In honour of EvBoard ghosts long departed, I proudly present this question to you:

EDIT: Let's keep the entendre subtle, shall we?

Tile. It's not hard to clean dog shit off of tile, but it takes a lot more effort to clean it off of carpet.

Tile. Why are there so few hardwood + tile apartments? I hate this dingy ol' carpet and having to clean it.

And that makes Baby Jeebus cry.

Tile is all cold and stuff, I've never liked it. It seems rich people love the stuff for some odd reason, that and wood. THE COLDER YOUR HOUSE IS DOESNT MAKE YOU ANY FANCIER :p

Carpet in the living room, but make sure it's short not that 70's shag shit

Tile in the dining room

Easy cleanup in the dining room where it's needed but still somewhere comfy to relax in the living room ;) After all if it's all tile it gets mighty slippery when it gets wet

Just for gawd's sake clean the carpet!

I prefer carpet because when it's cold outside and you get out of bed, the tile is SUPER cold. No one wants to wake up to that. Also, it's pretty! :)

Would a pressure washer be of benefit?

Cause I always have issues cleaning up messes, thats what I prefer.

And I just wonder, most of the ladies seem to prefer the carpet to the tile...

This seems to be a sticky situation

Definitely tile. Easier to clean up. You can't make a carpet "clean enough to eat off of."

Sabercat

Carpet except in the bathroom. Anybody who carpets a bathroom is just ignorant when it comes to home interior.

Oh, and I don't want tile, cause what if I accidently drop my bottle of vodka and it hits the floor and shatters into a thousand pieces and my precious vodka is lost? Almost makes me cry just thinking about it. :(

My knight in shining armor!

Ok, so I was thinking about this a little more. I still agree that tile is the way to go. No doubt. But it would be a little easier to maintain with a little help around the house.

*looks at dhamma*

:D

edit: So I just want to clarify. I don't mean "help around the house" like washing dishes. It takes a LOT to keep tile shiny and smooth. It doesn't stay that way all by itself.

Carpet but I've a fuckin tiled floor and I don't want it at all, it feels like the floors gonna break and I go through it then I die or go to hospital (I also have a tiled floor in the living room) that's why I don't want a tiled floor. Carpet feels like you'll never break the floor and die or go to hospital which is good:cool:

It depends. In a hot country like Spain I'd prefer tile which is what we have now. But in a cold country such as Ireland I'd prefer carpet.

Tile, definately. You don't have to vaccum it (I hate vaccuming. My vaccum cleaner is retarded. The handle's taped on with duct tape.) It's also easier to sneak around on if you like being secretive and mysterious when you grab a cookie from the cookie jar. Carpet- the floor just squeaks too much. Tile is sturdy, easy to clean, dependable, and quiet.

Also, if you have a carpet and you live somewhere with a lot of bugs, little filthy bugs like ants can wander around on the floor until you step on them because you didn't see them. Not so with tile.

07-03-2006, 04:52 PM
Ew. If someone's carpet has bugs they definitely shouldn't be letting anyone go downstairs. Shouldn't go anywhere, really, but bugs like it more downstairs. And it's not like you can break out the pesticide on someone's carpet, unless it's really thick and you're in no danger of contaminating anything. *sprays Raid*

I wonder if anyone's accidentally eaten a bug while visiting downstairs. They could jump from curtains, or rods, among other things.

See, your comments only support the reason to go with installing tile.

Tile is a gift from the fairies...of love.

I was just stuck in a trailer in maine for the weekend with ants in the carpets. It's useless to use pesticide since my family only goes there once or twice a year, and the ants just keep coming back anyway. 'Twas not fun i tell you. But you could always see them when they were on the tiles, so you could get them away before you stepped on them, so no problem there.

I hate that stupid trailer. And it's carpets.

Hmmm....Well.....Tile is fun to slide on. But carpet is softer to fall on if ur just learning to walk (hush, there's a baby in this household, alright?!?!)

my personal preference would be tile though

But tile is so much easier to clean, specially with a baby around.

cowbell

haha, well, actually, downstairs is a mix, bcuz the kitchen is tile but the rest of the house is carpeted, so she gets the best of both worlds!!!

and the animals are the ones who pee in the carpet. the baby just likes to spill the dog water all over the floor of the kitchen. so we have to put the water up on the counter when she's wandering around.
