I too am a Seether fan. When the CMWYS situation came about I was terribly disappointed in Amy/Ev. I don't believe that Shaun is a "horrible person". And I don't believe it was the world's business to know anything having to do with the circumstances of the break up. Shaun said it best when he responded to CMWYS, saying that he was disappointed that their relationship was reduced to "oh woe is me, you drink and ignore me". Obviously, coming out of a tour where they were constantly together there was going to be less time for calls, etc.

All I know is that Shaun did experience a time in the past year where his personality changed, but that was due to addiction, and I'm sure the stress of the public breakup, more exposure, criticism, being away from family, fans judging him, etc had to do with it. Anyone who has met Shaun knows he doesn't typically go out of his way to be a jerk. Most of the time he doesn't "act like a rockstar" so if anything it should be Amy who's under a microscope. Not to mention when was the last time Amy took a second to respond to fan mail, or posts on a bulletin board that asked for guidance, maybe even spend time with fans at a bar... Seether and Shaun = appreciate fans/act in respectful manner towards fans, Ev = make fans satisfied by doing what is required of them/aka what W-U wants. See the dichotomy?

And I agree... to call someone a drunk when while on tour Amy was also doing a lot of drinking is being a hypocrite. Being a bitch, ignoring others, being a diva, money hungry, abusing of whatever substance, refusing to go out and see fans, or whatever Amy wants to do... is only ok when she's doing it.

Perhaps I'm blowing things out of proportion and maybe there was a reason why all of this happened with Ev... but Amy is the constant in all of this, so I find it difficult to blame her conduct on anything other then her personality and her choices.

I'm going to step out of the Amy bashing fold for a second and just say this...

Perhaps there actually IS a reason why she fired John. In the post made by her younger sister, she says John was very unhappy with the state of Evanescence and wanted to part ways for a long time. None of us know the events that led to her actually firing him -- but I don't think Amy would fire John for no good reason. There is nothing she can gain from doing that but backlash, and from what I could tell, they seemed to be friends.

I just think we need a little more information (from anyone really. I know Amy will probably sugar coat the whole thing, but perhaps in the near future the truth will in one way or the other come out from SOMEONE).

But again, I am disappointed in how everything went down and hope the best for anyone involved in this debacle.

Going by what John has said about this though, he wasn't ready to leave the band just yet. This hit him by surprise, and when he's talking about the family that he has to take care of, it's quite evident that he wasn't looking to drop out anytime soon.

Hmm, I was tempted to do the same thing many times but something always stopped me, be it money or family shit. Anyway, I am now very glad I did not do that. I will save my money to go see Machina, at least I know my fandom will be appreciated by them.
