The Open Door, track #2
written by: Amy Lee and Terry Balsamo
Background vocals by Carrie and Lori Lee
First single off of The Open Door; originally slated for rock radio adds on August 8, 2006, it was released for radio play on July 31, 2006, due to an internet leak of the song.
Performed live on Conan O'Brien on 10/2/06
------------------------------
"Call Me When You're Sober"
Lee plays the woman scorned. Key lyric: "Must be exhausting to lose your own game."
Amy Lee: It's very obvious who it's about. I know that people would read between the lines and think it's about my ex-boyfriend Shaun Morgan [of Seether], but I wanted to be completely clear. I needed so bad to say exactly what I was feeling for so long. Music is therapy for me. It's my outlet for every negative thing I've ever been through. It lets me turn something bad into something beautiful.

Lyrics
Don't cry to me
If you loved me
You would be here with me
You want me
Come find me
Make up your mind
Should I let you fall
Lose it all
So maybe you can remember yourself
Can't keep believing
We're only deceiving ourselves
And I'm sick of the lie
And you're too late
Don't cry to me
If you loved me
You would be here with me
You want me
Come find me
Make up your mind
Couldn't take the blame
Sick with shame
Must be exhausting to lose your own game
Selfishly hated
No wonder you're jaded
You can't play the victim this time
And you're too late
Don't cry to me
If you loved me
You would be here with me
You want me
Come find me
Make up your mind
You never call me when you're sober
You only want it cause it's over
It's over
How could I have burned paradise
How could I - you were never mine!
So don't cry to me
If you loved me
You would be here with me
Don't lie to me
Just get your things
I've made up your mind

Translation from the French mag article, taken from ToD news thread. Credit for translation goes to julie:
The second track starts with some piano playing by Amy (the instrument which Amy used to write most songs), backed up with vocals that sound very “produced”. The use of samples already is noticeable as the chorus ends.
Amy: ‘It’s DJ Lethal, a mate of Terry’s, whom has done an enormous amount of work for the programming of this CD. I’m more than satisfied with his contribution to this album!’
The big guitar sound created by Terry and the arrangements brought by Johnny cause this track to be one of the heaviest songs on the album. The lyrics about a break-up are most likely related to Seether’s Shaun Morgan, Amy’s ex-boyfriend.

So if this thread is unlocked now...
From various articles:
CMWYS is a regular-paced song. Was described as "gut-spilling". Has remnants of Evanescence's old goth sound, but with woman-scorned lyrics and a bluesy arrangement of strings and organ, it sounds more Fiona Apple than new metal. A very effective first single.
This blurb is actually from the ultimate-guitar.com article (http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/upcoming_releases/evanescence_ready_to_return_despite_troubles.html? 200606190827).

Evanescence Want Your Call! Listen To Their New Single
Get ready for the return of Evanescence when they deliver us their eagerly-anticipated new single 'Call Me When You're Sober'. Making its debut on Australian radio on August 4, this heavy-hitting track will be the first single from their upcoming album 'The Open Door' and indicates an even richer, more intricate sound for the band. Check out Amy Lee's message and take your very first listen to the single here!
Evanescence die-hards should start getting pumped - the heavy-hitting rockers are about to deliver us their brand new single, 'Call Me When You're Sober', which will get its debut spin on Australian radio on August 4.
Dark, moody and powerful, packs a massive hard rock punch and Amy Lee's ever-stunning vocals take her reliably dark and emotional lyrics to new heights: "You never call me when you're sober, you only want it 'cause it's over."
'Call Me When You're Sober' will be the first single unleashed from the band's upcoming album, 'The Open Door', due for release on September 30 and Amy Lee recently said to Jam!Music that fans who reckon they know what the new LP from the multi-platinum selling rock outfit is going to sound like should think again...
"I think if people expect this album is going to be softer and more feminine and more wimpy, they're going to be surprised," Lee told JAM! Music. "It's not an album full of 'My Immortal'-like songs. Every song is completely different and I feel like at times it definitely goes heavier than we had the capacity to do before. But in a way that's still new and fun and unique and not trying to be like anything else that's out there."
While 'Call Me When You're Sober' doesn't hit radio next month, we've got a sneaky snippet of the track, plus a quick message from Amy herself, for you to check out. Take your very first listen right here...

