I called Smirnoff today and the chick there said that the show was not confirmed so to call in a few weeks. So whether its canned or not I don't know, but I really hope its still going on because I'm dying to see them here in Dallas!

I don't think they're coming. They will be in Houston on the 6th, then Corpus Christi on the 8th. I just don't think it would make very much sense to play Houston, drive up to Dallas and then all the way back down to Corpus, all within 3 days. I live in Dallas but am going to buy tickets to Houston. It is kind of weird though that they would play Lubbock and Corpus Christi and not Dallas though. ??? ~lis

YAY I'm excited for Evanescence being confirmed to play Dallas again! I'm definetly going to hit up EdgeFest now! I'm really looking forward to The Vanished (my friend Braidy Bingham who is an AMAZING singer/songwriter [www.braidybingham.com] opens for The Vanished), Evanescence (of course!) and Lit! Not a fan of Blue October like everyone else in DFW, but I know that they will make EdgeFest a good show to be at!

i was just thinking the same thing brian, but i haven't been able to see them in concert yet so theres no way i would miss it, last time when they came here i wasn't able to go because i had no one to go with. :(

I called the Edge after veiwing this thread, and they said that Evanescence hasn't called to cancel, nor Seether, which, now that Shaun and Amy are pratically joined at the hip, if one cancels, probably so will the other. Im happy they are coming. I saw them at last years EdgeFest, and they rocked.

So I'm not really from around here...but I'm staying in Plano, TX for the summer. I'm planning on making this show...if it's still on, which it looks like it is. If anyone wants to meet up at this show, I'm up for that too...this will be my 4th Ev concert! can't wait...1st time seeing Seether though. They're playing at summerfest up where I live in milwaukee, but this will definately make up for missing that. :D

I just got my tix in the mail the other day....i have kinda crappy seats, but i could care less...4th time seeing ev, i don't care where i sit, as long as i'm there :p . I have 2 tickets, but i'm lacking a 2nd person...hopefully i can find someone to go with (i'm here for the summer from wisconsin, so i don't really have friends down here) :(

got my tix, I'm in section 202 lol I dunno if that good or not never been in smirnoff music center. Be kewl we all can meet up sumwhere. I might be there late, I'm driving 4hrs go up there lol. I wanna get a pit tix but by the time I get there, there be no way 4 me get close to the stage when Ev trun to play. Sum reason can't get the lower tix in 100's, lady on the phone was very rude lol. Yeah, on Pepsi Smash when Amy sang Broken with Seether she said that they met at a kareoke (<-- I can't spell, lol) bar in Texas. They sang some song together, i can't remember which one, but they didn't have the song that amy really wanted to sing...that's pretty much how she hooked up with Shaun.
But anyways i have 2 tix in section 201...kinda crappy seats, but i'm going to the smirnoff center tonight to check it out...i'll decide how bad the seats really are. hehe.

I can't believe that Edgefest is tomorrow! Although, I am having a bit of traumatic experience (it wouldn't be my life if there was no drama). Well my best friend is supposed to go with me, but her mom is being an asshole and is just TRYING to find a reason to not let her go. She claims that my friend never told her that she would have to spend the night at my house after the concert, and I guess she expects my mom to driveher home at 2:00 AM...I cried my eyes out last night...we've been planning this for 7 WEEKS!!! Her mom knew everything! I cannnot even begin to explain how PISSED I will be at her mom if she doesn't let her go. My friend is supposed to call me today with the final news...I'm so nervous I'm sick! I should NOT have to deal with this. I'm trying ot think of an alternative plan...I was thinking about calling Jessie @ the Edge and telling her my reverse-sob story...you never know...something could come of it. Or if it turns out that my friend can't go, then maybe one of my fellow EvBoarders would like to come sit with me...I have pretty good seats )Sec 101 Row N...I thinkit's either 4th or 7 th row depending on the pit). Let me just say that I had the NIGHT OF MY LIFE tonight! Evanescence was the hottest thing I've seen in my life. It was the BEST SHOW and they did not upset me ONCE at all! They were the best live that they could've been (could have been better by playing either of my 2 favorite songs: "Hello" or "October", haha, j/k) but they were AMAZING!!! I'm so amazed I didn't start bawling during any of the songs but I did get very emotional during My Immortal. It was the best thing that has ever happened to me ever!!!

here is a short review:

Evanescence, if you've never heard them -- which is hardly likely since the band's debut CD Fallen has sold millions -- sounds like Enya fronting Metallica.

Singer Amy Lee, wearing a black and pink cheerleader's skirt and black tank top, never had to out-sing the blast of guitars coming from her four-man band, and that's a credit to her voice as much as the song arrangements and sound guy.

