WOW!
Your stuff is amazing! It's good on itself, but for someone so young, it makes it ever greater! You have an inate sense of proportion :) I think all you need to work is on the shadding: make it smoother and don't be afraid to risk!
My fav is your second of Amy. WOW!
I know what you said about John feeling complete: it does! But don't be afraid to risk more and apply darker shadding!
Keep it up!

Thank you guys!
Ashy [holly] - that just made me laugh - thanks! Have fun in Myrtle Beach?!
Fragile - thanks again! I still think it's bad though! I can find something wrong with everything.
Narya - That's the one problem I have with shading - taking the risk and making it darker. I feel really uncomfortable doing thing when I'm not sure if they'll work or not! I think it's getting better though.
I love your stuff too - I said in your thread that you must have so much patience, but it got eaten.
They're a lot paler on the laptop, but you have to have it bright because your eyes ache after a while...
Yesterday I drew my hand that I was drawing with - it was really cool - the only annoying bit was when I came to draw the pencil - it kept moving.
I'll post it soon - I'm banned from the laptop, so I'm not used to using it [the new one] and the internet isn't working on the normal PC

Thanks Lyradi!
Yeah - 16 next year! Woo!
Internet has been uninstalled(!) on PC, so I can't post the hand yet. I haven't been able to do anything recently - I have about four different projects for school and numerous bits of homework - most for Wednesday. I have band tomorrow which takes up a good 4 hours, but I might have to miss it to sort out my friend whose been away in Finland - we're doing a presentation on South Africa with two other people, but we don't know each other that well, she's been away, so it's been really hard.
I'm all South Africa-d out!
I ramble too much.
I could post the pictures of the maps we drew and the flag...
Jk.
When we get the internet fixed - Mum's trying to get a splitter for Dad's broadband line - I'll post this wierd thing that I did. It's really random, but cool.

I love your stuff too - I said in your thread that you must have so much patience, but it got eaten.
Don't be afraid to risk!
What you can do in case of too much fear though, is to make a copy of the "finished" drawing. Simply trace some features or the entire sketch onto another sheet and use it for practising the shadding. I think it will eliminate your fear of "ruining" what you have accomplished so far because you already have one finished result that you're happy with.
Then, when the two are done: lighter and "copy"darker, you can compare which one you like best and then maybe you'll realize it's not so bad to risk a little more ;)
It also helps to do shadding exercises on spheres and cubes, light objects from different angles, just so you get a better notion of what becomes dark when the light comes from one side or the other.
In terms of visualizing the final results, you can also use photoshop. Basic line is, maybe if you see the "darker" effect you'll grow fonder of it and start aiming to get there.
I became bolder with each drawing because I realized that if I did not, the drawings would look 2dimentional instead of 3D, and that can only be accomplished thru shadding. ;)
Post more soon! :)

That's quite funny actually - the weekend before last we had a lot of family friends around and one of them is a architect [he designed that sail hotel in Dubai]. I was saying to him that I had problems with the shading and he said to try and shade spheres and cubes.
I will definitely try it, and do what you said about making copies.
I have been looking at objects recently and thinking, "Oooh, it's very dark under there http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v520/xXRigorMortisXx/icon_ninja.gif".
Thanks!

Really?! LOL! Ooh how, whadayaknow, I actually got it right. :p
Spheres are especially good, methinks, cause the shapes of a person's face are composed of round/er lines. And I think the exercise is just meant for you to understand that if a sphere is to look like a sphere, you really do have to shade a lot, otherwise, it will look like a circle. :) It will also help you understand that many times, when you are shadding, the direction of the lines in your shadding with makes all the difference: if you make them rounder, it will look round; if you make it straight, the surface will look plane, etc.
That will be something you'll notice when shadding spheres vs cubes: the lines tend to be paralel to the shape and that makes a big difference.
C-ya!