I'm reopening this thread because I'd be interested in having someone translate what Amy said about the song, since that French DJ was talking extremely loudly over her..I could only catch the tail end.

Translation:
A dj met Amy Lee at new-york city last week and asked her what does the title of the new single means and this is what she answered.
You don't understand what it means. It has to be taken at the proper sens!! It's about a rupture, this moment at the end of a relationship when you have to impose yourself, say no! I think we all know people, know friends who have a relation with someone who have problems of addiction. It can be really hard and at one moment you have to take a move back to realise that you can't solve everyone's problemes and that they have to cure by themselves.
thats it!

CMWYS song played on radio = previously announced 7/8th August, now apparently 2nd August
CMWYS digital download = 4th September
CMWYS single CD = 25th September
Does that clear it up? :)

Why do I have a feeling that this is going to make people see Amy as a sex goddess? :p It's not everyone that's sexy enough to get seduced by a wolf...
But seriously, I guess the Little Red Riding Hood theme really could work, then, if they're doing it like that. And is it just me, or is everyone being haunted by little red riding hood lately? :p
Only one thing to say that can sum up all my thoughts here:

Haha, true! :p
It's so fresh and quite different. It's not whiney or that poppy or whatever. I like the beat to it. To me it's a 'strong' song. It's not sad or so. And the piano parts sound a little more complex/mature than the piano stuff on Fallen.
What I like about it is that it has a jazzy-vocal kinda FEEL to it. I'm not saying the song is jazzy cause it certainly isn't. But the vocals kinda have that feel sorta kinda...a bit Norah Jones-ESQUE.
That's just what I got from it.

It's a matter of getting used to it *nods* I rather have a song that sounds like multiple tracks blended into one, than some monotonous one.

Anywho,
I agree with Tracie, but I think it works out better this way. Its something different and in some ways its not. I love the song though. If this is how the rest of the album is going to sound then wow.

Ok I just listened to the song and holy crap and I can't even express how much it ROCKS! I love the piano intro, when the guitars kick in and of course, Amy's voice is amazing! I also like how the song title is only mentioned during the bridge.
 is all I can say.
Amy + the guys have totally altered themselves, it's just amazing. I'm in total awe lol. I love this song, it's the best ever. I just can't wait till the album.

I just heard the song and I was like: wow. What an amazing song. It really seem like Evanescence, but a totaly 'grown up' Evanescence you might say. It's a very intense song, and the guitars on it look amazing. Great riff, the drums are much better then Fallen. And the song rocks. It's a really awesome song for being on the first single. Let's just hope the whole CD come out and be as rocking as this song is. I love it. <3

I agree. Amy seems to be satisfied with simple lyrics and that's fine with me. Some artists make poetry of their lyrics, she chooses not to.
And simplicty is good anyway.

You mean, no more fangasms allowed... dayum...
Anyways, it's amazing how quickly it has spread! I listened to it a couple of days ago and I can't say it blew me away right then and there. I guess I was stuck on the teaser - it actually scared me a little. But I must admit that after a while, I was totally into the song, and reading the lyrics makes it all come together (thanks b00bles for that).
I think the little laughter at the end is just perfect as finalle. The lyrics are very strong and it definitely brings power to it, and a totally cool "I WIN" message.
It's a hit.
I'm very curious about the rest of the album now. :) So I guess the single does its job well, since that seems to be the common reaction.

I tried to think of something new that I can say about the song, but failed. Yes, I love it. Yes, it's different and interesting and not boring at all. I didn't think they'd go in that direction and I like the fact they did. Though I'm not so sure the song will do well in charts, aggressive Evanescence songs never managed to do it.
Now I'm dying to get the next thing - the video.

I think it's because in the intro, the song structure moves into the relative major instead of droning on in the minor key. That, and since it's a harmonic minor (D# instead of D natural), there are a few chords in there that are usually OUT of key (ie: there's a C-Cm chord shift in the song, or at least it sounds like it. It could be C-B7, I can't tell. Too much going on in the song, and I think the D#/Eb is in the bass.) It doesn't stick to just one set of chords like so many of the songs on Fallen did (seriously: Em, G, C, D. That's pretty much all the chords in ANY song on that album. Just speaking objectively.)
Is it against the rules to give a chord progression of the song? (I can do it by ear.)

