So tonight (Friday 2nd July .... Rocky Gray's birthday by the way!) I was listening to the radio: B105 FM and they had the section of the Hot 30 called Rate The Music.

The carry over champ was Ashlee Simpson "Pieces of Me" and the new contestant was Seether/Amy Lee "Broken".

Well when they first played a small 20 second clip from the song they then went back to the hosts (Alexis + Labrat) and what do they do .... FULLY DISS EVANESCENCE!

Labrat goes:
Oh every time I hear that girl from Evanescence sing I just think of her singing "Ohhhh I wanna cut my wrists" [bursts out laughing].

Later on they cross to the Phone Monkey (as they call him) and he said:
At this point Seether is winning. And can I just say that song ["Broken"] is shit!

Well I ring up trying to put some votes in for Seether and Amy. I finally got through and the Phone Monkey answers and says:
Hot 30
I answer: I'm voting for Seether
He yells out to his co-workers: Another vote for Seether, and I hear in the background Alexis yell out: What! Seether!! Uhh

In the end .....
Ashlee Simpson won with only 53% of the vote!

However......
This means that Broken has now been added to the Hot 30 where we can vote. So go over to: www.hot30.com and go to the LAST NIGHT/VOTE section and in the scrolly section they should've added Broken. If it's not there yet, keep checking back coz I want Broken to get so many votes it gets #1 and then I wanna hear what they say THEN!

That's totally innopropriate. I'm not being biased, if it were even a song I didn't like I'd still think it was incredibly un-professional. Their job is to entertain, not to put down, or tell the world what they think is bad. These people obviously have no concept of manners. Are they deliberately trying to be hated?

you could do what this chick in newcastle did....the radio hosts dissed her fav band...so she rang up and complained!! she got on air n totally dissed the hell out of those hosts...

Labrat was mentioned in a thread a little while ago. I figure that he does this all the time, not to every artist, but to most artists. I think that he's a shock jock in the vein of Howard Stern (if you don't know who he is, search the web. Amy Lee HATES Howard Stern....with a passion.)

Things like that really are unnecessary. Granted they are by all means allowed to voice their opinions, but not to the extent that they make some sort of negative comment to anyone that rings up voting for a certain song. And also making fun of depression. Good thing I wasn't listening to the radio when they were saying that, although I don't listen to the radio for that reason and that most stations play absolute crap 24/7.

Yeah, there is always going to be people who say stupid shit about artists and bands, always. There's no getting around it, it's just something that we all have to accept. Yeah he was out of line saying those things about Amy but we have to accept that as his (stupid) opinion. ;) Don't worry tho, some people are just ignorant and will say whatever they think even without knowing anything about the thing/person they are judging, and its good in a way because it reminds us that we shouldn’t be like that.

Radio hosts suck. well, cept for Rove and Dancin Lukey (from The Show) both on 92.9 - http://allnew929.com/ - Perth's TripleM affiliate I believe. I think it's fine they have an opinion but plain up saying you think a song sucks should not be allowed. It's your job, just cause you don't like parts of it doesn't mean you have to tell everyone that.
I don't like my job either, I do things I don't want to do cause it's my job.. why can't some radio jocks have the common decency to do the same..

Yeah, and an interesting thing about radio stations and hosts etc, bagging out artists and bands, is that if they are ever in town and on their show, they will jump on the bandwagon and suck up their arses, when previously all they had to say about them was negative. I hate that.

The first time I knew of was Thursday 15th July at #30. Is that right??

After a few weeks of sms'ing 92.9, Perth's Triple M affiliate, they finally played BROKEN during day hours. May have been it's debut as I listen everyday and have'nt heard it yet. So if I helped out, W00t!

Of course I know this thread was about B105, but I posted here for two reasons -

1)your thread was running out of stuff to be said, and
2)the mods don't want pointless threads started out of nowhere, as it's only harder work on their part. If I'd started a thread on 92.9 instead of just adding my post into a general broken/radio thread such as this one, it would be closed in minutes.