It's easy to see why so many young females (not to mention the guys) are drawn to her. Lee's stage presence is strong and confident, while remaining feminine and sexy. She sings her soul-baring lyrics about God (Tourniquet) and love and loss (Whisper) with the conviction of someone who knows no other way.

Bring Me to Life with Seether's Shaun Morgan, had the crowd of 16,745 juiced, just as a huge hit should.

Seether, which preceded Evanescence, owes a lot to Staind.

When Morgan lets his voice come off naturally, on songs such as his acoustic version of Take Me Away, the band shines. Fine Again, dedicated to Dave Williams, former singer of Drowning Pool, showed off the band's appeal. A little bit Nirvana, a little bit Pearl Jam, but not just a parody.

Seether has all the earmarks of a band that could blossom into something huge -- if Morgan would just tone down the between-song screaming and histrionics. Morgan requested "a brotherhood and a sisterhood" of flickering lighters for Broken, the band's hit with Lee. Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton doing Islands In the Stream this ain't.

But Lee's voice coupled with Morgan's manly-man, gruffer-than-thou voice, not only provides the song with a great contrast of sounds but also lends credence to the lyrics.

Edgefest was AMAZING!!! I met Amy, John, Will, and Rock for the first time! I am still SOOOOO happy. I actually went out there expecting ot meet Seether, but instead I met Ev!!!!!! They signed my CD insert and my Edgefest shirt! Like Axlino said, I was the only one in my section singing Breathe No More (my FAVORITE song --which I was actually screaming at the top of my lungs!), Farther Away, and Zero...(PS..I looked for ya, Axlino, but I didn't see you) I went SOOOOO crazy! These guys next to me were laughing, but i didn't care. I'd have to say the highlight of my day was meeting Amy! I still remember the exact conversation I had with Amy (She was SOOOOO nice!!!):
me: *big huge smile* I read in an article how you felt when you met Bjork--
Amy:I jujst bought that skirt the other day (points to the one I'M wearing)
me: did you really?
Amy: yeah....what were saying about Bjork?
me: just that how you said you felt when you met her, well that's how I feel right now
Amy: *smiles* well, I was not nearly as well composed as you were.
me: well, trust me, I'll cry right after this.
(it was a pretty long conversation considering the fact that they were pushing everyone through really fast. Amy looked me in the eye the whole time we were talking, which I thought was really cool. THANKS, AMY!!!)
Oh yeah, John asked how I was doing, Will didn't really say much, he just sort of smiled, and Rocky looked up and smiled right at me!!!! It was so AWESOME!!!
Seether did a great set...I loved their Nirvana cover. And I was osrt of cracking up because Shaun dropped the f-bomb about every other word...lol. I was expecting that though :) I knew Amy would come out when they sang Broken, but I was exactly sure when, but when I heard her voice I screamed SO FIRCKIN LOUD!! One time during the song she stood over this vent thing and hair blew up like in some sort os Herbal Esscence commercial..it was so cool.
Ev's set....hmmm.what to say about Ev's set? INCREDIBLE!!!! Not dissapointed in any way! I was SOOO glad that they played Breathe No More...I was pretty much the only one who knew the words from where I was at, but I was SO into it! There's really no way to put Ev's performance into words, but if you were there, you know what I'm talking about!

Oh yeah, I think I may have met my soulmate...hehe
There was a guy about my age maybe a taad older than me sitting directly in fornt of me, uh I think he was in Row M seat 17-20? He had a shirt on that said I Love Amy Lee and on the back it said Evanescence Rocks (Amy signed it and wrote "that's me" with an arrow up) We kept smiling at each other, but we didn't talk much..I wish I had now ( i've never seen a guy so into Ev...he even stood up for the slow songs...we were like the only 2 standing up in our section) It was funny to b/c I noticed we would like bang to the beat or start jumping at the same time. If you're here, let me know...I'm the girl that sat behind you...I hit you with a glowstick (sorry about that by the way...it popped off my arm when I was rocking out) If you're on here or if anyone knows who sat in that seat...please tell me.

no, finger eleven were there, along with The Vanished, Saliva, Burning Brides, Lit, Blue October, Seether, Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace and Evanescence :D

I wasn't there the whole day (the only bands I can stand besides Evanescence were Seether, The Vanished and Lit and they were scattered all day long) but I do believe Finger Eleven was there because they were scheduled to.

the concert was so amazing and shaun was great on the vocals in BMTL...i even got to meet John, Terry, shaun and Amy at the busses (i talked to them all abit) and i got a pic with Amy, i saw Rocky walk by three times and i yelled his name, i dont think he heard me :(
but one of the times he was with his family i didnt yell for him because i didnt want to bother him
and i didnt even see Will at all! :( i hope he didnt walk by and i didnt notice...could he have been wearing a beanie?

