Some of you may notice that the moderating team has begun to "unstick" some threads. This is because some of these threads are either no longer really needed as a sticky or should not have ever been a sticky in the first place.

This is a housecleaning measure because stickies are taking over the forums.

Finally, instead of wasting your points on a sticky that we turn around and undo, PM a mod if you have a thread that you think should be a sticky and let us make a desicison.

And today is the day Lowercountry becomes my hero! <3!

Don't forget we normally only leave them up for a week if a normal user buys a sticky for their thread.

Yeah, good idea. There's definitely some forums where you have to pretty much go to the 2nd page because the first is full of stickies.

Actually, don't stickies appear on every page of the forum? Like, if there are 5 stickies, wouldn't those five stickies appear on every page? So this could wind up being really bad, to the point where there AREN'T any non-sticky threads. Good thinkin you guys.

Good plan... some of them have been up forever!

I've noticed a few new stickies around town today... were these ok'd by the mods? (I tried looking at the sticky thread history, but it said "no history found").

If I see a thread that someone has obviously bought the sticky for I let it say for a tiny bit so they didn't COMPLETELY waste their points.

Ben, why don't you just take it out of the shop?

Yeah... I see sticky threads and force myself to wait a day or two...

I stickied it for these reasons:

1/ So I'd get the widest input on the tunage selections.
2/ Because lots of threads get lost in the wash of new ones.
3/ Because I think music and love go together like peanutbutter and jam.
4/ So it doesn't get confused with those 2 other fave song threads that are the same as each other basically.
5/ We might enjoy seeing into the hearts of our other brother and sister members.
6/ To enable LC's love of Stevie Wonder (especially the songs he sang in se7en) to come shining through.
7/ So Ames has something besides bootsecks threads to gaze upon.
8/ Because they were on sale at the Store, and I love a good bargain.
9/ So we can spread the love all around us, like bubbles at a nightclub (not however, like Bubbles from TrailerPark Boys, his dancing scares the girls)

Please let it be sticky for a month (or 2) at least, I will give away ICE CREAM CONES!!! (virtually speaking of course)

i assume only a mod or admin could do this, but could one of you at least add a minimum time limit and recomendation that we run it by one of you first, in the to the description of stickies in the store? at least that way people wont get all pissed off when one is undone.
something like, "your post will remain at the top for two weeks, or whenever a mod feels its worn out its welcome- whichever comes last. ask one of them first to make sure its not something theyd go out of their way to shut down asap"

But could someone please explain what exactly stickies are? Or tell me where to find out? Also, how do the points work?
