Good morning to everybody,
I just came back from one of the most amazing experiences in my life, I saw Evanescence live. Although I'm really, really tired, since I went from Crete to Athens and back in only two days, I have to saw a few things about the concert.
This was the first time that Evanescence came to Greece and being a fan from day one I had to be there. So together with two friends we went to see them. A friend of mine had gotten the tickets for us and all we had to do was to pick them up there. Imagine my surprise and my anger when we arrived outside the amphitheater and they told us that we had no tickets and the concert was, of course, sold out two weeks ago. I was going insane. Since we had gotten there early, I could hear Evanescence doing their soundcheck and Amy singing Thougtless and they just told me that I wouldn't be able to see them. I thought that it was some king of sick joke. We decided to stay anyway, and for three hours we were watching everybody else getting in. Five minutes before the show started a security guard came to us and asked if we had tickets. After saying no he asked if we wanted to get in. The answer was obvious so he got us in and gave us the tickets. It turned out that the people who organized the concert had set abou 20-30 tickets aside. We were of those lucky few who got three of them, because a lot of people were waiting just like us, outside, without a ticket. If the security guard ever reads this I have to say one thing to him: I love you! Thank you, thank you, thank you. I can't say it enough times.
Now to the show, at exactly nine o'clock Seether came onto the stage and from the beginning they had the crowd on their side. The totally rocked and gave everything. The people were singing and screaming their lungs out.

Ok, sorry for double posting but the Internet explorer is trying to drive me insane. Everytime I hit the Save button for the post to appear I get a message saying the there was some kind of error and that the explorer is shutting down. So I'm going to write the rest of my review in another post, sorry again.

After the performance of Seether, which lasted about 45 minuted, we had to wait for another 30 minutes while they got everything ready for Evanescence. And then we could hear the first notes of Haunted and the guys and Amy got on stage. That was it. The crowd went berserk. Everybody, those who were standing and those who were seated stood up and sang and screamed and cheered. During the whole show no one was sitting and everybody was singing every word of every song. It was incredible to see and to hear such a thing. Evanescence were more than great, more than amazing I can't describe it. The guys were so good and Amy was just wow. She kept running and spinning around, never missing a beat or a note. Although I love their CD and the quality of it,nothing can be compared to hear those songs live. Amy's voice had me, and not only me, screaming, crying and laughing at the same time. At one time, during My Immortal I looked behind me and everybody was holding up either a lighter, a cell phone or one of those lighting sticks, incredible.
Evanescence played their usual setlist with Zero and Whisper after the encore. Then Rocky and John came back on stage and threw their picks and drumsticks into the crowd. And then it was over, of course to soon! At the end Amy said that they will back to Greece during their next European tour, I can't wait!
Sorry if this post is a bit long but I had to get this out. I have to go now, because after thirty two hours without a sleep I feel kind of dead.

I can relate to your amazement because I have seen so many videos of Ev live.

hehe i was there too but i had a ticket long before the concert ;)
it was so much better than i thought it would be and amy lee's voice was superb. And i think im gonna be a seether fan hehe..they were great too!i bought one of their t shirts and i plan on buying their cds (i think they have 2 or sth).
elvira_inheaven can you tell me seether's tracklist (at the concert)? i really dont know their songs.

Can't wait until evanescence/seether come back :D

I really hope so, I mean Evanescence are really better than that what is on #1 right now. But you have to know that people here in Greece are a bit strange about non-greek music. I was really surprised that Fallen got double platin in the first place.

And i think im gonna be a seether fan hehe...

I was there too! OMG, it was absolutely fantastic! Nothing compares to the live experience and nothing had prepared me..for what I lived that Friday night! I mean, I was a big fan of the band, heard all their songs, seeing videos of them performing live and all that stuff.. but being there...It was just...WOW!

Amy was a goodness, her voice keeps amaze me! The audience was great- cheering and singing every single song... Amy said something like 'You guys are awesome, we can't even hear ourselves'

Of course Seether were great,too... Shaun broke his guitar at the end of their show and they threw pieces of it into the crowd.

I also saw some Greek singers + celebs on the audience and that was cool! ;)

I soooooo hope that they'll come back in Greece!! I can't wait to see them again- it was such a great experience!

I don't think you can actually compare the two. They are both are 2 totally different bands. I love Seether & I love Evanescence but both for different reasons :) Plus everyone in both band are soo extremely nice :)

Oh..no. I totally agree, considering this IS EvBoard, everyone most likely prefers Evanescence :) I'm just saying that you can't really put Ev in a category with anyone :) And Seether is one of the few bands over the past few years, besides Ev, that I can actually put on their CD and listen to the whole thing through without having to skip any songs :)

Anyway, back on topic. Yay for the concert in Greece!! :)

Great! If I had known about the concert, I would have planned my vacation a week earlier instead of missing it by two days and having to only read about it in a magazine. Wouldn't it be nice to know about concerts 3 months ahead of time? At least the rest of my trip to Hellas was fun (including watching France get beat in soccer and seeing the celebrations all over Athens).

The city of Athens is going through a major city beautification program in preparation for the Olympics in 47 days.
Also, I did hear BMTL while shopping in Plaka which I certainly enjoyed.

Hi Elvira!I'm also from Greece(Athens)and I certanly went to the Evanescence concert!It was amazing!I had bought my tickets the first day!I was there from 3.15 and I was really really close to the stage!The guys were unbelievable :D !From the first day I heard and loved Evanescence I wanted to see them live!The show was beyong my expectations!Unfortunately it ended too early and i wanted to hear some Origin songs.I'm so glad that i can chat with someone from Greece who went to the concert!Ah,I too enjoyed Seether and I bought their albums.They are good but they cannot be compared with Evanescence!!!
