I'm very familiar with the venue this will be playing, and it is a rather large semi-stadium auditorium.. This is far different from the previous medium clubs that Evanescence has played in the past, since the back of the Music Theatre is all forest (whereas, you would usually go around back to meet the band)..
So I'm wondering now, how do you try to meet the band at a venue like this?..

Yes.
I so want to go to this concert but it is an hour away and I can't drive(haven't bothered with training, wish I did now) and my friend who wants to go with me just got her licence and our moms aren't sure about the whole thing.

Tickets go on sale today at 10am. As soon as I get off of work I'm gonna go get mine. It'll be my 2nd Evanescence show. My first was at the Great American Rib-off last May. It was only $6 for Evanescence, 12 Stones, and Julianna's Theory. This year the rib-off features Saliva and Shinedown for $7. The show at DTE is gonna be awesome. 4 big bands for the price of 1 or 2.
Havok out.

Where are you from? Maybe you could ride with us. Plenty of time to meet the parents so they'd be comfortable letting you go with us. We are coming from Westland, Livonia, Detroit and Redford as a group. Adults and kids. I'm bringing my two daughters. It will be my youngest childs first concert.

The usual...busses and such are in the area behind the stage...don't quite know how you'd get back to the busses. It's all fenced in back there. I say go early and do some exploring. If you're facing the entrance, you'd want to go to the left around the pavillion. (if I remember correctly)
It's still Pine Knob to me! Always will be!

I live in the Downriver area. Thanks for the offer but my mom would just about kill me if i proposed that to her, she got really freaked out when I was in a chat room(all those 20/20 shows about that)
I've been listening to 93.1drq (I loathe this station by the way) for the last 6 hours waiting for a ticket give away. I called last night and a guy said they would be giving some away tonight, and I'm guessing if i win the tickets there would be no other choice but to go. Heres hoping :)
I wish I posted something before but you could of bought the tickets early if you were on the e-team, they emailed you a secret code(wasn't very secret by the way) and you could by the tickets on tuesday

I got my tickets today as well. Waited outside for around 45 minutes with a friend of mine basically by ourselves. Then a older man on a motorcycle showed up and we talked with him for a bit, and then about 5 two two boys showed up as well. Well even though we were first in line, it seems we got jipped because our lady didn't really know too much, so we ended up with Center Stage Row M. While the older man ended up with 2nd row, and the boys with Row G. I mean still good seats, but it would of been so awesome to be in 2nd row...
Out of curiosity... anyone know if we're allowed like disposable cameras? Because I read DTE's policy and they said its up to the band. Also anyone know about maybe getting back stage or what not, I'm figuring thats really just knowing the right people, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Evanescence, Seether, 3 Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, 6:30 p.m. at DTE Energy Music Theatre, $40.50 pavilion, $18.50 lawn.

DTE (http://www.palacenet.com/content.cfm?category=2&pageid=786) You can kinda look up your seats. They don't have a full map, but your seats are in front of the sound booth, you lucky camper! 13th row. I don't know what they do about the orchestra pit at a concert.
I know but mentioning the idea of meeting someone online would have her cut me off from the computer completly. I wouldn't mind meeting someone in a public place but she is suspicious of people online.
Silly me! I would probably be the same way. It's not like when I was kid and the world was a much safer place. I'm not sneaky enough to even think of a way around the online problem, except that maybe you could "accidently" meet my daughter somewhere like, the mall, and "gee mom, i met this chick at the mall and she's going with her mom and sis to see Ev". That's as dishonest as I can get. After all, I'm a parent too and I wouldn't want my daughter to get any more dishonest than that with me.

My mom called and got 4 tickets as soon as they went on sale. She told me that the machine said we were in the Pavillion, but in Row 888, seats 8-11. I was confused that we got a section so far back since she had called right when they went on sale. So I went on the DTE site and looked at the seating chart to see where we were. Turns out, there was no 888 but there was a row AAA, the first fucking row! I was so excited, because I've never been able to see Ev live. I was convinced that they weren't going to do another tour in the US until atleast the new album came out, because they'd already been on the road for over a year. But what do ya know... :D

Yea, baby!" and kept screaming until his girlfriend shut him up :D Anyways, that was SUCH an awesome concert! All the bands were great, Broken was amazing. haha, right before Broken, Shaun said something like "This is the only fucking song anybody knows/cares about (couldn't tell which one of those he said) anymore!" There were also these 2 drunk guys next to me, who apparantly loved Seether. They were singing along (as best they could  ), and whenever they got to the part "Why try to stay sober, feels like I'm dying again", I cracked up. It was also cool to see the differences in the bands- I mean, like how the stage was set. Breaking Benjamin and Three Days Grace didn't really have anything special, and Seether had a huge banner-ish thing with the band name and the Disclaimer II CD cover picture, and some special lighting. Then Ev had the whole thing- they turned on the video screen things (don't know what they are called) on the side of the stage, they had the fog machine, awesome lights, and, of course, the huge "e" logo. That was my first rock concert (sad, I know  ) but it was amazing. Was anyone there when the Breaking Benjamin lead singer did an imitation of BMTL? It was hilarious. He said after them it would be Three Days Grace, then Seether, then "the lovely evanescence". Then he started singing "How can you see into my eyes", imitating Amy (high voice and everything, hehe). Anyways, great night, great show. Oh, and at the end, (after Ev went off stage) this one guy jumped on the stage, and the security guards got him really fast. Then Amy came out laughing and they played Whisper as an encore. Well, this is my longest post ever :p, normally I'm too shy to say anything :(
Great show :D

The concert was amazing, i cried when she sang, "breath no more." so after the concert i guess they were passing out stickers to go hang out with the band, unfortuinatly no one gave one to me, it was like an overall of 10 stickers were passed out. So i was all moody and down in the dumps untill i saw a sticker stuck to the sidewalk. I rip it off, stick it on me, then headed to the gate. A man walked me down and after a while of waiting, band members slowy began to come out. I talked to Shawn and Terry for a long time. I also talked to John. Everyone signed my gutair strap. I was slowly trying to make my way over to Amy. I was so scared of what to say and how to act! But when i finally got over there she was so cool and down to earth, well so was everyone else, espically shawn and terry. But Amy and i talked about alot of things it was GREAT! she signed my snow white purse and my gutiar strap! i will never forget that!