C-ya!Yeah - it's funny when you hear the same thing from different people - and reassuring!
I understand, I'll definietly get practising too! Thank you - this is really helping a lot!
I have to sort of restrain myself in our art lessons when I see people shading really badly with like, big bands of grey like a fading stripe - it's a little scary! But then not a lot of people in my form like doing art [although they look at mine a lot... and roll their eyes]. It'll be better next year when we're set for GCSE.:p

Mmm... book reviews... it would help if the last time I read the book hadn't been last year though.

I just feel I need to post something - I've been very un-productive recently. I'm blaming that completely on school and the whole learning thing.
I have been shading spheres though!
And I found this cool thing that I did in RE, so that'll be up soon.
I guess I could just do them on the PC, put 'em on a CD-RW... whatever.

SoundOfSilence - Yeah - I do need to, "take the risk"!
However, I was scanning the other bits in, and I have realised that part of the blame lies with the scanner - it comes out a lot paler than it really is, but yes, I need to go darker.
All of those have been done with my beloved Derwent .sketching pencils. I got all in a panick the other day because my 5B is about 4 inches long... then I realised that I actually have three of them... all 4 inches long...
Yesterday though, I went into town to the Early Learning Centre to see if they had the tin of colouring pencils my Godmother gave to about 7 years ago:eek: (Best pencils I've ever had) but they didn't:( So I went to Annettes and spent £5 on arty things I don't really need. I got those graphite pencils with no wood on them. No 5Bs though.
Cry - I know! Her custom title used to be "Teh female Orgo".
So I'm trying to write the images to a CD, but our computer is spacking up again. I will get them up though, promise.

Definitel partly the scanner's fault -

I was just sitting in my room and needed to draw sommat.
I started colouring it in Photoshop, so we'll see what happens.

I use Derwent too... cause I was given a set of them. I am lazy to use them though.
We call the pecils with no wood "graphite sticks" but I don't know if that's what you guys call it. They're really good for large surfaces (hehe, you'll find that a 3B will do the job of you 5B pencil). Sharpening and drawing details is a hassle, and I don't think you can erase them either. But they're cool to work with :)
Cry - I know! Her custom title used to be "Teh female Orgo".
Yeah... Katya called her that and I gave her the user tittle. She diserves it!!! Unfortunately... I don't think the new system allows me to change it back cause there's no store anymore.

Thanks atenuix!
I think Will's done now.
The scanner is now completely fucked though!
Narya - Yeah, I think that's what we call them.
I haven't needed to sharpen them yet though! I didn't have any problems rubbing out. We'll have to see what happens. The problem is that I don't really know anyone else as interested in art as I am - I have to talk to my parent's friends about it. My current DT teacher and her husband are both very arty, it's strange seeing her around school!
I posted one of he pictures for this before the crash thing - everyone had to write a childrens story for an IT project at school, based on the poem, "The Lady of Shallot".
It was un-doubtably the best project I've ever done at school, so without further ado, this is the story of Little Meggy Shallot and the Very Big Jar of Yummy Cookies.
1) One day, little Meggy Shallot found a very big jar of yummy cookies.
So she took the very big jar of yummy cookies to the corner of the kitchen, sat down and started to eat.

2) A few minutes later her friends found her.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v520/xXRigorMortisXx/2Friends.jpg
"Can we have one of your yummy cookies, please?" they asked.
Little Meggy Shallot thought for a moment, then said, "NO, they're mine. All mine. Go away."
3) Her friends were very said, and started crying.
They were crying so much that Meggy's mother and father came in, took the cookies away and sent her to the naughty cupboard under the stairs.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v520/xXRigorMortisXx/3Parents.jpg
4) After Meggy had been crying for quite a while in the naughty cupboard, a tiny, sparkly fairy appeared.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v520/xXRigorMortisXx/4FairyCupboard.jpg
"Why are you crying, Meggy?" asked the fairy.
5) "I found a very big jar of yummy cooks but I didn't let my friends have any." Meggy sobbed.
The dairy flew up to her shoulder.
"That was a very selfish thing to do Meggy - you should always share with your friends."
Meggy sniffed, "What should I do? I made them cry."
"I think you should say sorry to them and share your cookies with them,"
And with that, the fairy smiled her sparkly smile and disappeared in a shimmery, "POOF"
6)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v520/xXRigorMortisXx/5NaughtyCupboard.jpg
So Little Meggy skipped out of the naughty cupboard under the stairs and went to find her friends...
7) "I'm sorry for not letting you have any of my cookies," she said.
They smiled, "That's OK," they said, forgiving her.
So her mother and father gave her the very big jar of yummy cookies back...
8) And they all ate happily ever after...

