View Full Version : ATTN: Book Collectors (Help my dad have a good Christmas)

So, my dad has been interviewing authors for about 20 years now I'd say, and over the years he's interviewed some pretty awesome people. Michael Crichton, Bob Denver, Billy Corgan, George Bush Senior, William Shatner, Chuck Norris, just to name a few.

Well, unfortunately my dad has fallen on some hard times, and things just don't seem to be looking up anytime soon. So despite him not wanting to let go of them, he's decided the only thing he can do right now is sell some of his very rare and very sought after signed first editions.

So, this is where I come to you guys and see if anyone here is interested in helping out by buying a book or two, or hell, even donating a few dollars. Without going into too much detail, all I can really say he was let go from his job (along with about 75% of the staff) and still hasn't been able to make December rent, and just had his phone cut off. He's worked in radio all of his life, and really doesn't know anything else. That's what he does, and what he's always done. But finding a job in his field is incredibly hard right now, especially with the holidays and everything.

So, here is a list of some of the books he's letting go of, and if anyone is interested, just e-mail him at eyeonbooks@gmail.com and be sure to put "RE: [insert book name here]" in the subject line. Donations are also very helpful and appreciated. The PayPal address is the same as above.

Without further ado, here's the list:

*All books are signed First Editions and in fine condition unless specified otherwise.*

Kathy Reichs - "Deja Dead"
Very first book by this author. You guys will probably know of her from the show 'Bones', which is based on her books.
---Asking $300, will accept no lower than $150

James Elroy - "L.A. Confidential"
The book that inspired the movie
---Asking $1,000, will accept no lower than $500

Patricia Cornwell - "Postmortum"
FIRST EVER BOOK BY HER. The cover actually says "Patricia Daniels Cornwell" because she was still using her middle name then. VERY sought after and rare. Dated by Cornwell March 9, 1990.
---Asking $3,000, will accept no lower than $1500

Tom Clancy - "The Bear & The Dragon"
Not one of his bigger ones, but still a great sought after book.
---Asking $300, will accept no lower than $150

Orson Scott Card - "Ender's Game"
Rare and very sought after!
---Asking $900, will accept no lower than $500

Clive Barker - "Everville"
This one is actually a Limited Edition Slipcased autographed copy, and is #3 of 526.
---Asking $500, will accept no lower than $250

James Bradley - "Flags of our Fathers"
Book that inspired the movie
---Asking $700, will accept no lower than $450

Anne Rice - Queen of the Damned
ANY Anne Rice fan should own this.
---Asking $800, will accept no lower than $400

He also has a signed first edition of Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton, but he's not willing to part with it for any less than $2,000.

Pictures available to anyone interested, all you have to do is e-mail my dad and ask. All books are in fine condition and all are signed first editions. Great Christmas presents for collectors, and any purchase will help my dad immensly.

Thanks for reading, and happy holidays. :)