That is so great that you were able to get in. How long after they went off did they start handing out stickers? I wondered how that would work. What kind of seats did you have? I had row GG right center. I thought about trying to make it down front while everyone else was leaving but i wasn't sure if anyone else would be staying. I would love to hear about what you guys talked about.

Wow! That is great that you were able to get back there to meet everyone. How long after the lights came on did they hand out the stickers? How close where your seats? I had GG right center. I thought about going down to the front once people started leaving but i wasn't sure if anyone else was staying and the people i was with probably wouldn't have wanted to go with me. I would love to hear about what you guys talked about. I cried so much at the show. It was so beautiful! Her voice is moving no matter how much you hear it. I would have just froze if i had tried to talk to her.

I guess they passed them out a longtime before the show was over. I was in row X. Then we went down to the stage when everyone was clearing out, we got yelled at.
Lets see, John and I talked about everything including gaff tape. Shawn and i talked for the longets, along with Terry. We talked about life on the road, Ben, Dr.Pepper, Switching from Cold to Evanescence, Dating Amy while on tour, the list goes on. It was so amazing and stimulating!
I talked to amy about art, why she took out her eye brow ring, ect.

I ended up going(yay!) and we bought row O tickets(we were on the far right but they were pretty good tickets concidering we bought them the day of) but it was so cool to have Evanescence for my first concert. I ended up really liking BB and TDG but I didn't like Seether as much(not saying they are bad or anything but they just aren't my style) but when Evanescence came on I was so excited. I loved it all (I think Breathe no more the best) but when Amy was saying Imaginary was the last song I was a little shocked since they didn't play whisper, but we were leaving during Imaginary(we were there for the whole song at least) hoping to get out the parking lot(that didn't really help since we were stuck in there for an hour, I hate those parking attendents!) so I was a little sad that I missed whisper. Anyways I loved it.
p.s.
did anyone get any pictures and are they willing to share them on the internet?
and thesadpenguin I'm so jealous that you got to meet everyone(but I'm also glad you did:)

Every time I see Ev in concert they just get better and better. This concert was OUTSTANDING! My daughter (her first concert) was in awe. When I asked her how she liked it she said "I want to go again". My friends, who hadn't seen them yet, had a blast. They didn't believe me when I said Amy sounds better live. They do now! I was soooo happy that they did Farther Away! It's one of my favs. I was agreeing with Amy on the Harpo's thing. It WAS dangerously hot in there.
I did NOT, however, agree with Shaun on the "only song anyone remembers" statement. NOT SO! I love Gasoline and it was the first song they did. I DO own the cd and have had it since it came out. I think Seether is great.
Unicorn2b was sitting 2 rows in front of me, but other than her I didn't see anyone with red bandanas
And what exactly happened to all of you and the bandanas anyway? I gotta give Moonlight credit. She spotted me before I spotted her. I was looking everywhere for bandanas and didn't see any. Shame on you people!
I have to say that DTE isn't Pine Knob anymore. They've got the Seat Police who refuse to let you down front. (I paid the same money the people in the front paid. Why can't I go up there?), the Cigarette Police "You can't smoke in the Pavillion" "You gotta smoke behind the yellow line" (We're outside for God sake!) and to top it all off, the Potty Police! "You can't go out that way, go out this way". WTF?! Do I need permission to breathe too?

I wasn't at this show, but I know Zero and Whisper are played as an encore. They don't usually turn the lights on in between, but maybe they do this time around...Idk. The break in between is maybe 5-10 minutes give or take.
When the show's over, the lights come on and the stage crew almost immediately comes out to start taking everything down... If in doubt, observe if everyone else is leaving too. If not many people are, then the show isn't over.

I use to hate going to shows with my parents when I was younger cuz they would make me leave after the first fake goodbye and I always missed encores it drove me crazy! I remember a few years ago I took my mom to see Prince and I said WERE NOT LEAVING UNTIL ITS DONE!! She was like ok lol. I'm glad we didnt cuz he did a killer encore at that show :) This was jones beach also :)

LOL!! I missed Prince's tour this time because I was dead broke and I picked my 3rd EV show over Prince! I've seen Prince before and have a few live shows so its ok..but I'm still kinda bitter! I like alot of his older racy stuff that he doesn't sing anymore soh well. I still would've liked to have seen this tour though but I'm sure theyll most likely be a dvd somewhere down the line.

Nope, I don't think they played Zero. I saw them tossing out picks and drumsticks, and the house lights went up. That's usually a good clue that the show's over.

Ok, color me stupid, but Farther Away is a cover? Of whos song? I thought it was a pre-Fallen Ev song. I'm confoozled! :(
I heard them do a cover song, but since I never heard it before, I assumed it was the one being discussed. It was played during the concert, not as an encore.

I went too! I know this is a little late but... ehh... I had so much fun and I was at the top of the hill. I stood the whole time and got bumped into by a lot of drunk people, but it so rocked. It was my first concert without my mom, but my mom is cool, she likes all the music I do and she's not creepy old. Although creepy old is cool.. I mean, Amy's voice sounded way better live and I didn't think that was possible. I got a shirt, and I fell down the other side of the hill. Owies.. :D
