The "----- is my number one fav band" part was saying how I'm not like that because to me all the bands and singers I like are equal. Some may know how to do something better than the other but that doesn't make them number one. I'm not into making lists but I'm not saying making lists is ignorant. Got it? Again I apologize. nevrslpnevrdie No it wasn't directly toward you. It was towards those Britney fans who fight with the Christina fans or the Beyonce fans because Britney is better but they don't even care to look for other pop artists that have talent. You know what I mean? |

OK, this webspace is open to everybody, we are in the indie bands area and this thread is about Lacuna Coil. But that doesn't change the fact that this is Evanescence's fans webspace. And I don't see any reasons why a 30 years old experienced singer should have discussions and fights with 15 years old kids on another band's forum. Cristina, come on... just let it go... Everybody knows you don't really like Evanescence and "don't care for Amy Lee a whole great deal", but at the end of the day you jump back and forth on this Evanescence message board to talk to Evanescence fans about your band. So what's the deal? There are a few other bands people talk about in here very often (The Gathering, Nightwish etc.) but I haven't seen Anneke or Tarja join any discussions... As I don't think Amy Lee comes to Lacuna Coil's fans forum to join discussions about Evanescence anyway. And you know better than I do that Lacuna Coil's recent success is due to the fact that Evanescence opened the mainstream door to you guys. OK, you guys have been around for much longer and many critics say that Evanescence are a ripp-off of Lacuna Coil, but don't forget that Lacuna Coil started enjoying mainstream international success because Evanescence made the hard rock female fronted band formula a lot more popular and appealing than in the past. Otherwise you guys would still be struggling in the underground circuits. "Comalies" came out in 2002, but became popular among mainstream fans in late 2003 because Evanescence's "Fallen" had opened the door for it. If it wasn't for the success of radio hits / videos like "Bring me to life" and "Going Under", radios and MTV would have never started playing "Heaven's a lie". I mean, the song came out in late 2002, but it started receiving attention in late 2003, how come? If it wasn't for Evanescence and their fans' webspace, there wouldn't be a 63 pages thread about Lacuna Coil. |

Guys, you need to like, grow up. I don't see why someone needs to come in here and bash the artist in the thread title, but it'll happen and we just need to deal with it. Pretend it didn't happen, or peacefully educate that person and go on your merry way. Now. I think Lacuna Coil has a better stage presence than Evanescence, but bear in mind they've been touring a lot longer. Ev's got lots of growing to do.

Finally someone who agrees with me.
Just to set the record straight, though I think I've pointed this out before: I love LC's music. I just got a very bad impression of Christina. Anyways, the thing that I think is funny is that I've listened to LC for a while now, almost two years and I know that they've been around longer, but even Christina has to admit that the whole reason the LC has made it to the mainstream is because Evanescence opened the door for them. And honestly, I know that I do kinda sound like a bitch but usually I don't have a whole lot of time to post and so I don't really have time to explain myself. When I read these LC interview I was seriously depressed all day because I felt so disillusioned. I loved LC so much and when I love a band I tend to believe that everyone in the band is a great person (I know that's dumb). But anyways, when I read those articles and I felt betrayed almost. BTW, why'd you guys cancel on the tour with type O negative? I was so pysched to see you. Anyways, I hope that offers some more insight. I meant no personal attack. PS~I couldn't choose between Ev and LC, they're just so different that I just don't put the two together at all. The really funny thing is that I heard someone compare Nightwish to Evanescence...go figure.
