The first of the World Battle of the Bands heats kick off next week in Sydney. Full dates for all Heats and Finals for Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne have been announced...

The World Battle of the Bands have been graced by a host of premium sponsors & supported who have contributed some awesome prizes for the winning bands. The audience even get a chance to win Oh! Yeah Clothing Co gear, and everyone who buys a ticket to attend any of the Heats, SemiFinals, State or National Final will go in the draw to win a pair of Dr Martens (one per state).

For the winning bands:

STATE WINNERS
- a spot at the National Final in Sydney on Friday 12th November (including
transport assistance for interstate bands);
- Dr Martens for each band member;
- $500 equipment voucher from local music retailers; and
- Oh! Yeah Clothing

NATIONAL WINNER
- a trip to New Zealand to compete at the World Final in Auckland on
Saturday 27th November;
- Maton Guitars to the value of $3500;
- a Motorola E398 mobile phone for each band member; and
- a national publicity package from Reservoir Promotions for a CD release
and/or tour to the value of $2000.

The winner of the WORLD FINAL will win
- Recording of a single at Area 51 Studios, Auckland, mastered by Don
Bartley at Studios 301, Sydney;
- A video clip for the single, made in NZ right after the World Final;
- CD's pressed by Software Images;
- The single released through Intergalactic Records;
- Music Gear vouchers from NZ Rockshops, in association with Marshall and
Fender
