Original Post: There's a rumor, and on here, that Amy wrote this as a SENIOR prject, but in the unauthorised DVD, After Midnight, the woman who is talking, sorry can't think of the word, says something like "John was getting tired of his DROP OUT daughter." Somewhere along those lines, and as the woman was saying this they showed a cascading picture of Amy. Anyone know anything about this. But I know for a fact that Amy played the piano in this song though, unless who, and where, I heard it from was lying or tried to pass it off as they knew what they were talking about.
Edited Post: The woman on the unauthorised DVD, After Midnight, says something about John gettin gtire dof his drop-out daughter. Ok. On the unarthourized DVD "After Midnight," it's a quote about Amy being a drop-out. "Creative duces were flowing, but Amy's dad was getting tired of his drop-out daughter." John says: "When your child is in development, out of college, as a parent you're kinda going 'Yea.. okay great.' because you're really waiting for something to happen and nothings happening. Ah.. in development you're writing, you're depressed, you're the poor musician that has nothing. You're occasionally going to the beach to get your head together, uhm you go to the movies a little bit. There's not much going on and when people say 'Hey, what's your daughter doing? Is she in college?' I -- I had kinda grown tired of Ben being in the band and all that 'cause I didn't think they were getting anywhere." The the woman, who is narrating, says something that Amy and the band had their hearts set on the big time, and Pete Mathews went to L.A. and showed someone at Wind-Up, after a meeting, "Origin" and they said "Yes." He, Pete, played Amy's "My Immortal" and he said there wasn't a dry eye in the room, or somethign to that stance. So was the woman talking about High School or College? Excuse my double post, but it's actually "That story be more than it found" The pronunciation is a little off so it sounds like "hit ground" or "hide" but it's "found" in my book. And just notice how on "Please" it sounds like "Prealse." But "Hit ground" seems like it wound fit but i'm just not hearing "ground." Last edited by mercury_amy : 07-21-2006 at 03:22 PM. |

Yeah, it's def. a song where the lyrics can be misheard because of the choir singing.
I actually attempted to suggest this song to my choir director in hopes she'd have one of our choirs sing it, but she didn't give me an answer, which usually means no. Still a beautiful song, and to think a highschooler wrote that is just inspiration to all us highschoolers out there looking for inspiration in the music department. Ann |

I have kind of an ending to this song. It's called "Outro" and it's about 35 seconds long. It's kind of like a wooshy sound. I dont' know how to explain it. Is supposed to be on Origin? Cause i know this song cuts off really fast at the end on "Listen." I wasn't sure...
![]() EDIT: It's from the album Le Nouveau Gothique {which i think is a bootleg isn't it?} Last edited by xWriTeMeASoNgx3 : 07-21-2006 at 02:09 PM. |
