Before The Dawn
Meet me after dark again and I'll hold you
I am nothing more than to see you there
And maybe tonight
We'll fly so far away
We'll be lost before the dawn
If only night could hold you and I can see you my love
Then let me never ever wake again
And maybe tonight
We'll fly so far away
We'll be lost before the dawn
Somehow I know that we can't wake again
From this dream it's not real but it's gone
Maybe tonight
We'll fly so far away
We'll be lost before the dawn
Maybe tonight
We'll fly so far away
We'll be lost before the dawn

Does this remind anyone else of Titanic? Everytime I hear, I think of Titanic.
At this line - Somehow I know that we can't wake again
I listened again, it's the whole line. Does anyone else hear it?

I agree. I don't know why, but I really like this song and its definitely one of my favourites. I'm surprised more people haven't posted as its a beautiful song. The song has so much emotion which often if difficult to achieve in a song, and usually just makes a song sound corny! Evanescence got it right with this song though (and most of their other songs):)

This song is one of the most beautiful ballads I've ever heard. When I'm listening BtD I'm thinking about watching sunrise, about spending time with one you loved. That song make me feel a little bit depressed. It's very... strange feeling. But I love this song, it's amazing. :D

This song is one of my favs. Although I'm excited for some new material, I wouldn't mind seeing this song pop up in Evanescence's future again, whether at conerts or cd or something...

I love this song, especially to do harmonies too because there are so many ways, vocally, that you could go with this song. I think it's because of the key change and the leap between the chords. I could listen to this song over and over and never get bored of it.

I do love this song, it's a bit slower than I like, but still a beautiful piece of music.

ok, so I finally just heard this song. I don't know why it took me so long, but I REALLY love it. I saw a video on youtube that had that song to clips from the movie American Beauty and I was just in awe of it.

Why do people think Evanescence is 100% pain and suffering and darkness? This song is the farthest thing from goth. Amy definitely outdid herself with the chanting sounds towards the end of this song.

Nobody said this song was 100% pain and suffering and darkness. Nobody said this song was goth either. So I have no clue where your coming from.

I'm sorry. No, I was talking about the band's reputation from non-ev fans. I never meant anything about this song being dark. People just need to listen to more Ev songs before throwing around reps. :) What instrument is used in the intro?

It is one of the best songs (IMHO). I think it is romantic song. I imagine bank of lost river... Beautiful colours of the dawn... I really want to "fly so far away" :)
In short - IT IS GREAT SONG!

This song definitely gives off some beautiful imagery. I love the softness of the song. Its softness could pierce through skin.
I'm a big fan of this track.

Oh ok I thought you were saying people thought this was a dark song. I was just like ok...... no. I don't know what instrument is used. It's probably just sound fx.

I've had this track in my playlist for a long while...after searching long and hard for songs that I have yet to hear from the group. It's one I reccomend for anyone who wants to listen to something with real devotion put into it, just as any other song from Teh group can be described.
Every time I listen to it, words fail to describe how odd it is to hear/read that some people don't like them for being apparently eitehr Gospel or Goth - when clearly, this isn't the case.
Totally a 5* song, worth anyones time to listen to...

I think the Harmonies in the chorus just complete the song. They are so awesome!

I love this song.:) It's so beautiful and heartfelt, as well as well-written. Also, the sound of it isn't one that you hear very often.

This song is my all time favourite done by these guys. I once read a story about this guy whos girlfriend died and he really related to this song. After reading that, I realised just how important music is and how beautifully heart wrentching this song is. Makes me cry and smile everytime I hear it.
