Plans for the 2004 Wing Ding Festival are coming together. The Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce is looking to recruit new “chefs” for the Chicken Wing Cook-Off.

“We’ll have all the people who have been doing it forever,” said Amy Reichenbach, events director for the Chamber. “But we’d like to get some new blood in there, too.”

Festival organizers are working hard on their respective committees to nail down final details that will make the festival even more successful than in past years. Some of the entertainment for the festival’s main stage is still being confirmed, but most of it has been booked.

Among the talent that will perform will be John Lee, who will serve as the festival’s emcee, and one of his daughters. It has not been determined which of his daughters will perform with him, but Amy Lee, lead singer of the internationally-successful band Evanescence, has not officially been ruled out.

Bonita Rownd, executive director of the Chamber, said that this year’s cook-off will feature 500 pounds of chicken wings, 100 pounds more than in previous years.

Other new attractions will include an antique car show featuring about 100 antique cars, as well as a hovercraft static display with possible demonstrations.

Richard Dworshak, who is coordinating the cook-off, has been in discussions with various radio and television stations about going on local shows to promote the festival. Dworshak said he is trying to go on the popular Corey and Jay show on Magic 105 to talk about the cook-off. He also hopes to be a guest on at least one local television show and give a demonstration of how to cook chicken wings.

This really sounds cool, you know what I'd like to see? Amy and one of her sisters doing a song together, maybe a song like "My immortal" so see if their voices are simlar, but that's just a thought.. ;) Thanks though Depplover! :D

I'd love to hear how the other Lee girls sound, too. As was mentioned before, apparently Carrie (I think?) has the best voice of the three.

I've heard Lori sing/play piano. She is incredibly talented, and when she sings "My Immortal," she does sound a lot like Amy.

I think it would be cool if Amy's look-alike little sis Carrie would perform. It would be like seeing Amy at 14-15 perform they look so much alike. I wish I had a little sister.:( I got two little brothers instead.

The only thing i get to watch here is "Who can catch and cook the dog(i mean yackatori) the fastest. Its a meat on a stick, that despite the fact you dont REALLY want to know what its made of, is actually quite good. Especially when your Drunk! God i want some Chicken wings right now!!!

Seether have a show in Alabama tonight so maybe amy will decide to go along and sing Broken instead of going to the Wing Ding Festival with her dad. :-/
