt free, honey I don't want to hold you back now love Last edited by mercury_amy : 10-03-2006 at 07:16 AM. |

Well now at least I know what she's singing...I couldn't figure it out from the clip.
Thanks! *I love how I completely didn't notice the lyrics were right there for days...* Quote:

reading the lyrics and listening to the song, it seems like Amy is really beginning to get over the whole scenario with Shaun. Just like with CMWYS, she sounds so empowered, moved on, and an improved person. An amazing song! *reps to teh Ames*

THANK YOU FOR THE LYRICS!! There were a lot of confusing parts in there, and unless you know the lyrics, it's almost impossible to figure them out
![]() I guess I would have to describe this song as 'Old school evanescence' It retains the very good epic qualities of 'Fallen,' yet it shows just how much the band has grown. btw, TERRY IS THE BEST THING TO HAPPEN TO EVANESCENCE EVER OMGz THAT GUITAR SOLO TOWARDS THE END MADE ME CREAM MYSELF(done).