What a cute story! I had to study the lady of shallot last year. In my opinion, it's a great poem..but then again i'm a poetry whore and I like pretty much anything!
What i'd say for your story images - is to scan in your pencil drawings and go over the lines in photoshop on a new layer, rather than colouring with the pencil lines still intact. This makes it alot smoother and overall looks more professional. I often draw cartoons (anime/manga) and find that neater lines give a nicer final image.
I adore the third pencil image of Amy, the one with ribbons in her hair. It looks exactly like her, and does so with what looks like effortless charm. You have alot of talent for your age. When I was 14 my pencil realism wasn't as good as yours is now. Keep it up!

Ice Queen - Thanks! I thought it was a good poem too, but I wasn't going to say anything! Even though we're set one a lot of us aren't that enthusiastic!
I know what you mean about the lines - it was only for a class project and my form aren't that creative so they wouldn't have cared anyway!
It was the first big thing I've ever used Photoshop for, so it took me quite a long time to do - getting the top layer transparent and the bottom background white was the hardest. I did one both transparent and was like, "I don't need it like that?!!"
I also desperately need to buy a tablet - my sister broke my old one! It would have taken ages with the mouse.
Soon I'll have the whole summer to sit and play around and draw stuff.:D
That's my favourite one of Amy now, even though I hated it until about two weeks ago!
My Immortal-x - Thanks! I have a tonne of homework due, so that has to take priority over drawing:( But I will knuckle down when my history project's out the way!
Thank you guys!

Yeah it's good looking back thinking, "Dude that was crap, at least this stuff is a little better!"
I love fabrics! I made a cushion that would have been A/A& GCSE if it had a lining last year - I'll get photo of it sometime.
That bag was really fun to do, although it can only really hold a water bottle, a tube-y packet of Jaffa Cakes, my phone and iPod, and that's pushing it! It's really pretty though.
That photo was taken before I'd sewn it all together.
I really like freehand machine embroidery - you can really let yourself go and it's always effective.
I will make my own prom dress!

And it has hawt nekkid guys.
So now I can start learning!

Our art teacher's collected all our books in so I can't get anything from there, and Dad's scanner thinks that the things from my Yr 7 book are black and white so it messes around with them.

It was just a quick thing to see if it would work, which it sort of did but I'd rather use inks. I don't have any though so I used watercolours. It's pretty cool if you hold it up to the window or some kind of light source.
This is from pretty early on in my first year at secondary school [year 7 so that would be two years ago] - I've always been a pretty light person on the shading front. The scanner doesn't pick up that much, so it is heavier IRL -

[COLOR="Teal"]Before I go any further with this, could people tell me if there's anything serisouly wrong about it?
Not seriously, but there is assimetry in her face. Upper part of the nose, and the eye on the right. If you measure the eyes, you'll see that one I mentioned is wider, plus, it's more turned inwards than the other.
I think what you find funny is that the face is not on the vertical. The line that goes between the eyes, down the nose and in the middle of the lips is diagonal, and normally, photorefs with that kind of perspective are harder to do because that's not how you're used to looking at ppl...
But if you draw that line and then draw another that passes by the corner of her eyes and crosses it, you'll find different angles are formed in each side of the face.
I usually imagine lines between the different elements of the face to know if everything is in place. :)
You're off to a wonderful start! And I can see by the "skeleton" of your drawing that you have learned about how to draw. :D

