Ambeon, to me... is very deep, dark, and gothic. They do remind me much of Evanscence. If you ever get the chance... google them... download a song... give them a chance. The singer is young Astrid, who was 14 at the time she was singing most of the songs. Her voice sounds nothing like a young girls though. It is beautiful and powerful. One of their best singles is Cold Metal and their albu is called Fate of a Dreamer. Please check them out.

I really like this band or.. project as I think it's better to call it!! Actually I love everything I've heard by Arjen Lucassen.

Fate Of A Dreamer is a great album, and I think the title is perfect, it really makes me dream. :D I was veeery surprised when I knew Astris was 14, it's incredible how she sings.
My fave songs may be Estranged, A Lost Message and Sweet Little Brother. Another thing I love from the disc are the moving lyrics.
All in all.. yeah, I think you should check them out. :D

I might give them another chance though. There's no doubt that Astrid has some real talent! I mean, didn't she even write all the lyrics for these songs? At 14? I think that's a pretty big feat.

Yes... she did right them!!! She is absolutely talented for a 14 year old artist.

Astrid van der Veen is a very talented young woman, she's currently part of a band called theEndorphins who are working on their debut album.

I love the Ambeon project, the music is well put together, and Astrid's voice matches is perfectly.

On a side note, she also played with After Forever in some of their earlier tours, filling in for Sharon den Adel's vocals on the song "Beyond Me".

I'm with you. I like the lyrics and I love Cold Metal, but other then that I don't care for the band much.