Wow, the concert was fricken Awesome. Evanescence and Seether are so good live its unreal. Amy Lee's vocals are so beautiful, she really can put on a show. She was dancing around typical Amy style and it totally rocked my face off. The whole show was greatness. I even got to meet them during autograph signings..sucked monkee that they wouldn't let anyone take pictures with them..except for this group of lucky girls that I sorta envy..but I got some good pictures. Brought two camera's and used all the film.

The bonus's for the day was seeing her interview with 102.1 The Edge and hearing her talk about her kitten and about some lady..saying something about the sign on her dressing room door..I honestly don't remember what exactly she said but maybe someone else does..I sorta zoned out..it was hot. Anyways I took some pictures of that, some pictures during autograph signings(they probably suck cause I was so far away), and alot of the actual show. Guess I should mention I got a pit ticket. Man..I can't believe I got such a good ticket. Costed me like 50 bucks tho..but I think it was worth it, at least for me it was.

Back Ev. concert...I was really shocked when she sang 'Breathe No More.' Thats like one of my favorite songs and I'm really glad they sang a cover of Korn's..i think the song is 'thoughtless' cause that totally rocked. The only problem with being in the pit that pissed me off was when some people were being stupid or dropped something and the security people kept standing up over the gate and blocking my view of the stage..its hard to see over people when you only 5'5 and the guys in front of you are 6 foot, but besides that and the frequent..crowd surfers..who always seem to be the big people that shouldn't be allowed to crowd surf, everything rocked... I think there should be a crowd surfing rule tho..cause my head hurts like a mofo..

To sum it all up, that was the best Evanescence show I've been privaleged to go too and I can't wait till they come through Dallas next year..or some year..after that..who knowns know a days. Thanks for reading my rambling.

Its quite possible Will was wearing a beanie - A striped one?? he wore that when I met him ;)

I'll try to see about getting them developed as soon as possible and then comes the scanning issue. My scanners kinda jacked at the moment, but I think I can try to use the fax machine to upload the pictures..if not, I'll have to do something else. yea, i met finger eleven, they even signed my finger eleven booklet. they were leaving and one of the guys saw me and i was like "wait wait wait!" and he ran up and was like "gimme that" and he ran off with it and got the whole band to sign it.

there were 19 bands, finger eleven was one of them :D

so unless i accidentally got breaking benjamin to sign my finger eleven booklet... lol

Was the 'I love Amy Lee' shirt all white and had Evanescence written on the back? Cause if so..I was standing next to that guy to get my autograph, it was kinda funny when he got it signed..think Amy put thats me or something on his shirt, don't remember that well. If its not then I guess 2 guys had that shirt same shirt..

So everyone pretty much said everything already...but this concert seriously rocked. i was also another lucky one who got to meet ev and get autographs and such. I was maybe 10 people or so behind the "I Love Amy Lee" shirt guy. it was such an amazing experience!! Amy is sooo nice and really down to earth. John and Will didn't talk as much but i thanked them and Rocky actually gave me a hug, which i thought was really nice of him since he doesn't look like the hugging type. He kinda looked around seeing if people were watching him and then he hugged me...he's so cute!! hehe. but anyways, i snapped some pics when i was in line, so hopefully i can get some up here...i dunno how well they turned out yet, but i'll be getting them back today. usually i'd put em up on my website but that's down until i go back home to wisconsin and get it running again. I'm not sure if i met any of you on here...but i was wearing a black skirt, and a black and red dickey's tank top, and my hair was in "princess laia" type buns.

As for the show they put on...i wish they would keep to playing in smaller venues...i know this was different cuz it was a festival type thing, but i like it better when they play at places like The Rave in milwaukee. but i still rocked out to every song, and wrote them down....i'll post the setlist if you guys want me to.

Ya that was him... I was like 5-7 people back from him in the autograph line. He showed me his shirt when we saw each other back in our seats. He was so cute and he was really nice too. I wish we talked more...I could tell we both wanted to (I just didn't know what to say.)

Oh, I crack myself up getting all happy and giddy about my little Ev crush...hehe. I really would like to see him again though. :)

but i still rocked out to every song, and wrote them down....i'll post the setlist if you guys want me to.

You could try uploading them to a free picture hosting site. I don't remember the names of any, but if you a search, you'll get lots of hits. Or if you have a scanner, you could just attach them on here. Hope i could be of some help to ya!

I think we should all post our pics here...anyone who was @ Edgefest and took pictures, put them on here. That way we can exchange pics and see if other people took better pics. Mine are being developed. I only took a disposable with me, so I hope they turn out ok. I tried to take some @ the autograph session, but the Edge people were mean and pushed us all back, so we'll see. Once I get them, I'll put them on here. I'd really like to see everyone else's Edgefest pics too...not just Ev, btw.