There wasn't much I coud do about the position of the eye, but I tried to sort the other bits out.
I will do something about the pupil on the right, Amy's left. It's a little too big and isn't looking in the same direction. There are other bits aswell like the teeth and the bit of orange something on the scanner bed... it's on Will aswell.
Anything else?
The scanner is working and we now have broadband! It's all too good to be true.
I just scanned Will - I think he's finished, again it sort of feels complete, even though it doesn't really look totally right.

Hi!
The clothes look ok so far! But don't be afraid to make dark look dark. A good way to practise it to get a random cloth (a napkin or a scarf, for instance), just let it fall on a table and draw it.
Also, contrast is bigger when the fabric is shiny (look for the Amy dress one in my thread), which is not the case here but still, don't let it keep you from darkening the folds a wee bit more.
Also, it's important to practise degradee. For instance: if the fold is small and "tight", the transition white-black (or dark) is done much faster. If it's large and not very pronounced, it's longer. But I guess you know that.
I like what you did with her necklace too. :)

I did this in Photoshop last night. I'd've liked to have done more but the mouse has a serious problem in Photoshop and has seizures every few seconds so you hardly ever get a straight line if you've been on the computer for a while!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v16/xxblack_magicxx/Amy4eyes.jpg
It was from the current one of Amy that I'm doing - I made the pupil on the right smaller and then moved the whole iris [right?!] right a bit.
These are the clay pieces and bits that I did in activities week for the permanent wall display -
I took them with my phone [so they're a bit wierd] and then just uploaded them straight into Photobucket from the email, so I forgot to rotate them and whatever. I'll do that later if I can be bothered.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v16/xxblack_magicxx/Image205.jpg
(Mine are the top two) I was going to do three of them in a sort of L shape, but I decided in the end to do two.
I'm pleased with them - I haven't had that much experience with clay before.
The stairwell is going to get ripped out and replaced, and the tiles are going to go on the wall opposite the stairs. Hopefully we've made enough tocover the whole wall. The other clay pieces are going to trail off from the tiles in to the quotes on the wall - this guy came in and painted qutoes about art from artists - they're really cool like, "A line is a got that went for a walk." I can't remember who said that though. I'll copy them down next time I'm up there, they're really good.
So yeah, comments please!

Thanks, Twiggy!
We got our sketch books back today.
I'm getting a ceritificate in assembly for art, but loads of other people are so I'm not that over the moon... It wont really make up for the art prize.
It was so funny at Prizegiving on Tuesday. The lady that was giving out the books was sort of looking in the bigger ones with pictures as she was giving them out to see what they were like. At first I wasn't really that worried, but then I remembered that mine had loads of naked people in it and she'd definitely open it because I'd taken the dust cover off to hide the price so there wouldn't be a title on the front. She flipped it over a couple of times saying, "I don't know what this book is about!". I think she only got the torso of one of the men. It could have been so much worse!
Anyway, I've scanned probably the most interesting bits from my art book. Unforunately the laptop scanner has done it wierdly, but the computer is unwell...
This is one of the coolest things in it. As part of the cubism topic we had to draw our reflection in an object that would distort it - I used a metal mixing bowl. I really wanted to get my hand in it which is why it's the focus point of the whole thing. I had to cut the rest of myself out because our scanner fuzzed it up, but it's cooler this way anyway. So far no one has been able to work out how it works without squinting and looking funny at it.

