Lowered Expectations - EvBoard

I have been watching the moderator queue for a while, and it appears to me that it is very very difficult to get out of the queue right now.

So, to help encourage the new quality members to stick around, I've decided to lower the expectations of new users to get out of the moderator queue.

Here are the new rules:

You must have 100 points in reputation OR be registered for 21 days AND have 25 posts that have made it through the queue.

This splits the pressure between current members as well as the moderator team. Make sure you are repping people that you feel should make it out of the moderator queue. For this system to work, you need to do your part!

Hopefully this will help to draw in some good quality new members while still discouraging the crowd that we don't want here.

PS: Remember that if you want to instantly bypass the moderator queue, you can do so by becoming a paid subscriber. This gets you out and into the wilds of EvBoard while helping to keep this place running smoothly.

I prefer this idea. The fist time it took me 3 months to get out of the mod queue.

Now we'll have more members posting and hopefully it'll be a lot more fun!

Finally you did it! Very right decision. Ok, question, what happens to the reps they're given out after being out of the queue? Are they still grey and will be grey till newbies have 100 post and turn into junior members?

Their rep points being grey has nothing to do with them being in the mod queue. You give grey dots until your reputation power gets above 10. It would be possible to have a reputation power above 10 and still be in the mod queue if you were a new user who got a ton of reps to begin with. And rep points given are determined by what your reputation power is when you leave the rep points, it doesn't adjust as your reputation power goes up (or down) later.

How do you get the reputation power then? Is it proportional to the number of reps you get, or number of rep points?

*understand why some people give more points than others now though*
