Ok, I was trying to come up with a great post for my 1337th post. It took me a long time but finally it hit me what it should be about. Cheese. Cheese is one of the greatest substances ever known to man.

Who else likes it? What kind is your favorite?

Cheese! I love cheese. My favorite kind is probably medium cheddar, but colby is pretty damn good too. I'm glad to see there are other cheese fans here. I'm not a big fan of string cheese though, it's too mushy for me. OK, I'm done post whoring now.

Oh yes, cheese rocks! I love nacho cheese from Taco Bell. Mozarella string cheese is scrumptious as well. Everything I bake for dinner is usually loaded with shredded cheeses. Mmmm...yummy!

Yay cheese!

<Insert obligatory Walter and Grommet reference>

My general favorite is Mozzarella but recently I came across this Ossau-Iraty that could replace it...

Cheese and chocolate are the two best things on earth (not in combination though...ew). My fav. cheese for sandwiches and stuff is white american cheese but my fav. non-sandwich cheese is cheese whiz (sp?) b/c I like to make cheese dip. I mix cheese whiz and rotel together and heat it for like 7 minutes and eat it with tostitos omg it's so good yummmmmmmmmmmm. My poor friend Bella from Taiwan...when she lived w/me I made cheese stuff for her all the time like I made broccoli w/cheese sauce and cheese dip and cheese pizza and omg we ate so much cheese and she said they don't really have cheese there so it was special. she got so hooked on cheese and now she's back in Taiwan and she's miserable.hahahahahahahahahahaha sometimes I talk to her and I say "Bella guess what I'm eating? Cheeeeeeeeeeeese" hehehehehe I'm so cruel.

edit: wooow I must have pissed some ppl off I lost rep points.:( Anyways I edited this to add that when I make Mexican food I only like to use Monterey Jack cheese. that's the best for that sort of thing. Especially those mixed bags of shredded monterey jack and colby cheese. yummmm

I have a fondue pot and I melt cheese in it (fondue cheese b/c I'm too dumb to find the right combo of cheeses for it)and I dip apple slices (gala and red delicious) in it and cubes of french bread and sometimes I buy those hickory farms (??) turkey sausage log things and slice them up and dip them in it which is reaaaaaally good. I'm starving now. *drools on computer*

I love cheese. I can eat it with anything- breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Any time of day, I'll eat it. My favorites are sharp cheddar, provolone, mozzerella, muenster, pepperjack, blue cheese, nacho cheese, fat cheese, skinny cheese, any cheese. I just love cheese, though the only ones I can't stand are extra, extra sharp cheddar, whiz cheese, and any kind of american cheese. American cheese isn't even real cheese.

Omg cheese balls. I was at this wedding reception not too long ago and the caterer had made these delicious cheese balls. Unfortunately they would not share the recipe w/me (*ahembastardsahem*) so I went over in my mind all the ingredients in the cheese ball and I looked up recipes on the net. I found one that seems to be almost identical. Yummm I can't wait. Oh and for those who are curious..to make this cheese ball you mix Philadephia Cream Cheese, some shredded Cheddar cheese, sliced green olives, green onion or parsley (mostly for color but also a little flavor),...and here the recipe varies across different web sites...some ppl add Worchestshire (sp?) sauce to the mix, some add tabasco, some add butter, and some add mayo. I think you need to just experiment w/it. And to top it off you form it into a ball after mixing it together and you roll it in finely chopped up walnuts and refrigerate for a couple of hours to make it harden up real good. Sounds good huh?

I can't eat cheese. It makes me sick.

That makes me sad. Like so. :(

I'm sort of lactose intolerant. I can't have milk or ice cream, but I can have yogurt and cheese, probably because of the way they're aged. I haven't really figured out why yet.

Anyway, I want to turn this into the cheese fan club thread! As soon as some members arrive, that is.

I don't know if cheesecake actually counts as cheese. It sure does in my book.Absolutely! It's just sweetened cream cheese basically (way oversimplification).

How about a nice Bleu Cheese dressing over a lettuce wedge with some bacon bits. Yum.

Dark Star: Jacket potato is such a cute name for a baked potato. I'm gonna call mine that now.

Ok, today for cheese I had pizza for lunch, and I lifted up the cheese and put Cheetos underneath, because the pizza was soggy and I thought it would help. Oh, and I just had fettuchini with parmesan. Cheese is my bestest friend.

ok I've got a really good recipe to use GOAT CHEESE in. I know some of you are going WTF are you out of your fucking mind ewwwwww but it's actually good so shaddup. I got it off of www.epicurious.com. Basically you take some pears (Bosc) and you half them and you take out the core and you bake them in the oven in a glass pan with butter under them and some balsamic vinegar over them until they are tender. then you take 'em out and you put goat cheese in the cored out part and you drizzle them with honey and sprinkle them with pepper. I'm sure it sounds odd but it tastes sooo good. It makes a really good side dish for like baked whole chicken or something Thanksgiving-y

This thread is awesome! Haven't seen it in a while.

I've discovered a newfound appreciation for cheese in my time at college. Especially cheese that isn't actually cheese...which can be pretty good at masking the taste of cafeteria food.

I would say my most exciting cheese moment, however, was making a grilled cheese sandwich in the toaster oven. I felt like such a rebel.

Post away about cheese! You know you love it...

