I think this song is just SO beautiful, its beyond words!! Its so very deep, emotional, Heartful, and just so much feeling!! I always cry to this song whenever I hear it!! This must be one of the songs Amy has ever written, that she holds the closest to her heart!! Its very personal, and I am truly honored, that she is able to share it with all of us!! It takes so much, courage, faith, Hope, believe, and Strength to write a song so deep as this one!! Amy, you are such an insperation, and show so much strength, I will always be greatful, honor, respect, and support, and always stand by you!! Thank you for always being Just YOU!! YOU ROCK AMY, AND YOU ARE AlWAyS # 1!!! MANY BIG HUGS TO YOU!!

It is so unbelievable how Amy can write something so sad like this. (Of course I understand that this song is for her sister and I appreciate that with all of my heart) but although it's just a song and I'm almost in tears when listening to this song.

I lost a sister in Feb 2006, and this cd came out like 8 or 9 mounths later. when I heard this song before I got all the way throught I was in tears. It's still really heard to hear this song. I really felt the pain of it and still do, The hardest part is the part when she says *I Hate me for breathing with out you* Thats how I felt for weeks after I lost my sis. She was older then me so she was always there then to lose her it was like losing myself. . I just wish it would have came out sooner, it may have helped me thought it sooner, This song was like theropy, I could just play it over and over and let all of the emotions go, and not feel alone for once.

This song is another favorite of mine on The Open Door. The lyrics are deep, sad, powerful, and I like hard it somewhat starts off slow in a way but gets a little heavy at the end with the guitar. Another great song.

This is the only Ev song that gives me chills and goosebumps. Just listening to Amy sing, she sounds so...like she only lost her sister yesterday, you know? A lot of emotion went into it, which must have made it very hard to record...the song literally makes me cry, the lyrics just make me want to cry for hours. I can't imagine the pain behind those lyrics, I really can't...

"THE humming, haunted somewhere out there"

Yeah, just clearing that up.

I personally adore this song. It's so deep and powerful. I know tons of people like Hello better, but I prefer this one. It makes me cry 80% of the time I listen to it.

Here's a random bit of info: in the piano book, the lyrics "I long to be like you, sis, like cold in the ground like you did" weren't there. It was just the same chorus as at the beginning. Maybe Amy just thought of adding that beautiful part to the song during recording? I don't know...

I feel so sad for Amy that she still feels like she'd want to be in the cold ground with her sister - I wonder if she has actually dealt with her grief, because it seems like the two songs, Hello and Like You are songs in which she openly grieves, while she's singing, if you know what I mean...

i know how she feels in the song cuz i lost my uncle when i was really young also wich i deeply loved alot and i think my whole family just forgot him so i can relate to this song so much its truly beutifull

Among other ones as well, all at the same time.
I don't like to mension this, because its really personal to Amy,
But I know exactly how she feels, when she lost her little
sister, 20 years ago.
I don't know what, or what it takes to get past the grieving stage,
or how to over come, and of the feelings and emotions I am feeling
right now.
This is one of the very main reasons, As to why, I really respect Amy
We can relate to SO many things, and have been through so many of the exact same things as well.
This is also why I will always stand by her, and always defend her.
She writes such amazing music, it just
captures Everything you are possibly feeling inside.

It's just "Humming, haunted somewhere out there."

If anything people would think it's "A humming, haunted somewhere out there," because Amy puts air behind it so she doesn't glottal.
