We were discussing AFL in the "SA" thread...might as well make it a bit more national.

I'm a Power Fan, but I don't hate the Crows...it's a love/hate relationship with them. If they play Port they are going to die...but if they play a VIC team I'll support the Crows. If the Crows are playing Brisbane, forget it, Brisbane rawk.

Like, 'wtf? i didn't do anything wrong!' *with arm still around other player's neck* and so on.

it was only a small victory for Collingwood, but rest assured that the crows will be ready for next week against Hawthorn.

Hey, so what did you think of Ayers getting the boot? Poor Crows...and what about poor Nigel Smart? Though, I think in the weeks leading up to him leaving the game it was fairly obvious. He is/was a great player though, ahahah I love how young he looks when the Crows first started out.

I was kinda glad that Ayers got the boot to be perfectly honest - it seemed that the team was happier playing under a different coach...and well it was time for a change, the season has had some shocking moments as much as I hate admitting it. Though unfortunately I don't know whether it was his fault in particular that he was given the boot or what. All I know is some games weren't reflecting well on him -or atleast that's how i saw it.
He could have stayed for the rest of the season (i think, i may have heard this wrong), but chose to leave right away?
Ah well, my only concern is that the team finds a suitable replacement - I mean Neil Craig seems to be doing well, so it'll be interesting to see what happens for next season. Either way I'm looking forward to tomorrow night (against the swans).

As for Smart, he'd been with the team since the beginning, and is a brilliant player. Of course, in saying that it wasn't a shock to hear that he was retiring from the game. Ah well, we'll miss him on our side - he's played some good games.

Yeah, from what I've heard the club gave him the choice of staying on and seeing out the rest of the season or leaving straight away.

A lot of my mum's friends are Crows Members and the majority of them don't like Neil Craig, so it will be interesting to see how their minds might change come the end of the season...if the crows can pick up the pace from here on in.

I haven't been paying attention to the ladder lately...is it possible for the crows to make the final eight?

I have no idea how Port beat St Kilda, or how Brisbane beat Geelong. On the day, the two Victorian teams played much better football. Geelong, yeah I think they let their chance slip in the last quarter, but damn, a week off for both Port and Brisbane really showed.
