Just out of interest, if anyone had a good song from the earlier years of their lives, what would it be and why, what gives you good memories??

Direstraits. Whenever I was in the car with my parents as a child, thats what would be on. I still listen to them somtimes just for nostalgia's sake, I would never have liked them if I hadn't listened to them from such an early age. Them and Europes "The final countdown" (Children of Bodoms cover was better).

Ooo I cant remember the name of the song or who it was by now... grrrr... mind block! It goes something like.... "step off the train... I'm walking down your street again. Past your door, but you dont live there anymore. It's years since you've been there and now you've disappeared somewhere. Got a space, I need some better place.......and i miss u, like the desserts miss the rain.. and I miss you... like the desserts miss the rain"

Lyrics might be wrong too.. they just came outta my head!!

Anyways... I know its more mid 90's than early... but that still seems a LONG time ago to me.. This song was played a lot this certain summer/autumn and it reminds me of a specific time in my life. Gives me a weird kinda feeling when i hear it. I dont like it much anymore.. but its one of those songs from a long time ago that brings memories with it.

Nah... I just searched on the net... it was by "Everything But The Girl" and it was called "Missing" Hmmm.. a sign perhaps that I would go on to like another band who would have a song called the same thing!!? Sppppppppppooooooooooooooooooookeeeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyy yyy:p

Not really my thing so much either.. but as im a rocker virgin.. all those pop chartey things used to be what i listened to the majority of the time.

I didnt particularly like that song... but it reminds me a lot of a certain time when i was 11/12

Earliest songs i remember hearing that i liked would be various Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath etc my dad has loads of vinyl which he used to play a lot and it must've rubbed off on me cus are now two of my favourite bands lol. Don't really have many memories of things that happened musically from childhood although "Wyld Stalynnes" or however its spelt from teh Bil and Ted films with the little air guitar thing. Me and my sister were always doing that

Iron maiden, G'n'r, Black sabbath, Judas priest, Metallica, Motorhead, they all rock, spent most of my teenage years listening to 80's metal. Ozzy osbourne's another one. Also partial to a little meatloaf.

Well when I was very young it was Europe, Dire Straits and Bob Dillon :) Later on Alice Cooper and Bon Jovi! 'Poison' still gets me out of bed in the morning sometimes!

I listened to Ace of Base too, omg :o It's one sucky band. I was also a HUGE Madonna fanatic, I still like to listen to a few of her old songs, like Open Your Heart, Who's That Girl, Into the Groove, they're fun 80s songs that remind me of my childhood... I also liked stuff such as Haddaway, which is totally embarrassing..

By the way, I'm once again stating my prophecy that Madonna will go "darker" soon. I really don't like how she always has to "reinvent" herself to magically suit the latest trends, she should just cultivate her own style! First it was the weird techno thing, and since the next big thing is somewhat, well, Ev, she's gonna take their direction. Trust me :)