I had sooooooo much fun. I wish I would have known that you could take cameras in there! I would have brought my digital. I did take a disposable..just in case. I was like soooo far from the front! As you could imagine the pics sucked and I could only salvage a couple.
Obviously the concert ROCKED MY SOCKS OFF!!! Amy melted my face with her powerful vocals and Shaun....OMFG! He is Da Bombdigity! I loooove me some Shaun. I got to hug him twice!!!! I am going to post my review as soon as I get back from work, along with some pics. I got there too late to meet Amy. I think they signed at like 3pm, I got ther at like 6. :(

heheh tha was me :) meeting shaun was soo freaking awesome! and when ev came on i rocked out to the extent i thought id pass out... but hey, nice talkin to you (for that like 10 seconds lol)

yep like every1 else said the concert was awesome even tho i was kinda way in the back LOL! I did met seether, Met Shaun two times he his very kewl going try scane them and put them up. Can't believe i miss the autogragh session with EV :mad: I was still on the road. got to Dallas 4pm LOL. Again concert was awesome. Having Seether and Ev back to back...just awesome :D

i also forgot to mention that after i got johns autograph he drove back around and asked my brother, mom and I where the closest resturant was,
(my mom:"well, dont go that way, theres nothing but alcohol" :p)
me and my mom also talked to Terry alot while the others were getting amy's autograph, we mostly talked about his hair and how it took about 8 years to grow out and my mom asked how it was possible to wash it, lol. terry is really nice, shaun and Terry both said they liked my shirt :D

i also got to take a pic with amy, thanks to terry (he suggested to give my email to her so she could send me the pic through email cuz i didnt have a camera) and another fan of Ev (im so sorry, i forgot her name :( )

No pyro or lasers...but the light were awesome. There were the different colored lights and the occasional strobe light...I kinda got dizzy from the strobes b/c I was rocking out so hard and the strobe light were really really bright and lasted for quite a while.

So this is an extremely random question that I really am asking that doesn't spark up drama or fire up someone's wrath on me. But I missed the Evanescence autograph signing at 3, and my friend who happened to be there said that Amy was being "irritable" during that time. I told her of how I would totally understand Amy at this point, where she has been touring non-stop for how long now? You would be "irritable" too. So my question is, was this "irritability" just signs of exhaustion and fatigue from Amy? And once again, no dramatic replies! lol

Well she didn't seem irratable when I talked with her, but I wouldn't doubt by the end of the autograph session if she was. It was pretty hot outside when she was signing, so it could have been the heat. I know that made me a little irratable ;)...but I guess I'm just not used to it since I'm from Wisconsin. Hehe. She didn't act irritable at all when I talked to her. She was very friendly and she had eye contact with me the whole time we talked. I was on of the first few people though, so it is possible that she could have gotten a little irritable by the end. It was SO hot. Even I was getting pissed after waiting in the heat for 45 minutes to see them. Mostly b/c people were pushing their way to the front of the line.
But like she said during their performance "Man, it's hot in Texas!"

Me.. being the incredible dork I was stayed throughout the whole autograph signings..just for a few pictures..And she wasn't "irritable" in anyway. She was smiling, shaking hands, talking, and drinking one of those...frozen drinks..erm..I forgot what they are called..but it has alcohol in it and is verrry colorful. Some chicks got it for her. They even got pictures with her, unlike a million kazillions other fans out there, they were the only ones. Lucky Lucky..

Anyways, I don't know what your friend was talking about, but maybe I missed something..who knows. I do tend to zone out at times..especially in school..oi school..

Damn right it is HOT in Texas!!!! And humid. I cannot wait to move to Washington State!!!! I did not get to meet Ames, but my best friend did, she gave me copies of her pics and Amy looks pretty happy to me. Especially after Susie (my best friend) bought her a iced swirly drink. As you can see she was very thankful!!! :) Amy was probably worn out...as you can see if you went to the concert, she sings her whole heart and soul out!! Man she can put on a show! They had also played like everynight since they have been in Texas. Poor Ames! I wish I could send her a gift certificate to a wonderful spa for the day! Although, I am sure she will be enjoying her new home she bought in California!

even if you got there in time for the ev autograph session (i was in line at 3) most likely you wouldn't get an autograph. i waited for an hour, only to have them leave and me having wasted time. but, on the up side, this concert was the most amazing one i've ever been to.

Did anyone else hear.. during Ev's autograph signing.. some guy yelled "Put on some make-up!" It was horrible. I wanted to kill him, bring him to life, and then kill him again.

I was in the pit, mainly the left side, (got my tickets even before the edgehead presale :D ), and I was the only one around me singing Breathe No More and Farther Away.

I got to meet Shaun and the rest of Seether.. I'll post pictures of my autographed shoe soon :D
