I agree and personally prefer like you than hello. I also think it's way more personal.
Like, in hello you could assume it was about other things, not just death of her sister. But in like you, it is the only theme the song addresses. |

This is the one Ev song, I would feel like,
right now. Amy and I, don't have the exact same situation, but very simular, just in a different way. I Know exactly how she feels, and exactly what she is, and was going through. I lost my son, and with her, she lost her sister, who she loved very dearly, and who she will Never stop loving her. This is the exact same way, I will always feel towards my very own son. This song means so very much to me, and will always be in my heart. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I love this song, it's the only song from Ev that ever made me cry... sort of... I just love it, and I can relate to it in a way, it's simply a beautiful song with breathtaking lyrics, it gives me chills every time I hear it...

That song the first time I heard it was amazing... and the line "I hate me for breathing without you" is so powerful... and the emotion in her voice sent shivers up and down my spine...
The song is wonderful and the music compliments the song so perfectly

Songs like these, make me think in a whole other way.
I would never take my siblings for granted, because you never know, it is just that fast, you can lose them, and have to live with all that regret, for the rest of your life. I am sure, that one memory still haunts Amy, but she has learned how to deal with it now, and knows her little sister watches her up from heaven. ![]() ![]()

I definitely prefer Hello over Like You. I feel that you'd really need to be a true musical artist to write something like Hello, whereas, I feel as though any amateur could've written Like You; there just isn't any depth to it like there is with Hello. I honestly don't care for songs that are very superficial in meaning, because I think music should be more than that and real artists will create music above that.
Of course there's something to be said about being straightforward and honest, but I don't believe it was the best approach in terms of the content of these songs, especially now that we're able to compare the two back to back. It's an emotional song, but that's because it's about losing a family member... the content of the song creates the interest, not the song itself. Whereas Hello has more to stand on.
