If you have never heard of him. Well you now have. He has been around many years just under different band names (most of them solo projects). He has been making Industrial music about as long as NIN has IE first apeared around the late 80s.

His first well known project was one called Brainchild, which was only a one of like many of his projects (he just can't stay happy with one sound.

Then it was Circle of Dust, where he actually released two albums worth of material before he ran into record lable problems and distbanded Circle of dust.

He also did a side project at the same time as Circle of Dust called Argyle Park, album was called Missguided (released in 94). Argyle Park is Hardcore Thrash meets Rave, and many other style slike Rag Time piano, abience, Rap, just pluss a few other different styles all mashed together into one cohesive style that is truly unique.

After Circle of Dust was disbanded he worked with a magian out of NY named Criss Angel, who hired Klay Scott (the Man behind Circle of dust/Brainchild/Argyle Park/ect.) To score the music for his new magic act. So from about 96-00 Klay was puting music to Criss Angel's magic act. there are about 3 score CDs worth of music for said show.

Then in 99/00 Klay started a new project called Celldweller. He took him about 3 years for him to finish the CD. but let me tell you it is the best $12 you will ever spend on a CD. He takes everything he has learned from his privious projects. And came out with the most Diverse Mishmash of Genres, that you just have to hear to believe.

He has some samples located here if you want to know what Celldweller Sounds like:

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/7/celldwellermusic.htm

--There are also some samples of his work with Criss Angel here:

http://www.crissangel.com/criss_angel_mindfreak/audio.htm [He only worked on systems 1-3]

If you want to check out his music you can buy it here:

Unfortunately all but one of his previous CDs is still in print which you can order here:

Sincerely,
The Master

Yeah I know Celldweller. Have the recent selftitled album.

The Last Firstborn kicks ass! It's my favorite song by him/them.
Switchback is great too.

Celldweller is fantastic. I think he's also done some music for various Mtv shows. There's also a couple Celldweller tracks in the Enter The Matrix game. I agree with The Master, everyone should check out his stuff =)

Ya he wrote the theme song for the one of the sports shows on MTV back that was used around 95/96. That and his music from Circle of Dust to Celldweller has apeared through out the times in different MTV shows and what not... You also see him on the Discoverychannel sometimes when they re-air the science of Magic episode you catch a quick glimsp of him Playing guitar for the live Magic Show/Rock Conncert thing that he help write w/Criss Angel (who is the magician)...

SIncerely,

Scott Albert is the man! A musical genius whose talents have long been overlooked... The original Circle of Dust cd is still an amazing piece of work.

That it is... along with His Argyle Park stuff... it amazing he has been around about as long as NIN, yet no where near the fans.

Hopefully Celldweller will get him the over due recognition he deserves...

A genius, indeed.

The song "Chasm" from Circle of Dust's Disengage CD is by far my all time favorite industrial masterpiece.

That whole album Disengage is awesome. Chasm is a great song I love that one too... But I also really love Refractor, and Mesmerized too, especially Mesmerized.

Yeah, Argyle Park is the shiznit... Although I think Brainchild was sonically a better effort. More aggression less techno. Either way, on cannot go wrong with ANYTHING Mr. Albert lays his hands on.

Well that's how different tastes are... I personally view Brainchild as one his weaker moments. But if you liked Brainchild you should try and find his first band called Immortal, which released a demo tape back in 89/90. That has the earliest recording of Senseless Abondon on it. The band was made up his brother (who co-wrote AP2, and has his own solo stuff under the band name Level) and danny 'balki' lemyre. But Imagin you already knew this.

1989-1991:
01. Poets Eye was recorded.

1992:
01. Brainchild: Mindworp
02. Circle of Dust: Self Titled

1993:
01. Circle of Dust: Metamorphosis

1994:
01. Argyle Park: Misguided
02. Argyle Park contributes "Drive, He Said" to
"I Predict a Clone: a Tribute to Steve Taylor"

03. Circle of Dust Contributes "Am I in Sync?" to
"I Predict a Clone: a Tribute to Steve Taylor"
--Steve Taylor as in the guy responsible for originally signing Chevelle

1995:
01. Circle of Dust: Self Titled (re-released and re-recorded) [production and over all recording ten times better than origional]

Onenemy (accustic); previously unreleased.

01. Contributes two tracks to AP2 (reserection of the ravens,
and my sympathies)

2000:
01. Releases Celldweller Demo EP
02. Last 2 Criss Angel CDs released

01. Celldweller Debut Album

Good News is it looks like Argyle Park and his Metamorphosis CD is going to be re-released here in the next month or so. And then later in the year Brainchild and the 92 version of his First Circle of Dust CD. The bad news is it looks like its only for a limited time, I think the company re-releasing it is Brutal Plannet Distrabution.

/me edits myself to be more on topic. I really need to quit posting when I'm tired.

The discog was great. I didn't realize Klay had done so many different projects. I mean, I knew there were a lot, but I didn't know there were that many. *head spins imagining trying to find all those* I really liked his work with Kriss Angel...that was great. But I still think so far, Celldweller is my personal favorite still.

Tim rules almost as much as Mr. Albert for putting together that discog.

One of the reasons you'll notice a lot of his music on MTV is that Buka (one member of Argyle Park/AP2) worked there for some time. I've heard snippets of CoD songs here and there for years. For a few years, if you heard anything from the Christian undergound, it was pretty much guaranteed that Buka had worked on the show.

Thanks for the reissue info, too. I only have Argyle Park on tape.

Lucky Duck. I'm hoping he will make it back to Cali on a night I can make it to show... I've been a fan of his for like 6 years now and have yet to see him perform. then again he didnt' even start playing live until last year and when he was playing live when I first got into him it was only NY with Criss Angel for the Amystica Show.

Well, a new (well old stuff) CD has been released. Its old in the sense that they are Demos from his Celldweller Debut, titled Celldweller: Beta Cessions. It also has a new take of his Final Circle of Dust Song called Goodbye. The other Cool thing about the disk is that Disk 2 consists of the Debut Album sans Vocals. Nice for messing with for making home made music videos or just background music.

The liner notes make you wonder just how many more songs he has stashed away we will never ever here. Along with the notion that we may have heard more of his stuff in some film and never knew it.

Sincerely,
The Master

P.S. The CD is only availble from his website at celldweller.com and Live Shows.

Yes, I got that newsletter. Not sure why it wouldn't let you join the Cellblock. Maybe they were having problems at the time. Try joining again if you haven't already.

Yeah, I heard about him being featured in that mag. The Celldweller people thought it was coming out in September, but it didn't. I believe it comes out this month. The Official website for the mag still has it on preorder, but it should be out in the next week. The magazine comes out every 3 months, and this is the month for it to happen.

I am part of the street team.

Okay, well I'll try joining soon (I'm in school right now, lol). Perhaps it was having problems.

Oh, okay... well do you think this magazine would be available at Barnes & Noble? I don't know where else I could get it.

What do you do in the streeteam? I kinda wanted to join, but I didn't know if it costed or anything. I guess it wouldn't really help where I live because everyone in my town is emo or preppy. *Sighs*

The magazine is available at some Barnes and Nobles, as well as Borders. You can also get it at Hot Topic.

The street team doesn't cost anything. They give you special sales, and insider info on how to help the band. You do things like make posts about them on message boards, add them to your MySpace, and stuff like that. It's alot of internet stuff, and you can do as little or as much as you want.

I love his cover of the BG's song, "Tragedy". It's kind of different for him. He's got some typical Celldweller-ic elements, but I feel as though there's some other new style.
