The other song she sang was a cover, "Edge of Seventeen", originally sung by STEVIE NICKS. That cover is on her next album. -edit- Holy shit, Jessica Simpson has infiltrated my mind. Gosh, I need to get the remake of "These Boots Are Made For Walking" out of my head. Edge of Seventeen is by Stevie Nicks.

Edit: MTV has leaked Lindsay Lohan's new album entitled "A Little More Personal (Raw)" here, http://www.mtv.com/sitewide/apps/med...ic/&adPN=index It's really good. I like "Black Hole" the best; it's an awesome song. "Edge of Seventeen" comes as my close second.

I've heard quite a few of her songs, and what I do like is that she has strong, commercial lyrics. They're personal and yet with them she can connect to a range of audiences. However, on her most recent album I didn't feel as if I heard enough of her voice on there. She doesn't showcase her voice at all, and it makes me wonder whether she even has the range or the power to care it off. I believe she should really try to own these songs, because the way they sound now, they could never jump out at me... she needs to bring something to the table so that we can recognize her voice as hers; recognize that it's brilliant.
End. |

She hasn't shown her full voice. However, judging by what I've seen live, she needs help from her backup singers. I always found something odd. In Mean Girls, when their CD player malfunctioned during the talent show, she started to sing and was singing the right tone. However, singing live, she sings out of pitch. It's odd. Her lyrics on A Little More Personal: I like them. Sure, some of them may seem like their diary entry-esque, but for the most part, they're actually, believe or not, personal.

I've heard the album and I like the song "My Innocence" and "Confessions of a Broken Heart." Aside from these two, I did not enjoy the other songs. I didn't feel that there was anything new in the music. It was just standard pop music. Although, I am only discussing the music, here, not the lyrics.
