Hi everyone. :) It's been quite some time since I posted, since I've been busy focusing on my senior year at the School of Visual Arts and trying to do this Illustration thing.
If you might remember from a while back, I also posted this piece called "Forsake of Winter" (http://www.alicemeichi.com/portfolio/003-forsake-big.jpg) that was inspired by "My Last Breath" and appeared on the Anywhere But Home DVD.
Well a little more recently I did portraits of Amy and Ben.. (I know, I know, but I've got to show the Ben-Love!)

Amy Lee
Air. "I lie inside myself for hours and watch my purple sky fly over me."

Ben Moody
Fire. "All of this hate and all of this pain. I'll burn it all down as my anger reigns."
If you're interested, more of my art is featured on my domain...

Oh, wow. They're both so visually appealing, but I especially love the colors in the Ben one. They colors just...jump out, and are of a perfect contrast. And the details in the Amy one are so intricately portrayed, it takes my breath away.
Good work!

Thank you, Ashlee.. :) Colors are my favorite part of doing art, so I'm really glad that it comes across in my art. I can only hope to do justice to the passion in Ben's work.

I'm glad you like it so much.. :) I always try my best to put some extra effort into putting something interesting in every piece of my art, even a simple portrait. Thank you!
Those are so beautiful. I love the My Last Breath one. It's so sad.
Amazing. Absolutely beautiful.
Thanks, Apryl! "Forsake of Winter" was done during a dark time in my life, so I was able to draw inspiration from both the song and my experiences.
Beautiful work!

Thank you, Orgo. :) Out of curiosity, what school did you attend instead?.. It is pretty expensive here, but I've found a relatively cheap place to live (meals included with rent, even!) and it's great for a starving-artist like me. ;)
Awesome.. Does your friend have any of their work online?
I'm such a lurker around here, but I tend to keep my livejournal and site pretty regularly updated with news and artwork.. If you're interested and have a livejournal, I'd love to be LJ-friends with you! I'm over at http://himemiya.livejournal.com

If I do have Ev fanart in the future, I'll definitely post it here. ;) (I also have posted music videos and such in the past and I'll hopefully most my more recent video to "Missing" that I finished in the near-future..) Otherwise, I regularly update my site and my livejournal (http://himemiya.livejournal.com) with new artwork and other creative things and news as soon as I finish them. :) I'm glad you like my art, Brittany!
Um...DAMN! I loved the colors you used in both of them. Very fantasy like.
Thanks a lot! Working in doing fantasy art in things like book covers or comic books is my dream. <3

Your lovely comments really touch me.. Thank you so much, Nagini. :)
Ahh, I'm always so shy about posting anything at message forums that are off-topic.. ^^; I usually log in here to post Ev-related fanart or fan music videos. (I did videos called "Roseate Nocturne" with "Bring Me to Life" and "Deluge" with "Going Under" to an anime called Utena.)
If you're interested in keeping up with my work, I usually keep my domain and my livejournal (http://himemiya.livejournal.com/) updated fairly regularly.. :)

Thanks, Oayis! Well of course you can.. I only started being really serious in art when I was your age.. (God, that makes me feel old.. lol) Around Sophomore/Junior year of high school was when I decided "Screw computer engineering.. I want to paint!"

That's one of my personal favorite pieces, thank you.. :) Inspired by a breakup of a former relationship..
I was having problems the other night with DeviantArt and trying to watch someone's gallery too.. :( But if you try refreshing and doing it again and again, it will eventually get through..

I certainly hope not.. :) Art is my childhood dream! I hope to pursue it with every fiber of my being.

That's pretty cool.. :) Some people suggested medical illustration to me when I was in high school since I loved science as well.. How did that work out for you?
Ahh.. I see he's going to MoCCA later today.. I'll be sure to look out for his work!
That means quite a bit from an amazing artist like yourself. :) I'm sure a lot of my work will be influenced by their music, if not outright fanarts of them!
Lol, that's really cool.
I've always wanted to see it in more detail!
Yeah, more stuff please!!!