I love the song... sure it's a bit different from their previous music, but I can relate to it really well and not to mention this song is mostly in my vocal range. I love singing Evanescence's songs but sometimes Amy's voice is too high for me! :p
I can't wait to hear the rest of the album. :)
Wow, I really love this song. It's already stuck in my head. Her voice comes off a LOT stronger than it did on "Fallen", and the lyrics are more powerful, less trying-to-be-artistically poetic. I am officially blown away.

Wow really? So what's the chord progression? I would really like to play it on my acoustic guitar.

And the line: You can't play the victim this time, is just awesome!

When I first heard it I was like "hmm..." but now after listening to it a lot more, mmm I love it. The changes in some odd way remind me of System of a Down for some reason (no I'm not saying they sound like them, before anyone even says it). That 10 seconds of this song we heard before didn't do it justice at all. Honestly I wasn't expecting something this good from what I heard in that 10 seconds. But I hope this song does well...it's Amazing :D

I agree with Dropper that it's a little bit busy in some places (it's so much more guitar than I'm used to with Ev!), but it's really growing on me. The lyrics are great (as with every Ev song, they really speak to me). Actually, they relate so well to a recent break-up...which is nice...I feel validated :) Most of all, I think her vocals are so much more mature...I'm dying to see the video, I'm sure it will be like nothing we've seen before!

Chord Progession for "Call Me When You're Sober" by pixelle.
Disclaimer: I am NOT a professional. I've had 9 years of choir and 3 years of sheet music studying. I DO have perfect pitch though, and I've trained my ear to do chords. If there's a chord I'm uncertain of, it'll be marked. Anything that needs to be explained is marked as well.
CALL ME WHEN YOU'RE SOBER
Key: E minor (E F# G A B C D E)
Dictation notes: Chords are given over the word where they BEGIN. If there is no change, no chord is given over the line. Two dashes indicates that over one word/phrase, the chord changes.
INTRO:
Em
Don't cry to me
C
If you loved me
Em___________Eb
You would be here with me
G____________Eb
You love me, come find me
G_____________Cm -- G
Make up your mind
VERSE 1:
Em
Should've let you fall
And lose it all
So maybe you can remember yourself
Can't keep believing
We're only deceiving ourselves
____________________Em - C
And i'm sick of the lies
C (cont'd)_B**
And you're too late
Chorus:
Em
Don't cry to me
C
If you loved me
Em___________Eb
You would be here with me
G____________Eb
You love me, come find me
G____________Cm -- G
Make up your mind
Verse 2:
Em
Couldn't take the blame
Sick with shame
Must be exhausting to lose your own game
Selfishly hated
No wonder you're jaded
_______________________________Em - C
You can't play the victim this time
C(cont'd)__B**
And you're too late
(repeat chorus)
Bridge:
C_________Cm_______________G--C****--G
You never call me when you're sober
C________Cm_____________G -- Eb
You only want it cause it's over
G____G--Eb
It's over
Bridge 2:
Am___D___Em__Ebdim7***_____Em
How could I burn paradise
Am____D__Em
How could I
C_________B**
You were never mine
(repeat chorus)
Notes:
** = Another B and A problem. There's a B in the bass, but an A in the melody about 90% of the time. So while the guitar chords are using this B-D#-F# triad (indicative of a B major chord), Amy is fluctuating between an A and a B, meaning it could be a B major chord or a B major 7th chord (B7)
*** = Thought it was a B chord for the longest time; listened to it again and figured out that there wasn't a B in there at all. Played on my keyboard and figured out it was an Eb-variant.
**** = This is another tricky chord. I thought I had the chord shift down the first couple times I listened, but upon second thought, I've decided to make certain that everyone knows it MIGHT NOT be right.
Have fun, piano and guitar players!

