I am interested in the band members’ opinions on the many current political issues such as the operations in Iraq, homeland security, education, gay rights, abortion issues and stem cell research and anything else you wish to comment on.

i think those kinds of questions were avoided in interviews too, so congrats, you could very well be the first person to ask.
i dont think its been asked because its kind of a dicey topic to bring up. besides, making great music doesnt somehow give them some devine wisdome in the world of politics, so their opinion is as good as youre or mine and it could just be that no one bothered to ask.

i really dont mean to stand in your way Destiny, because id be kind of curious what theyd have to say myself but.. to the band, i probably dont have to tell you how dangerous it is to answer something like that. it wouldnt be hard to lose fans because you have contradicting views on issues to which theres no clear answer. wouldnt really bother me, but i dont represent everyone else. my mom, for example, probably wouldnt have married my dad if he didnt agree with her stance on abortion, and thats a much higher stake than loyalty to a band.
diehard fans will hang on your every word, suggestion, or example, but when it comes to preconcieved political views, thats a whole new can of worms.