p3leanne - I love the YS forum too. It's a really nice place to be able to look at other people's work and learn from it. And yes, there's an incredible amount of talent here, from poetry to Orgo.;)
Stef - Thank you very much. I've never tried doing a portrait in colour, but I have done other things - I think there's something on page 5. I'm not that confident with working in colour yet, although it's something I'd really like to nail. I use Photoshop quite a lot, like for the pyrokinesis things.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v16/xxblack_magicxx/scan0002red.jpg
Wow cool! Hehe I'm all into psionic powers too. My fav power would be photokinesis, the ability to control light energy like blast gigalaser beams and create areas of total darkness...yeah that'd be dudish too LOL. That's my new word of the day...dudish.
Nice job on exploring your scan with filters and effects. It's amazing what can happen. Try this to with that one. Set your drawing on it's own layer and set it to Multiply. Then make a layer underneath it and fill it any color you want...try a deep burgundy red. Then go back to the drawing layer and do a Hue/Saturation Adjustment on it (Image->Adjustments->Hue/Saturation) and play around with slider bars until the drawing itself is a color. Then make a new layer on top of the drawing. Get the brush tool and select a soft brush/airbursh. Then use the Options palette and set the brush mode to Soft Light and the Opacity to like 30%. Then pick a very intense Hue/Color like Yellow but pick the color between the far right corner and the upper left corner (which is white). Try painting the flames in with that! Maybe even try putting this layer underneath the drawing..I'm just not sure how the Multiply effect from the drawing layer will effect the Soft Light work. Well that's why Photoshop is so amazing...when you play around you make "happy accidents" and discover new techniques.
Nice job on the Amy port to. There's some distortion in the lower face but at least you attempted it and finished it. I tried to paint that one about a year ago and never finished it. I was very difficult to do is all I remember.
Please post more work soon!

orgo - Heh, yeah dudish is a word one of my friends uses way too much! My friend wants me to draw him a photokinesis-y one, so that might happen. I tried doing one in the car yesterday, but my sister didn't really appreciate having her hand messed about with and hanging in the air. It wasn't even for that long, I just needed a general idea but I think she wanted to suck her thumb. She has no idea.
I shall definitely try what you said. It's great when you stumble across something. Not so great when you're doing something else, think that it would be cool to include what you stumbled across and then can't remember how you got there. I should make notes. It was really fun doing all of those - it's so wierd how you can turn a black and white sketch into colour. It's pretty mindblowing.
Thanks, that one was quite a challenge, there's a lot more to it than just a head portrait - I don't know if there's a technical term for them?! There are bits that I'm not too keen on, but I'm not going to change it now. Her face is so complex. That's getting to be quite a common statement around here now!
There's a half finished Terry staring at me from across the table... it's quite freaky... he has no hair... any tips for dreadlocks, anyone?

The latest one of Amy is absolute awesomeness- wonderful proportions and shading. One thing I would say is to make the hair less scribbly...but other than that I absolutely love it - you have loads of talent!

i love your drawing of Amy Lee, it's so beautiful, are you planning on adding color to it or anything? i also like what you did with the one with the hands and fire, it looks amazing! ;) <3

Ice Queen - Thanks! Lol - I pwn at scribbling. But I think I did go a little OTT on the scribbling front there. I never really know how to tackle hair though, there can be so much to it.
Oceanic - Thank you, too. I might try and do something with that oen, possibly in Photoshop. I'd love to start using colour, but I sirt of need someone to teach me. We have a great friend who does life drawing classes (I might be starting in them, but they're for adults...) and he would be the one to ask. The pyro ones were really cool to do, I'm planning on printing them off and doing some sort of collage with them in my book as an example or sommat like that.

Thank you very much, but I'm really looking for something a little bigger, so it's easier to see the facial features.;)
I was doing what Orgo suggested and I had a couple of 'happy accidents'. They're like the other ones, only I think they're cooler, especially this one -

They're all pretty similar, I put a black overlay on, inverted it and then fiddled about with the Image->Adjustments->Hue/Saturation thing.
This one is slightly different -

I can't really explain how I did it, and then Photoshop crashed so I can't check.

Very good work, you're a wonderful artist. I could never draw hands and you're great at that. Can't wait to see what you show next. I always love seeing Shaun around here....so, ;). All of your drawings are wonderful, from Amy, to John, to Will, and the hands.