Poof. Checked out AOL to see if they mentioned anything about Call Me When You're Sober coming up soon, and this might be old or something, but this is all I got.
EVANESCENCE -- "OPEN DOOR" (WIND-UP RECORDS)
Rock act Evanescence will release the long-awaited studio follow-up to 2003's "Fallen" on Oct. 3. "Open Door" reunites the band with "Fallen" producer Dave Fortman, and will be preceded by the intriguingly titled first single, "Call Me When You're Sober." "Fallen" has sold more than 15 million copies worldwide, according to the label. U.S. sales alone tally 6.5 million units."
Which most of you with AOL probably noticed already.
All's I can say, as I already said it however, is that this song is amazing. I love it. The guitar is so much heavier, which I noticed would be true from the clips...
I planned on just, like, going to bed and listening to the harmony/guitar only. I do that a lot with Ev...it's actually awesome. I am actually checking it out with my karaoke tool on Windows Media player, and it's REALLY awesome..haha, the guitar is pretty cool...makes me wanna dance. :p
Ann
PS: OHHH! Right before the, "How could I burn paradise " part, there's organ! :) Sorry, I was looking forward to hearing organ.
And that chord progression is amazing, man! I am totally going to go check that out.

Now that people have heard it, I want to say OMFG....I can't believe it's here....we can finally fall in love with Amy Lee's voice and the band's talent all over again.
This song is so powerful, and sends a great message out. I love the lines "Selfishly hating, no wonder you're jaded, can't blame the victim this time"... it came to me at the perfect time, right when I was breaking up with someone, a few days after actually, but still. I don't want to relate it this relationship, but I can feel it happening already, most of the lines remind me of times with my ex...
Anyways, now that I've had my fangasm, I can't wait for the new album.
pixelle

PS: Everyone who keeps asking why you're hearing so much soul in the song, it's because there are a lot of accidentals in the song: Lots of Bb and Eb all over the place! And instead of signing the notes "straight", she's swinging into them. ;)

It's typical that I happen to listen to Call Me When Your Sober for the first time whilst drunk. heh.
It's very interesting I have to say. I can't get over how different it sounds to Evanescence's old music. I am very much in love with it. It's really good to hear something new. I can really sense how Amy has just let go. If the rest of the album blows me away as much as this song, Evanescence are in for a high win

I'm really not keen on it. Disappointed to be honest...it just doesnt hit me as anything amazing. Personally I was expecting something a bit more, something that I cant put my finger on. It's a new sound, but it seems to be relatively weak in terms of the power of the instrumentals and the actual lyrics (It's the repetition of 'me' in the chorus that bugs me...'me' is a short, kind of feeble word I must say and doesnt really work well in this kind of song). The quality to Amy's voice has somewhat hollowed, besides the few more soulful parts.
Ill need more convincing. Which is a huge shame because evanescence basically shaped alot of my musical tastes, and alot of what I listen to now, the kinds of bands I wouldnt have gotten into if I hadn't have constantly played Fallen and Origin when I was younger.
If it wasnt for Evanescence, I wouldn't have progressed as much with my singing and I wouldn't have been inspired to start a band of my own. The ethereal, atmospheric and powerful vibes just arent present enough in this song, at least they arent as forward as they were on the previous albums, and that can only mean a turn for the worst.
The use of Lacrimosa on the song for the open door trailer sounds very nice...but that isn't evanescence's own work...and Amy's vocals seem again, hollow, over such a beautiful choir piece.

Agreed. I know a lot of people who hasn't like it, though it's perfectly acceptable for each person like or dislike it. It's a totaly new Evanescence, I agreed, but is a better one in my point of view. And I just love it. The durms are awesome.

just heard it. well, for the fifth time actually, but anywho, i love it. it's very unique. Quite soulful, i must agree, the bridge is a bit of a twist, like to another song, but it works, and it was very good! and yes, those advertisements do no justice WHATSOEVAR!! and the giggle is hot, lol.

The only thing I keep thinking about is the day I first heard BMTL and got hooked on Evanescence. I wonder, if it was CMWYS instead of BMTL, would I have been instantly hooked? I somehow think not. Would have been curious about the band for sure, but not like whoa--who's this?

Er.. I'm not sure if I like it either. Or maybe I need a better quality version of the song.
I must say though that Amy's voice is AMAZING. I definitely like the bridge part. And the song seems a bit "happier" than the songs on Fallen.
I'm going to listen to it again. I'm thinking that the more I listen to it, the more I'll like it. I hope.

Great song!!! Lots of piano in it:D . And the bass! I can hear the bass! This is so rare. Will did a good job. He is already missed.
But I still think John's backing vocals could be used instead of the Amy's double vocals (if you can understand me). He has a great voice, why not use it?!:p
I love the new song. Finally!

