Little is known about this unreleased song except that it is the fastest Evanescence song in terms of tempo. Recorded during 2001-2002 demo sessions.

Anything for You

I'd give anything to give me to you
Can you forget the world that you thought you knew

If you want me
Come and find me
Nothing's stopping you
So please release me

I'll believe all your lies
Just pretend you love me
Make believe, close your eyes
I'll be anything for you

Nothing left to make me feel anymore
There's only you and everyday I need more

If you want me
Come and find me
I'll do anything you say
Just tell me

I'll believe all your lies
Just pretend you love me
Make believe, close your eyes
I'll be anything for you
I'll believe all your lies
Just pretend you love me
Make believe, close your eyes
I'll be anything for you

Anything for you

I'll become your earth and sky
Forever never die
I'll be
Everything you need

I'll believe all your lies
Just pretend you love me
Make believe, close your eyes
I'll be anything for you
I'll believe all your lies
Just pretend you love me
Make believe, close your eyes
I'll be anything for you

Through the lines 'If you want me/Come and find me' we can hear Amy say 'I'm here for you' on the background.

Wow, y'know all this time and I never picked up on that but when I trained my ears for it I couldn't believe how clear it actually is. Is it me or does it only sound through the Left and not the Right as well?

Anyone know what the choir is saying during the "If you want me, come and find me" part? I thought it might be a synthesized choir but the vowels are different so I assume it's real. It actually sounds like, "Oh, if you want me" repeated.

Anyone know what the choir is saying during the "If you want me, come and find me" part? Are you sure it's a choir? I've always thought it's Amy.

I always thought it was some classical piece sampled in. Possibly something from Romeo and Juliet's Score...

Dark Artist, what exactly do you mean? The choir or the whispers on the background?

No I mean the choir that you can hear very clearly. It's as obvious as the lead vocals. Any idea?

I did a search of the net and come across a post saying that the choir is singing 'Lacrimosa' from a Motzart piece, don't know if that's trube but I'm just going to check it out and see if I can hear a similarity.

Lacrimosa dies illa
Qua resurget ex favilla
Judicandus homo reus.
Huic ergo parce, Deus,
Pie Jesu Domine,
Dona eis requiem.

Translation:

Mournful that day
When from the dust shall rise
Guilty man to be judged.
Therefore spare him, O God.
Merciful Jesus, Lord
Grant them rest.

S'okay, all I did was type in 'Anything for you, lacrimosa' in google, I think and it brought me to a page where a fan had mentioned it.

i listened to the song with amys vocals removed and it dosent say that at all, the choir parts dont say anything its just harmonised choir stuff with what amy sings (which is repeated through out the songs)

No, of course they don't sing the whole thing, just one line, but it's hard for me to make out which one.

Since it samples Lacrimosa, do you think this song was redone for the new song on The Open Door? Since I think it's kinda weird Evanescence would cover a classical song and all...

I don't think that they redone the song, but if the did so I would be very happy :D anything for you its cool and I like it very much, luckily I could download the song and I hear it everyday at anyhour :p

The whispers in the one verse says:

"If you want me
Come and find me
Anything you want me to be
Anything for you"

It's in this verse around 1:05:

"Nothing left to make me feel anymore
There's only you and everyday I need more (ahh)
(If you want me)
If you want me
(Come and find me)
Come and find me
(Anything you want me to be)
I'll do anything you say, just tell me.
(Anything for you)"

" if you want me....come and find me"

similar to:

"you want me, come find me.." ? (from CMWYS)

i just noticed that.

I've heard someone call this Amy's 'Britney Spears' song. Probably because of the panting she does somewhere during the middle of the song. Either way, this song is never given the praise it deserves. It's so fun and powerful.. it makes me wanna dance. :)

Yeah I noticed that recently as well....
Although, both songs seem to have opposite meanings.
Haha.

I also have recently fell completely in love with this song. It's now on the top of my favorites. For some reason, not so many people have really heard of this one (like obsessed fans, because obviously the public hasnt).

Weird. It's a really good one and I would LOVE for it to be re-done and them sing it in concert.

Oh I know! haha. It makes me want to do that thing where you like bend your knee with your body and go with the flow of the song. Best way to see it is to watch the Disney show "Hannah Montana" and see what she does on stage on that one song... lol. Yes I watch some of the shows... lol.

I love how they use Mozart in this song...and now..Lacrymosa! And this time they can have a choir sing it the way they want to and don't have to cater to the timing of the recording. This song must've been a preview to the open door...hah.

I really do love this song...it's fun and just awesome.

I really don't hear any of the Lacrimosa line posted before... I may be freak, but I've listen to the song thousands of times and I'm unable to hear it... (specially knowing the real Mozart's Lacrimosa)

I just wanna say that I finally got to hear this song recently and I'm totally hooked on this song: I LOVE it. It's so damn catchy and would have been an awesome radio song. It's pop-py without the cheesiness or corniness. I can't get it out of my mind. Definitely one of Evanescence's best.

I've had this song for ages, but just recently really got into it. I liked it from the first time I heard it, but lately I've had it playing non-stop. I agree, it would've been a good radio song. I'd love to see a video for it.

I have just got this song and I love it. When I heard it the first time, I thought it was one of the songs from TOD, I was very excited, but it's not, anyway it's excellent.

It sounds a lot to me like the song in the TOD preview video

That's because they used the original Lacrimosa sample in this song. But I have a question. How did they manage to blend in a song in 3/4 time into this song which is in 4/4 time (or cut time if you count slower)?
I find it weird that even in the early stages they were able to accomplish some cool effects.

Yeah, I knew about that, of course they're not the same song, but both use Lacrymosa from Mozart ;)

I find it weird that even in the early stages they were able to accomplish some cool effects. To me it sounds like they just used the last beat of measure one, and then the whole measure thereafter to create one 4/4 line. I think they just sample that one small part from it, so voila, you have 3/4 blended with 4/4.

EDIT: That and the fact that the sample is half the tempo of the rest of the song. Makes for a very interesting effect.

Whereas the new song 'Lacrymosa' from ToD is in 3/4 time, so they most likely did not just re-make the song. Not only that, but the article tht described the song best says that it features nearly the entire movement from Mozart's 'Requiem in D,' and not just a sample.

Glad to see them experimenting with non 4/4 songs!!

great great song...and the Lacrymosa parts sound really cool. THye make a nice effect with the fast beat and the guitars. However, it sounds kind of almost pop at times. Mostly because of the techno-ish intro, though...

I always thought the choir said "If you want me" before I read that it was from Lacrimosa. Now I hear it. This is their most The-Open-Door-ish song before TOD. This is one of my favorites and I love the "I'll become your earth and sky..." part.

Does anyone else really dislike this song? I liked it at first because it was fast and fun-sounding but now it just awakens the raging feminist in me and she starts screaming about how stupid it is to want to change yourself for someone else and don't you know that there's more to life than being in a relationship? Ugh, yeah this song bugs me more than any other Evanescence-love-me-please song.

This is one of my fave "unreleases" songs. It's different from almost anything else they've done & I think it's the fastest song. I like the whole opear/choir thing goin' on, it totally rocks!

well you're right, there's more than a relationship but when you're a little desperate to get the attention of someone you really care about, you'll do "anything" for his/her love.