Thank you!
Hands are really intriguing. I got an amazing anatomy book for my school's prizegiving, and I keep meaning to read the bit about hands (Don't know why I haven't done it yet). I struggle doing small hands though, not small hands as in babies hands, but small hands for small drawings.
I'm getting round to doing one of Mr. Shaun, there's no way he could escape my book :D

WOAH! I absolutely LOVE your art. I'm 14 too, and it is good to know there's someone out there, that's my age, and loves are as much as I do. Are you going to pursue it in the future for a career? If not, YOU SHOULD! EXCELLENT JOB. <3
BlackMagic
08-08-2005, 06:24 AM
thexrecluse - Actually I've been thinking about that for a while now, more so in the past couple of weeks. I've been thinking about which areas I like and might consider, so yeah, my mum's persuaded me to go and see the careers lady at school and get some advice. Thanks!
It's incredibly annoying being 14...
The scanner's working! To an extent.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v16/xxblack_magicxx/PhotokinesisScanner.jpg
Done just with the scanner settings, I need to fiddle more with them.
Hopefully I can do more fiddling tomorrow in Photoshop.
This still needs a lot more work, I've decided, I don't really know why I'm posting it, but anyway -

This is the reason why I will be sticking with graphite for a while -

I have no confidence when it comes to using colour for portraits.
I added to that single hand I did -
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v16/xxblack_magicxx/sketches.jpg
And this is just a wierd... thing... that I did by adjusting "curves". I have no idea what they are.

Hey!
Great new work! The graphite one of Amy looks great! I'm glad you posted it. The shadding looks nice, but the hair could be better with a little more work.
I tried to work with color pencils too, but it didn't work either. :p It's really frustrating because graphite workds by pressure or pencils with different softeness... not so with the coloring. :)
All the hand drawings are really expressive. Hands are very hard to draw - I still struggle - and you do a great work.
Keep it up!

Nirina - Thank you, lol, that was quite scary actually! My school friends have said that some of them look like photos the first time you look at them.
Narya - Thanks! Hands are still tricky and I never really have a plan for how I'm going to tackle them, which probably gets in the way.
It's flesh tones that I can't get at all, it's just, blergh.
I don't know what it is about me and hair, but we don't gell too well.
Same goes for me and my scanner. It's telling me that, wait, no it's not. Make your bloody mind up! Earlier it said that the scanner wasn't actually there, and I had to install it again, and now it's just scanned... honeslty.
Anyway, this is what I wanted to scan -

I did it on a piece of black plastic packaging you get inside boxes.
I showed it to my mum and she just looks at it and goes, "Well you'll have to wash it off, won't you? It's got to go back in the box!"
My sister laughed and said it was a waste of paint.

Meh. it's okay. But I'm just so amazed seeing as you're 14, just like me and all! You have incredible talent for your age, I wish I were as good as you. And your school sounds much better than mine, at least next year I'll be in year 10, I picked art for my options and my teacher says this year we'll actually learn stuff you know. For the past 3 years we've just been told what to do and left to get on with it, almost made me give up on art. Anyways, I'm rambling, I'll shut up bout this now!
You latest one is really cool, I like the way you've done it, looks great. So did you have to wash it off or did you manage to prevent that? Would be a shame to lose it.

p3leanne - Nah, it's still here by the computer. I'd like to do more with it.
I like our school, it's good (top 5% in country) - it can be a bit odd sometimes, you know, with wierd teachers and that, and the uniform - I've been in green ever since I started school. It's worse here though, we have green skirts now, and wierd eachy-mustard colour tops. I don't really mind the uniform though. People petitioned for trousers - they were offered green ones, so they didn't bother. Anyway.
I'm taking art too (duh). I hope we learn stuff, but I hope we don't learn what I already know... I've learnt more from people on here, and advice they've given or read, than anywhere else.