For me, its gonna take some getting used to. People are saying its different. I think the intro is different. To me its still ev and not that far from fallen. I don't know what it is, but it hasn't really sunk in yet. it also maybe the fact that i can't believe i'm hearing new ev.

I definately agree that it takes some getting used to. Some will like, dislike, love or hate this song. We as ev fans, know we can't fault someone for what they think. It's why the music is there...for us to enjoy or skip over. I happened to love it more each time I listen it....already got it memerized....I feel as if it's a new band, not the one I'm used to, and as I said before, it's definately redefining why I love Ev so much.

Hmmm.
I'm still really on the fence about CMWYS.
I can't help but admit I'm a tad dissapointed - the way Amy talked about the new material, I was sure I'd be blown away... but this song hardly does that (though I'm not about the judge the entire album on this one song especially considering I haven't even heard anything else from it yet...).
I was hoping for something more dark and "ethereal" I suppose, but this song does sound very poppish and as someone said, Nora Jones inspired. (Strongly dislike the Nora Jones sound). Maybe it's a little more mainstream-ish than I'm used to hearing from Evanescence.
Though, I do love the new powerful sound in Amy's voice, and the insane tempo changes and such. It's a strong song... I'm sure after a few listens it'll totally grow on me.
My only real issue with this song is it isn't striking any emotion in me. Every song on Fallen and most of the older material struck chords within me all over the place and this just isn't really ringing any bells except making me excited that we're finally getting to hear some new stuff, lol.
I'm still holding onto the assurance that the rest of the album will hold up to the excitement about it, and I'll get that Dark, Ethereal< Sexy Evanescence sound Amy assured us it was, and what I'm craving for :P ;)

K. I listened to a better quality version of the song. I listened to it twice without headphones and twice with headphones. After listening to it without headphones, I was still iffy on the song because it sounded like the guitars were all over the place. After listening to it WITH headphones, I definitely like the song a whole lot more. The backup vocals are awesome. The chorus is awesome. Amy's vocals are awesome (there were some parts that gave me chills). And the bridge gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it.
Lacrymosa is probably going to kick CMWYS's ass though.

I'm so with you on this one. That's where I was going with the comment I made about being hooked right off the bat when I first heard BMTL. Not only the lyrics, but the music spoke to me in ways no other song ever did. CMWYS does not connect with me on that level though. On the level of, omg--it's brand spanking new Evanescence and it rocks, it does though.
I have higher hopes for the rest of the album because of all the reviews and because of the Lacrymosa snippet [which to me is teh shiznit already].

Its reminding me of a Kelly Clarkson song (I like kelly clarkson a bit so its not bad!) especially the beginning part, but a hell of a lot more rock.
Maybe I'm just getting used to the "new Evanescence" but I wasn't hooked the first listen.
Maybe the video will round it out for me, like someone said before I first heard Evanescence by watching the video.

Listening to it, I feel more like it's focused on getting across Amy's anger than making us relate to her anger. UnFallenish, as you said, but I like this way just as much. It's just as catchy a song to me, not because we feel what she does, but because her emotion is so pure, raw, uncut. Except maybe in the first part of the bridge.
Maybe that's just me. And maybe I'm just bad at explaining it. :D

i absolutely love the song.
i think what really gives me the chills is the sudden changes in the song, and the harmony amy creates.

Yeah; it's easier to hear with headphones, WildAngel. I completely missed it the first time I heard it and I've been listening with nothing BUT headphones. Just a quiet little *gig* that you have to listen for.
I don't get why everyone is making such a big deal of it. If it was an actual laugh, then maybe. But it's barely noticeable. I don't hear any sinister or humorous or whatever quality that so many of you are reading into it. I find it highly ironic that you all are analyzing a .000005 second sound, instead of picking apart the lyrics, melody, etc. (not that I'd prefer the latter, but it would at least spark some more-interesting conversation) But hey..this is EvBoard.

