Movies everyone should own

So, my roommate and I are compiling a list of movies we would like to have on DVD. Every so often one of us will shout out a movie name and scramble for a pen and paper to write it down so we can put it on The List O' Films later.

So I'm asking you to help us. What are some movies you think everyone should own? The List needs you!

Name some movies and tell me why you think Sheep and I should spend out hard-earned cash on them. We might listen to you.

To suggest a few must-owns IMO, The Breakfast Club, Donnie Darko, Edward Scissorhands, Grease, Titanic, Casablanca, The Godfather, The Wizard of Oz, Schindler's List, Psycho.. and then there's the Disney classics like Lion King and Little Mermaid and all those.. which I have all of them on VHS.. hmm...

That's just a few I can think of off the top of my head, there's plenty more.

(I'm also guessing that all of those old movies have come out on DVD? I don't know.)

Scratch Titanic off that list.

Forrest Gump, The Princess Bride, Better Off Dead, The Exorcist, The Silence of the Lambs, Star Wars (Parts 4, 5, and 6 only), American Psycho, and The Big Lebowski.

It really depends on what kind of movies you like. But the ones I just listen I think are classic everyone needs.

My boyfriend says "Basketball" needs to be on the list, but I don't think it HAS to be. Good movie, but not a classic. Oh, maybe Fight Club though.

We like ALL kinds of movies. This past week I bought The Magnificent Seven, Shrek, The Constant Gardener, Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?, Beauty and the Beast, Capote, and one of my personal favorites of all time, Alfred Hitchcock's Rebecca.

Some of the stuff you guys have listed we already own, but keep 'em coming! I'm open to anything.