It wasn't as productive as I hoped it would be, but part of the reason we went was so that my dad and his mate and his wife could sail their boat without having to worry about their two year old, so my sister and I spent most of our time with her - she's the cutest thing ever. Very intelligent too.
I did a little sort of profile of her, but I don't think I'll have time to resize it now - I'm only on because Mum's out shopping!
I did this one morning while it chucked it down outside, which was inevitable!
I was originally going to do that whole picture of Amy (I don't know if you can tell that it's Amy though) and the guys, but then I didn't. It'll come up much bigger if you click it.

I like it too, I was just playing around last night, but the computer crashed, so I tried again this morning.
Some of the things I did camping, the little girl in the corner is the two year old we were with. That's also her little hand, and another one of her sort of in the middle left. They're not that good because she kept moving, but I didn't mind. She has the longest eyelashes ever.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v520/xXRigorMortisXx/tentSketch.jpg
The big one of my hand was hard. I had it too close to my face, so I got the wierdy bit that comes from the other eye, so I just closed my right eye in the end.

Im_Broken - It was tricky. My sister tried getting her to look at her, but she was more interested in my Jaffa Cake, which I stupidly took a bite out of before I could finish it... ?!
Narya - Good to see you again! Thanks! Doing the hand was almost as funny as doing Alice (the girl). My mum was reading, and reluctant to model for more than a split second. She was also too close and at the wrong angle, so I just had to wing it. I think I would have liked it to be a bit higher, but, you know. In general, though, it all worked surprisingly well. I wanted it to look like she's being sucked/dragged into this... place, and she doesn't want to leave everyone and everything behind, so yeah.
I will certainly work shading!
chii_chan - Thank you:) Thanks for the big grins too XD
Aodhamair - Thanks, that was really nice to hear... or rather, read :p I did hair right! The metalwork teacher loved the necklace, she's really wierd.
This is a torch I made in electronics in year 7. It's one of those flat ones where you just squeeze the middle and it lights up. There isn't really a front or back, you just turn it round think, ah, how strange. Providing you turn it the right way...

That was when I was good at electronics. My attempt at this year's project fell appart. The design was really cool, but I needed to measure things and do it properly, but didn't have time. I didn't even finish last year's!

Willow. - It'd fit in my room... when I get it decorated...
It'd be really cool if it was done bigger and properly, with wood and a proper mirror. It'd have to be altered a bit, I used mount board, so it was -fairly- easy to weave it under and over, obviously you couldn't do that with wood.
I'll have to take pictures of it when we've got the digital camera sorted, the scan shows nothing - it's much bluer and prettier >.<
We had to design a mirror with a sea theme, nearly everyone else did things with fish and sea creatures and things like that.
Lol, I just found this on my phone - my eye!

:D Some wands my mate and I made for my Harry Potter b'day party a few years ago. We did them with random bits of dowel round the house, paint and string. We all dressed up and went to an advanced screening of the Chamber of Secrets. It was so funny!
Oh, and that's my bear's arse.

WOW YOU HAVE PRITTY EYES!!!! Mine are just REALLY dark brown.
Like the wands...they're very interesting. Why you got a pic of your bear's arse?
Looking forward to seeing the frame in all its glory (a photo)

SunriseDream - Thanks! Lol, if I try and combine people and colours... it's not that good!
Im_Broken - It's a bit of an exaggeration of my eye - I took it with my phone. Although it is a greener brown at the edges, it's not that green, unless I had been crying when I took it... It's cool, I have this sort of brown star with loads of points coming from the pupil.
Willow. - Thank you. We got paint everywhere doing the wands! My bear told me he wanted to see you guys, so he sat on the scanner.
This is the "outside" of the felt thing I'm working on. There's more to do, a few more beads, I think -
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v520/xXRigorMortisXx/Back.jpg
For some reason my scanner scanned it black, so I fiddled with the settings and that's about as good as I can get it without it going squarey.
Hmm... I changed my font colour...

