One of my friends bought me a Chobits Graphic Novel for my birthday last year and it was pretty cool. But I haven't seen the cartoon or movie or whatever else there is of it....

Haha, I started to download some but it was Hentai so I would have to say **** No!

It was probably just some rip off of it anyway, but still.....

I bought vol1. Haven't had the chance to watch it. I don't think it's hentai but..... it's not for kids. Listed as 16 and Up on the box.

It isn't hentai, it's just mature humor. It's like one step above Love Hina in adult content, but nowhere near as good. Still, it is a great series, and you should at least give it a shot.

The manga's pretty good, too. But again, not anywhere near as good as Love Hina.

Hentai? ^^;;; Chobits isn't hentai. It shows some chest every now and then and has mature themes, but nothing overly big. I haven't read the whole series yet or seen any of the movies since Vol. 1 just came out last month. I suppose i'm waiting to finish the manga, only 3 books left. Chobits is definately my favorite manga right now.

You've seen Akira, Fist of the North Star or Ninja Scroll? Goodies as well.

I've been meaning to pick up the manga for a while now, the anime may follow. Hope it'll be good.

And am I the only one who couldnt get into Ninja Scroll? :?

It was alright, but I didn't like the way Jubei was interpreted. Could've been done better.

I was a big fan of Ninja Scroll, but i put it down to the fact that it was probably the first manga i ever really saw, other then some of the saturday morning cartoons like teknoman.

You said it right except for the books part. ;) Manga is just manga.

I really liked Chobits. It was really funny, which I enjoyed, and then got pretty serious towards the end, which I liked even more. The anime was pretty good too, but didn't quite capture of the cuteness of Chii.

It's kind of a difficult series to recommend, though. The serious type will be turned off by how shallow and perverted it starts - most likely dropping it after the first couple of episodes. Then again the people that are into the shallow and perverted humor will probably be disappointed with how it ends... getting all dark, serious, and moralizing and such. If you can handle both ends of the deal, though, it's a great series to check out.

The art... *_* Clamp-samaaaaa.

I'm waiting on the last DVD. Show's amazing, and it only really started getting good in the last DVD.

The manga was great, too. All CLAMP series are freakin' amazing.

I agree with everyone's that posted. Chobits was a fantastic manga series, though I do say the DvD was a little disappointing. Not in the animation, no. But the English dub was horrifying. Being the lazy bastard that I am, I don't usually listen to my animé in Japanese. Watching Chobits in English hurt. The dub is just horrific. I didn't want to bother even listening to the Japanese version. Nngh.

But overall, I anticipated the months that went by until I could get my grubby hands on the next issue. It's just so sad that it's all over now. God dammit.

Anyone know when the Berserk manga is coming out?

Hmm. I wouldn't exactly call Chobits the most original thing around. There have been a few other anime and manga titles released revolving around a boy falling in love with robot girl. Chobits just managed to be of a much higher quality than the rest...

Yeah, anyway. Manga. I really love X (hence the icon), Angel's Sanctuary, and occasionally Tsubasa. Manga's great, but I don't usually have that much time to devote to it.

~Christopher

They are printed like that because:

This book is printed "manga-style", in the authentic Japanese right-to-left format. Since none of the artwork has been flipped or altered you get to experience the story just as the creator intended.

I got that from my Manga book "Real Bout High School".

Yea my friend got the Hellsing volume. I can't believe the First vol. of Berserk got by me! "I must be slipping in my old age!"

I'm gonna hit up Ragnarok this weekend... my bro got the whole series so I'm going to read that and Eva (Once again).

They're not backwards! That's the traditional way for manga to be written, and just about all Japanese books too. (I'm sure other countries do it but I'm only 100% sure on Japanese ones.)

I love Chobits, as you can see in my avatar.. tee hee. I think it's pretty original, but I haven't read others like it. Still, since I'm biased I'd probably end up liking Chobits better. I love CLAMP in general. I like the manga better than the anime... manga art is always prettier, and I just think the anime didn't capture it quite right. I still love both though.

Erm.. hentai is porn. Chobits isn't hentai. It's just for mature readers and has an occasional bare breast. If it was some rip-off of Chobits then maybe... I've seen some knock-off Chobits art that looked a little risque O.o

That's so painfully sweet I can feel my teeth rotting away. I love Chobits, it mixes comedy with drama perfectly.

I love Chobits. It's one of the better series that are available where i live. Unfortunately I've only read the first two and I can't manage to get my hands on any more.
