I really don't turn the TV on often enough at all, but when I do I want to watch some good stuff with my own accent. Last time I watched any Australian TV shows they were pretty average.
Anyone got any good Aussie shows... if ya wanna tell me what they are about..*shrugs*

Rove Live has to be mentioned here. Great guests, live music and typical aussie humour. This show always makes me laugh, especially What The?...

My most memorable cherade moment, Corinne's word was 'brazillian', lmfao. Those people who didn't see it, it wont be too hard to imagine what she acted out. I was crying from laughter.

Secret Life of Us was good, who knows when ch10 is gonna finish playing the rest of the last season though.
There's a new one starting soon called 'Cooks' or something, it looks similar to Secret Life.
If you want aussie accents, it's not a tv show but, Strictley Ballroom, the accents stand out heaps.

Better get used to the American accents because most Aussie shows suck hairy goats balls at the moment.
I used to love Rove and now I want to blow it up. It's so scripted... so blah.
The Glass House isn't too bad, it's on the ABC.

hmm. i've yet to see an aussie show lately that doesn't suck balls, if not initially then eventually. I refuse to say "Hairy Goat Balls", EmmaTehGoat may get a little miffed :)
Only decent ones I remember fondly have been stuff by The Late Show crew (Channel 2's Late Show, 80's-early 90's | Not the Letterman one) Pizza was okay but got tiresome after awhile. And the fishing series on ABC by Rob Sitch & Tom Gleisner (aforementioned Late Show crew).. i don't even like fishing, but they were always going to interesting places and looking at things other than the fishing, cultures of other countries etc.. all teh funny.
Aside from that we're screwed :)

Russell Coight Adventures, is that what it was called?? been awhile since we had one I can't remember.
It was called All Aussie Adventures.
I really like Comedy Inc on 9. Some of their sketches are hilarious! Like the other night there was one where this plumber who was looking at this lady's toilet and she's behind him in the bathroom. And he says to her... I don't quite know how to tell you this *as he's looks at her toilet* it looks like someone has been... sh!!!!ting in your toilet!!! That doesn't seem nearly as funny in text as on the show cuz I was kakking myself really hard for a long while. It was probably the biggest laugh I've had from TV this year. Skithouse is pretty good too for Australian Fastbowler and back on Comedy Inc again Answers Man is a classic too.
Merrick and Russo are plenty funny as well but not they're on for the moment. I think Comedy Inc might have got the axe by now? Dunno... channel 9 isn't good at seeing the potential of really good shows or they just realise they won't be mainstream popular enough. I wonder if they regret letting go of Rove? McCalef was great too but way to quirky for commercial tele.

Did anyone catch "Farscape" when it was on a couple of years back. It had a whole host of incredible guest stars like:
Rebecca Gibney - C'mon I don't have to point this one out
Claudia Karvan - Ditto (whispers "Secret life")
Alex Dimitriades *drools* - The Heartbreak kid, lets get skase
Barry Otto - Strictly Ballroom
Rhys Muldoon - Genie from down under (cacks herself laughing)
Grant Bowler - Host of "The Mole"
Leanna Walsman - "Jessica" and the bitch from "Looking for Alibrandi"
PS: Jessica the miniseries rawked!!!!
Magda Szubanski - OMG, funniest lady ever....."Lets fly Jetstaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar!!!"
And then the cast:
Gigi Edgely - "George" from secret life, the daughter in "Blackjack" and Katherine Marks in "Stingers"
Claudia Black - "A country practice" Shazza in "Pitch Black" and Pandora in "Queen of the Damned".
Virginia Hey - Played the lead baddie in Mad Max 2
Anthony Simcoe - Played the jailed brother in "The castle"
The guys from this show found one of my only weaknesses.... yes, you guessed it......MUPPETS!!! They made them do all sorts of bizarre and disturbing things. Things you should never associate Muppets with!!!! I'm usually not a sci-fi fan at all. Can't stomach most of them.... but this one really hit the spot when there hadn't been much on TV. If you don't know what it is, and have a few hours to spare.... go check it out on DVD.

I loved Farscape, and I hate Channel Nine for stuffing around with it. They had the last season on awhile ago, sometime this year/last year but stopped playing the eps... because they are dumb.

"Man Who Doesn't Understand 'Fight Club' Tries to Start One."
"Study Shows Renovations Finish Men More Frequently Than Men Finish Renovations."
"Crocodile Hunter Really Talks Like That."
"Man Unsure How to Broach Topic of Anal Sex with New Girlfriend."

Some of their references to Australian figures may have gone over your head, but for the most part, their "coverage" of the stories it's pretty self-explanatory ;)
Oh, watch this coverage of our now finished election. The political jokes may need some explaining, so just ask one of us :D
