i found out on another ev forum that the proper version of ascension of the spirit goes for about 11mins and has some hidden track thing at the end of it some funny thing

I have the 11 minute version. I think it's on the mp3 format. But it's nothing great. Theres just mostly blank space.

Around 2:55 there's like this "Phantom Of The Opera" sounding thing. Then you hear a sound as if someone were putting a coat on the microphone, or a door opening or closing.

Then a man says "Goodbye son. Be nice to god." Then there's a woman, who is crying, and says "I made you bologna and mustard, with the edges cut off, just the way you like it." And then like a da da da da sound like you hear in sitcoms or something. Then you hear what sounds like a door closing.

Then there's blank space.

Then around 8:19 starts the 3 minute Ascension Of The Spirit.

The actual time of this version is 11:50.

Which two? I have the 3:16 one and the 11 minute one but not the other one.. Is there a place to get it?

*thud* I love this song. When I'm listening to it, I'm feeling like I'm flying... Like after long, long darkness I see the light, beautiful, soft light. It's like a sound of your soul. But I always thought that the 3 minuts long song is the right song but now I see that there's another version. I have to search this, because I'm very curious.

Yeah that so-called '11 minute version' is just mostly blank space and then the song. I didn't realise there were some clips in the middle, but still.... it's very strange to make a song that way.

This is probably my least favorite Ev song. It's still good, though, but it's not "them". It's un-Evanescence-ish IMO. I love this song, though. If I lay back and listen I can picture the pyreflies (from Final Fantasy X) rising. It's good to hear on a bad day.

Yeah, I want to find a legit 11 minute version too.

I've never heard of an 11 minute version of this song. but that's not to say that there isn't one out there. I absolutly love this song. it's so soothing. I listen to it when I want to relax.

I have heard this song maybe a few times, and its just beautiful.
Very peacefull, calming, soothing, and relaxing, as well eases ones mind.
I think Im going to have to find it somewhere, and download it onto

^ It's on Ev Reference. Just out of curiousity it there wasn't a cover for Sound Asleep, then there must not have been a tracklist right? Besides Whisper and Understanding, how do we know what the song titles are?

I have a "short version" and an "original version" of this song. The original version is for 11 minutes. But the music starts at 8:20. :rolleyes:
