Ok, now, first off if you are not a Mariah fan, PLEASE don't come in here and start bashing her, because you don't need to do that

. But I didn't find a thread on her, and I know there are some people here who like MC, so since her new album is due out in March, I thought it was time to start a thread about her.

I have been a fan of hers since 1996, and I just absolutly LOVE her music! Her voice is amazing, and her writing talent is too. I had the great pleasure of meeting her last year, and it was a real dream come true!

So, anyway, where are my other MC fans??!! Don't be shy

so as i said to you in another thread her voice is magical, and she's a very talented singer, but as i said early too i didn't like her actress debut
I didn't know about her new album, so thanks.

Yea, her new album is due out in March next year

. It is supposed to be REALLY hot! So I'm excited, that I hope she comes back. She was the best selling female artist of the 90s, and I hope she can make her mark in this decade.

Once upon a time I was a big fan of Mariah untill her divorce, after that she changed her music style and I didn't like it, the poor duets and her (bitchy) image changed the way I apreciate her music, besides that I love her albums until that period, I bought all of them 'till then, after that I must say I download the new albums from the net just for old times sake, hoping she realizes what she has done! Don't know if she lost many fans, but I know some of us don't see her like we did one day...

Well, Butterfly was one of her best albums

. And her new album coming out in March is getting a lot of Buzz, especially by people who don't really like her. Charmbracelet wasn't too bad, but I think her new album will be better.

After Daydream none of the new albums atracted me that much to the point of buying them... just see...

Butterfly (1997) - was ok
#1's (1998) - nothing new
Rainbow (1999) - thumbs down
Glitter (2001) - OMG! It's a nightmare like the movie...
Greatest Hits (2001) - nothing new
Charmbracelet (2002) - Through The Rain was ok
Remixes (2003) - remixes I hate them!

Well, ok, that's your opinion, but MC had to change with the times. There is no way that if she released Music Box now that it would be a hit. But again, i'm hoping that what I have been hearing is true, and that her next album will be one of her best in years.

Her first single off of her next project features Snoop Dogg.

It's called Say Something.

The album itself has been entitled "The Emancipation of Mimi"...whatever that means...

Knowing that the title was very different for me and might cause some confusion, I had a whole explanation to go along with the press release which was supposed to come out in February, but basically that got foiled.

So here it is..."Mimi" is a very personal nickname only used by those closest to me...just one of those little things that I've kept for myself in an attempt to have some delineation between a public persona and a private life.

By naming the album The Emancipation of Mimi I am letting my guard down and inviting my fans to be that much closer to me..Most importantly, I am celebrating the fact that I've grown into a person and artist who no longer feels imprisoned by my insecurities or compelled to try and live up to someone else's vision of "Mariah Carey" I now feel I can honestly say "this is me, the real me, take it or leave it" For the first time in my life, I feel free and unashamed to be who I really am..And that's what the music of this album and it's title reflect..

As always, I love ya, appreciate ya and I enjoy ya!!! MC a.k.a Mimi.

And her new track "Say Something" leaked, and I heard (but won't share, so don't ask), and it is great! It is really different, but it is something new for the radio, so I'm hoping it will do well.