I LOVE cheese, not all cheeses though. I don't like Stilton, but i love extra mature cheddar :p
The other night I had a mini cheese net (filled with 5 different cheeses). They were all from France: Brie, Camembert, St Paulin, garlic & fine herbs, and another unidentified one. Yummy!
Cheddar is the only way to go when having crackers and cheese & pickle though.

Ok, I'll probably get shot down for this, or just gross people out but I like that weird funky spray cheese! Hahaha, I know I know! But it's good... especially on Ritz crackers. Hahaha, I'm so American!! I also like parmesan cheese on mah spaghetti! And mozzerella (sp?). All the Italian stuff. I remember when I was in France during my homestay the family I was staying with went to a cheese store and man did it stink! Haha, I wasn't much of a cheese fan back then (I'm not too much of one right now but I like it more than I did) so it was pretty gross. I also remember every meal we had either had cheese in it or cheese was what was for dessert. I was cheesed out after the three days of being there. Anyways, well I'm not suprised to find a cheese fanclub on this site, lol. Yall are crazy awesome!

They have this really fun cheese thing for starters here in Mexico. It's called a "chicharron de queso" and it's basically a rolled hollow cylinder of toasted cheese that you can stuff with meat and things. It gets too heavy though when you put things in it so it's better on its own. It's total awesomeness. And...it's made of Dutch cheese. Not Mexican. *craves one*

I freakin love cheese. I'm one of those people who eats parmesan with pasta, not the other way around. I even put parmesan in my salads. Not just ceasar, all of them. I mix it with olive oil for a dipping sauce. My mom was constantly buying it cause I ate it all the time.

She used to have to hide the mozzerella from me, like in the back of the fridge, cause if I found it I would eat the whole thing.

I've done cheese fondue a few times. I stuffed myself silly with it. People know that is they put out cheese and crackers, I will eat all the cheese. I love "squeezy Cheese", the stuff in a can. Great for car trips.

So, yeah, GO CHEESE!!!!

last night I had Dominoes (gag me). Got off the late shift at work, came in hungry, and there was some leftover in the fridge. My cousins need to pull their heads out of their ass if they think Dominoes is good pizza. There is nothing better than an extra-cheese pizza, but not from Dominoes.

I am eating cheese fries right now, yummy. My aunt had leftover bacon, so i shredded some cheddar, made some fries, and put it all together.

I make GREAT cheese fries. At the restaurant, they only put cheese on top of the heap of fries. I put cheese in a few layers in between. My goal is to not have 1 fry without cheese

Ooooh cheese fries. Sounds delicioso.

Anyway I went to brunch today in the cafeteria and for some reason they had a cheese tray (leftovers from yesterday when there was a private party, maybe?) And the cheese tray had CAMEMBERT on it. Granted, it was crappy Camembert, but crappy Camembert still owns all other cheeses. So I had some. Twas good.

Danny Elfmans's music reflects
a) old types of music such as waltz or polka
b) primitive elements
c) his love for cheese

I seriously considered getting her all this cheese for her birthday (after what she did to my present) but knowing my luck it would start to smell really bad before she opened it. Anywho, I was watching one of those shows on the Food channel (it wasn't Unwrapped but it was one like it... I can't remember the name of it) anyways, the episode was about cheese. All kinds of cheese and different ways to eat the cheese...

I forgot to mention the amazing cheese I ate last night. It's a type of Mexican cheese, called Manchego. The flavor almost...almost reminds me of Dutch cheese. It's very tasty.

I made my special Hawaiian style sandwiches. Cheese on both sides, a slice of ham in the middle, and a slice of pineapple. Then heat them up in a pan until the cheese melts. Mmmm. *drools*

Sarah, that cheese looks positively delicious lol. *pokes the cheese on screen*
Eh. I can't help it. *humps cheese*

Did I ever mention the fried tomatoes with cheese I make? I found the recipe on line and it's a really good snack.

Basically you take 2 cloves of garlic and an onion, and chop them into tiny pieces. You throw them into a pan with a tiny little bit of olive oil, and heat them until they're nice and golden-colored. Then you add the sliced tomatoes, and salt, pepper, oregano, thyme, basil, and any other herbs you have lying around. Don't cook the tomatoes too long, or they'll start to fall apart. Just before you're going to remove them from the heat, put some cheese on top of each slice and let it melt. If you're afraid the tomatoes are going to fall apart anyway, scoop them out of the pan, put them on a plate, add cheese, and microwave for a few seconds. Enjoy. ;) :D

"Although the Netherlands are most of the time remembered for the windmills and tulips, the country is also famous for its cheeses. More than 50% of the total cheese production consists of Gouda cheese.Edam cheese represents 27%, and it holds a perfectly round shape. In the old days, the farmer would take his cheese once a week to a nearby cheese market looking for a bidder. Today cheese markets in Gouda and Alkmaar still feature the old rituals and traditions of the cheese trading process, but that is more for the sake of tourism that the trade itself."

Here we can see there are cheese lovers everywhere. I got this information at my book school and i felt like sharing this curiosity with you guys. I hope you like it .

Cheese in a jar. (http://www.kraftfoods.com/cheezwhiz/cw_index.html) Similar to how salsa comes. It's pasty, and you have to heat it up to get it gooey.

Processed cheese it much saltier. Cheese in general contains a lot of salt. My dad is on Atkins, but his blood pressure went thru the roof. So, now he has to have no/low salt meats and cheese. you can really tell the difference, it brings out the actual flavor more.
