Wtf is he talking about, never made a dvd? My copy of Year Of The Spider is a double disc with a behind-the-scenes dvd included.

Wow is Scooter a shitty speller with shitty grammar... But I still love the band and hope they keep releasing.

Weird stuff he said, and all that in caps, *shakes head*. That's really messed up stuff, but hey--they know what they are doing. . .

You'd have to be one serious fan to even attempting to tackle reading that mess.

I was very tempted to give in after coming across the "should of been" :p

Translated for the rest of us:
This is one of the hardest things I've ever had to write but I've always been straight up with y'all and kept you informed. The week before our record was released Jason Flomm and Lee Trink {the 2 presidents of lava and Atlantic} were fired. Those were the 2 people that we had faith would deliver this record like it should of been delivered. Im not blaming Atlantic for what happened because they did give us a chance to put these songs out and see what was to come. And a few people that tried to work it COLD thanks them for their time and help. When you put a song out on the radio it is what it is. Its a gamble on your life and your career and your hope . people just didn't react the way we had hoped they would. We appreciate all your hard work on trying to promote the record and we love all of you guys but now I ask you to lay down your arms !the battle is over. Since we've gotten off tour in December we haven't even talked to the label/hell I wouldn't even know who to call. But instead of having someone tell us that its over we choose to tell them instead. We bled on those tracks and the label just didn't see what they had. The industry today is to jaded and fake . instead of being upset and bitter about this we reflect on what we did do. We got to touch peoples lives for the better part of a decade. We got to experience things we only dreamed about all our lives and for that we are grateful. God I love you guys so much! And I'm more worried about y'all than I am myself. I know that some of you need our music like we do to . and ill never quit writing songs for y'all. Sam and I are going to start a new project. If god allows us to do this we {which I have confidence that he will} you will hear songs again from us someday. We made it through alot of hard times and alot of bands dream of having a career that lasted as long as ours. We have never made a dvd and that's the first thing im gonna work on. We have footage from the making of the first record until now. Thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart for what you have given me and COLD. Its too hard to express in words how I feel about y'all so im not even attempting that. I know alot of people are gonna be mad and say that I gave up on them. But I didn't. This is just another bump in the road called life. Music has been the important thing to me since I was a lil kid. I chose to make records instead of being with my family and my 2 lil girls so don't ever say that we gave up please. Some might say we gave up because of the money. For some reason people think were rich rock stars who live in mansions and all that but that is far away from the truth. We made enough to survive and we have no regrets. I hope that you understand our decision to bow out gracefully instead of being told that we cant do this anymore. I wanted to disappear and shut myself off from the world of music but I cant do that. My world is music. All I have in my life now are these songs that we created and memories of our life as COLD. Thank you guys for being our family for the last 10 years . we love you all and please try to understand our decision. Much love to you. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . sw
I feel so stupid. I was panicking for a few minutes because I was thinking this was Coldplay calling it over, but then I breathed a sigh of relief when I finally realized it's just COLD.

Yeah...I only read, like, the first 3 lines. All caps. Tisk tisk

All caps annoys me, but I actually read through the whole thing anyway...

That kinda sucks, I was starting to get into their music. I mean, I'm not like a huge fan or anything but I liked a few of their songs.

I think Scooter was kind of contradicting himself though when he says it's about the music, not the fame, and yet he says he was unhappy with the airplay and the sales, etc. I know all of that is important is important in continuing with a music career, but still, it sounds like he was expecting more moolah out of this latest album.

I'm a little hurt by the news. I really thought that this album would turn them around...although, I still didn't see the logic in how Geffen dropped the ball on their previous album that debuted @ #3 (That of course being Year of the Spider).

I'll find solace in having seen them and Ev for my first ever concert, but this one's going to sting a little. For those of you who haven't listened to Cold, I encourage you to listen to the piano and strings version of Wasted Years which is on their Myspace for now.

I really think that it sucks that this is happening, I too really got into them because of their latest CD. Here is another post by Scooter from their board:

This does really suck. I think their new album is freaking great.

It sucks but that was a great way to go oun unlike some other bands that have to go on a rampage before there band ends up breaking apart.

I wouldn't consider myself a huge fan, but I've really gotten into "A Different Kind of Pain" lately, and this took me by surprise. I haven't heard much of their older music, but that's a great album, IMO. I'm not going to go cry in a corner, but it's a little disheartening. :(

EDIT: I think I've listened to the piano and strings version of "Wasted Years" about 30 times in the last few hours. Cfw828 and Tracie were right...beautiful song.

Last time Cold was in my area, I was out of town so I never got to hear them play again. Like Chris, I'm happy that I got the chance to see them back when they toured with Evanescence...I just wish that I had appreciated their music back then. ADKoP was such an awesome album, that news of the break up came out of nowhere for me.

I <3 the Strings/Piano version of "Wasted Years"

Damn. I liked them. They weren't my favourite or anything, but they were still good.

I totally hadn't heard about this until now.

I am such a fan. Not to the extent of which I am to Evanescence I guess, or I'd have been following them more closely.

But that is kinda out-of-the-blue, right? I thought their last album was great.

I could be mistaken, but dident an extremly good looking and super talented young lady predict this was going to happen???? (go on, give it to me cold fans!!!)

I just hope that no one from this board actually goes over there and makes the comment you just did. Oooh, that would not be fun at all. It's true though. :p

Actually, technically speaking, you're incorrect.

At the time, she said that they already had broken up. She didn't predict anything, which got Cold fans all angry. She apologized and everybody moved on.

So apparently, the whole "cold calling it quits was started by an imposter or something?" I read a message on their myspace saying the Cold is still Cold.

It took them nearly 2 months to say that?

ChocolateFiend

So... is it a sham or are they planning on calling it quits in the near future?

According to a few outside internet sources, an impersonator hacked the site and posted that, but they havent broken up.