Maybe it's a little more mainstream-ish than I'm used to hearing from Evanescence.
I mean, I do respect all opinions but some are just strange to understand... Like this one... I mean, "a little more maisntream-ish"??? Did you listen to "Fallen"??? This was the most commercial and mainstream album of this genre of music over the past six years, and most part of its song are maisntream... So, for saying that, I suppose you are not used to hearing "Fallen" - it's the only way to make your comment more understandble... Do you honestly believe that "Call Me When You're Sober" is more mainstream than "Bring Me To Life" or "My Immortal"??? Strange.... Anyway, if it's your opinion, ok, but a strange one and very common now...

Hahaha, exactly what I was thinking when I read that, but I'm careful on what I say, 'specially here, because I don't like getting into arguments.
What I like about Call Me When You're Sober is that there are a bunch of layers. Like, where you people say the song gets too much to listen to, I love it. It's one of the reasons I ADORE Danny Elfman, especially when he made music for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, because there are layers and layers, and each time you listen to the song again, you hear something new. And that's what I hear with this song. I think it's amazing. I am wondering if that's the effect Amy was going for at all, since I know she likes Danny Elfman/Tim Burton.
My ears love the new Evanescence. I was already expecting something totally different, so maybe that's why I don't have to "get used to" the recording. Maybe not. Maybe I just like it. Who knows, who cares? All's I know is that it's amazing, for real :)

wow, I just listened to CMWYS.
I don't no what to think, but all I can say is that i am very impressed.
It's hard for me to come to terms with, because it has been 3 years since we have hear any fresh new material, and to finally hear a new song, it's hard to get my head around to the fact that, that IS amy singing & that IS evanescence. The band has grown alot, and you can really hear it, but I also think within the three year period , her fans have also grown (Well I know I have). So yeah, I can just feel the energy is this song, and I can feel the frustration. It's great, because we're all dealing with certain things/situations on our lives, and hearing this song totally refreshes my mind. Ok, I'll stop blabbing, and I'll save it for the album. But I am very satisfied, yet it's only one song. I don't thing the album will be disappointing.
amazing! definately more heavier & more layers, as mentioned before.

Oh man, I have been reading everyone's comments all day on this song, and it was KILLING me, because I hadn't had a chance to hear it. xD
But I finally got to hear it. Of course, I spazzed, I was freakin' excited. <3
I am now getting the chance to hear it on headphones, and it sounds much better than listening through computer speakers. I'm not sure what the difference is, but I love it much more on headphones. XD Besides, my computer speakers are old and suckish anyway.
I am very happy to hear a new song from them, and I am even more eager to hear the entire album.
I do love this song, though I wish I could pinpoint WHAT exactly makes me love it. Then again, it's probably been said a thousand times by now. It's refreshing to hear new music, and on top of that, something a little more different than what we're all used to.
I like that the song's lyrics are powerful, rather than the angst of most songs based on relationships (such as 'oh I love you, I miss you, come back to meeeee'), this is more angry. I like the aggressive feel, especially coming from a woman's vocals, because there seems to be too many songs where girls are broken up at the end of a relationship.
I am soooo eager to see the music video. Wolves! Woooolves <3 I love wolves. <3 And getting to see Amy Lee and wolves together, that is going to kick so much ass, and I just can't wait.
I'm sooo ready to hear the album, too. Since Amy seems to be telling us that the whole album is different, I'm ready to hear all that they've put into it. But I think CMWYS can keep me satisfied two months. Hopefully.
I suck at giving comments. XD I know. I'm sorry. But I did want to say something since I've been reading this thread all day.

Call Me When You're Sober is nothing short of amazing. Never before have I heard a song so diverse musically.
Lyrically, though the lyrics are not at all complex, they still manage to shine in their simplicity. Also, though they lyrics are simple, they are piercing as well as genuine.
Vocally, I am pleased with the lengths that Amy has gone with her voice. Amy's voice, as we have heard, as changed a great deal within these past few years, and I think this is fantastic. Amy's voice is richer, but her voice has not lost it's soothing tone. Also, above anything, Amy's voice still soars through the air which is just phenomenal.
The drums, guitar, bass, and piano within this song is absolutely riveting. I applaud Evanescence.

