when i first saw 'son of a preacher man' i was totally expecting a cover of the 60's mo-town song. good stuff though, dark synthie sounding

They do sound quite Industrial. Techno or House sounding, even. From the samples that I've downloaded from mp3.com they seem to be hot and cold. Some songs are GREAT, some songs ...well they're not so great. 'Monochrome', 'Halo' and either 'Beneath the Skin' or 'Razor Sharp' are really good. The singers vocal style takes a bit to get accustomed to. But after a while you really get into it.

I love Collide, Frozen is such awesome.

i love listening to "crushed." im putting some choreography to it and audtioning it for my dance company. woOt! i have such a freakishly haunting concept for it. hehe

I just downloaded a couple songs earlier. I love it. I saw an ad for Some Kind Of Strange in Asleep By Dawn, to be honest I just liked the picture and the description was something like exotic something something. In looking on their website I discovered two things of great interest, one - Statik did the programming on Tool's Triad. Two - Danny Carey did some drumming for them.

Managed to find a copy of Chasing the Ghost and can say I am really impressed...not that I wasnt already. :D

I ordered Some Kind of Strange and Distort from Amazon.com a while ago. I do say, they are teh goodness.

i am kinda late, but i just realised that karin and statik are friends with tool. now thats a surprise to me ... well, they just gained my full respect :D

I would say Chasing the Ghost, but since, as you said; you couldnt get a hold of it, try Some Kind of Strange.

They also released a 2- disc remix album not to long ago. some of the remixes are only okay, but a good portion of them are really good.

I just found out about this band. :D I like how they've got a very sensual sound. I'm really looking forward to hearing more of their stuff!

My take on Collide:

Vocals = Portishead style with Gwen Stefani tone
Lead singer = Cristina Scabbia (style) meets Tarja from Nightwish (looks)
Music = Lacuna Coil meets a slow version of Orbital
Male counterpart = Agent Smith look-a-like (I swear!)

I found them on MySpace and can't get enough. I absolutely love their sound and style. I highly recommend them to anyone who likes any of the above artists (with the exception of Gwen Stefani, they're not poppy at all)

I found Collide on Myspace awhile back as well and I love them! The song I've come to like the most is "the lunatics have taken over the asylum"....awesome feeling to the song. And nice double meaning when you listen to the rest of the lyrics. ;)

I wasn't familiar with Collide until I got a friend request from them on Myspace. I listened to a few of their songs, and so far, so good. Might this be the beginning of a new obsession? :)

I saw a few of their music videos. I liked Euphoria, but not so much the Joplin cover Son of a Preacher Man. They have really interesting band pictures.

You know what's funny is I was looking through the threads to see if there was one about Collide, and I knew there would be. This band is awesome. I first heard the song "Halo" playing on my friend's Xanga. I got their albums immediately. I also love the store they have, I bought a small poster of the cover art from Chasing the Ghost, awesome. My fav songs are Lunatics (which can be heard on their MySpace), Halo, Dreamsleep, and So Long...to name a few. I'm glad they are getting the attention they deserve.

i absolutely love these guys!!! KaRIN and Statik make such kick ass music. I love Deep. that is my favorite song. My favorite cover defitneiyl has to be Lunatics Have Taken Over the Asylum. such an amazing song. KaRin has such an amazing voice!!!