I do the same thing. I usually take pictures of my eyes with my phone. Mine look green after I cry too. Weird.

Little Bear says, "Hello, Shamrock!"
-Sigh of relief-
Mum's camera doesn't work, so I convinced Dad to let me use his, so I took pictures of all the crafty things I could see in my room. (Including the mirror!)
I won't post them all now, I'll try and spread them out.

You can't fit that much in it though. A bottle of water takes up a lot of room so then there's only space for my phone.
It's good for stuff like iPod, phone and keys... without the bear on my keyring...
Feedback, svp.

I until now had never managed to reply to your thread, which I should have.
My favourites are the hands, John's portrait and the Amy drawing in your sig! Her eyes are gorgeously done on that one, even though you can't really see it in the signature itself :p

Im_Broken *Snatches piano away* NOOOooo!! jk. Lol, it is beautiful - it's so nice to play aswell. A lot peoples are really sort of clunky and I don't like the way the keys feel, even if they're brand new. It was only about £80 too! There is a dent in it though T_T;; (I'd prefer to call it a scar though >.<) where careless people open the door too hard and it hits it! You can just see the sort of edge of it in the bottom one - the very light yellowy bit right on the edge.

OMG...your piano is awesome. I've wanted a piano for so long but all i've got is a crappy keyboard that has crazy electric synths and sounds like a bloody car starting up.
*eats flapjack*
Are you good at piano? I notice the music on it is Listen to the rain - it'd be awesome if you could record yourself playing that and post it here...I love the rich sound a normal piano gives...electric ones loose the charm.

Wow, lotsa luverly people! Yay!
Im_Broken - Don't worry! Thank you - I did post it in the end, I don't know if you've seen it there already.
She is so cute - she calls my Mum James! Her name is Jane... but I didn't tell you that! Thanks again!
detail.freak - Thanks - I think I prefer it like that too, but I'll "finish" it anyway. You realy should consider doing something for it, if you haven't already - it'd be amazing!
Willow. - Yeah, she's growing on me!
Alice is the daughter of some family friends of ours. Her dad is an amazing architect, so I'm always a bit nervous when I show him what I've been drawing - he's really keen to give me pointers though and he says that I'm better than he was when I was his age...which is a bit scary! He asked me if he could have the fourth one of Amy - he thinks I'll do well if I persue it... ?!!
Rock Queen - Hehe, thanks! It's always a bit funny doing people's teeth, especially if they're not straight - they're quite a personal thing and you don't really notice them (as much) until you come to draw them, then it get's a bit hmm...!
Ice Queen (Lol, two Queens in one day!) - It is!! I love the colour - it's a really beautiful reddy-brown which the camera kind of got, but not really!
Mmmm... flapjack...
I...umm, yeah, well... I had lessons for a year when I was about 9 or 10, the stuff was pretty basic, but it was enough so that I could teach myself later. My teacher was a bit of a scales freak too (even though they're some of the most useful things I've ever learnt!).
Lol - I mastered My Heart Will Go On and On and On and On, but only started playing properly again when I heard Evanescence and got the Fallen sheet music. When I first saw the chorus and bridge for My Immortal I thought I was never going to be able to do it, but I practised like hell and got there!
Anyone I play to says I'm really good, but I'm an expert at saying I'm not and shying away!
The sad thing is that I stopped playing when I got bogged down with school work, so now I'm a bit rusty. Unless I practise! I can still do little bits here and there (the free preview pages you get at the sheet music sites!), like Broken, BMTL, Trouble.
Listen to the Rain is getting there, I just have to put it all together - I'd love to record myself, but I don't really know how. If we got a microphone sorted out for the computer I might be able to, but I don't think it can take much more!
I hate keyboards. They're an abomination... imo. :D
Thanks!
jlc_rocks05 - Haha! Thank you! I don't know who would buy 'em though!