Exactly. Ive heard the song just over, and over Im not getting an appeal for the second verse. The bridge, however is awesome.
'Call Me When Your Sober' does remind me of 'Anything for you' a bit. It sounds like music changes through the whole song[ALOT of Artists are doing that now days. eg Shaun Paul w/ Tepreture...the only thing I can think of:o]. Very uniqe:cool:.
Now. If CMWYS can connect with any song(or anything, anyone...), It would be 'Going Under'.Why? Because GU is about a relationship.CMWYS, however is not about that S. Morgan dude. Okay.:D

To be honest, this was like the first time that I enjoyed the guitar over the song - the guitar in this song has much more personality than any song on Fallen and like for the first time I can hear the bass, great!!! The melody is great, but Terry impressed me!!!
Haha. Yeah, Terry's an AWESOME artist. When I herad the clip, I was like, "OMGOMGOMG LISTEN TO THE GUITAR." haha. Then I was dancing when I heard the song.
:D ;)

Yea!!! I think everyone should stop being so negative and look at the positive things - the guitar is incredible!!! OMG, I wanna more of this!!! Remember that most part of songs have orchestra and choir behind, and CMWYS doesn't have them, so I'm so excited!!! This song, for those who don't know, is the shortest of the album, so it's quite normal it's bit commercial and it's a single... But, LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!

OMG! The pics are awesome. Amy's freaking GORGEOUS! I love the red cape!:D I love the look of the video and yes... Mr. Wolfman is hot!
Those of you who don't really like the song, sometimes you like songs even more when you here them live. I personally can't wait to here CMWYS live. I think i'll like it even more.:D

Oh god. Oh god. Oh god.
Sorry. ;)
Okay, no I'm not. This song hit me hard. Definitely in a good way. It brought me to tears. Maybe from the wait more than anything. And when a song makes me speak in short sentences and fragments. Like this. That means I am taken away.
*pulls self together* Seriously, I love it.
I want to be completely honest, though - and in truth I was expecting more from the lyrics. I've always found a lot of old Ev lyrics to be pretty deep, and that's what I look for in songs in general. The lyrics in this song are kind of "so-so" in my opinion.
But the way it's sung...man! I love Amy's voice in this. It sounds like her voice has matured a lot since the last album, at least it sounds that way to me. I can't get over it. The way the instruments mix with her singing just...gives me chills at some points, and turns me to goo inside at others.
I, personally, love the different tempo changes and what not. Gets a hold of you and keeps you guessing. Kinda takes you for a ride.
I totally agree. I think it's a rocky, almost unpredictable ride, and that goes well with the up and down emotions that I get from the song.
Anyway...this song is different, yes, but I think it's a wonderful kind of different.

That's exactly what my sister said when I showed her the picture of the "wolf" (who is a major hottie, omgzlykwoah)
And I agree that today is officially CMWYS day. So much good news for one day, I can hardly even wrap my mind around it.

And guys, let's not get our boxers in a bunch over the time it takes to see the video. It's not a long time at all. A week to get to know the song, then we get the vid. No big deal.

No, "Haunted" had 3:06... But, yea it's the shortest, I know for sure, but I can't reveal the sources, but it's true - I could reveal more, but I don't think that's correct, but the average of the songs is 4:35... "Good Enough" is the longest, with 5:31...

Actually, yes, I have listened to 'Fallen'. I've listened to 'Fallen' probably a good million times in the past over three years. I'm quite used to hearing that album (though, I can't see why being "used" to an album or not would affect ones opinion on whether it's mainstream or not). And yes, I honestly do believe that 'Call Me When You're Sober' is more mainstream than the music on 'Fallen'. It's not a strange opinion, it's simply different than yours.. and does seem to be a little more common. It's actually good to see more people discussing and disagreeing on certain aspects of the songs and such, as opposed to loving everything the band does without question, and there being nothing decent to discuss.

To stop this before it starts, you both are entitled to your own opnions. Voncroy, I suggest that you be much more civil when you post something. Junie can think what she likes; no need to sneer at her for it.
No fighting. Peace, love, and happiness. Okay? :p

Amy said this album would be more soulful. Kudos to Amy for the new soul! You can tell that she's definitely grown as a singer.
And of course, the rest of the band is awesome too. :)

Just enjoy the music. We're lucky that we've heard it this early. Also lucky we've seen screen caps this early. We could still be waiting another week or two before we hear/see anything of the song.

Guys, I wasn't attacking her - I was just giving an opinion about those kind of posts - Gosh, who am I to criticize other's posts??? Really, if I offend her, I'm sorry, it wasn't my intention...;)
